Definitions
- the invention relates to a screen printing system according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Such systems are used primarily for printing on fabrics and usually have a plurality of stencils with doctor blades which follow one another in the direction of movement of the fabric to be printed.
- the use of permanent magnets is the cheapest since, unlike electromagnets, they neither use energy nor generate unwanted heat.
- the force of attraction should be able to be switched off and, if possible, also regulated, which is not easily accomplished with permanent magnets.
- a generic screen printing system is known with a magnetic bar arranged inside a counter roll, which carries a series of permanent magnets. It can be tilted around a common axis together with a carrier. Two pins connected to the magnetic bar engage in oblique slots in tabs fastened to the carrier, so that an axial displacement of the carrier, which can be accomplished by means of an adjusting screw, changes the distance of the magnetic bar from the jacket of the counter roller and thus from that above the same in one Stencil squeegee leads.
- a screen printing system is known from EP-A-0 633 135, in which a magnetic bar with permanent magnets is arranged in a gap covered with sheet metal made of a non-magnetic copper alloy between two fixed plates.
- the magnetic force acting on the squeegee can be switched on and off by lifting and lowering the magnetic bar vertically.
- this solution requires strong actuating elements arranged below the magnetic bar, which results in high manufacturing costs and a large overall height of the system.
- a row of magnetic bars carrying permanent magnets is provided with a longitudinally displaceable cover plate, which consists of magnetically non-conductive material, in which disks made of magnetically conductive material are only inserted directly above the permanent magnets.
- the distance between successive permanent magnets must be larger than their diameter.
- the magnetic bar must be able to perform a lowering and a tilting movement and be stored and guided accordingly.
- the cover plate is an additional moving part. Overall, the structure is quite complicated. The cover plate must also lie practically directly on the permanent magnet and is strongly attracted to it, so that its rapid displacement, in order to quickly switch off the attraction force acting on the squeegee, as is necessary in the event of malfunctions in operation, should lead to excessive wear.
- the invention as characterized in the claims, on the other hand creates a screen printing system with a magnetic bar, the attraction of which can be switched off quickly on the squeegee without forces acting on it with lateral components, which cause lateral displacement and thus damage to the Can effect stencil.
- the forces acting on the squeegee always remain radial with respect to the template.
- the magnetic bar including its storage within the system, is structurally simple and robust and needs little space.
- the bearing of the magnetic bar can easily be designed in such a way that the forces required to switch it off are relatively low despite the high attraction force. This allows quick switch-off even with a modestly sized actuation unit.
- the position of the magnetic bar in the switch-on position and thus the attraction force acting on the squeegee can be made adjustable with simple means.
- the typical advantages of the permanent magnet system are preserved: no energy consumption during operation, no heat development and therefore no annoying thermal expansion.
- a hollow support 2 is fastened with a U-profile 3 with inwardly curved edges, which on the top by a strip 4 (Fig. 2) of low magnetic conductivity, preferably made of a non-ferrous metal.
- a plate 5 made of plastic, which extends essentially over the entire width of the screen printing system and serves as a support for an endless printing blanket 6, with which the material to be printed is glued at the beginning of the system and passed through it and by the it is replaced at the beginning.
- the screen printing system has a plurality of stencils 7 which follow one another in the direction of movement of the printing blanket 6 and which are rotatably held in the frame.
- dye is introduced into the stencils, which is opened by means of a doctor blade 8 - a roller doctor blade is shown, but the use of a doctor blade - made of ferromagnetic material, preferably stainless steel - is also possible the template 7 is pressed and applied to the fabric.
- a magnetic bar 9 is provided just below the axis of the template 7 with a closed hollow profile 10 on which a number of permanent magnets 11, for. B.
- neodymium magnets is arranged, which follow each other regularly at a short distance and are alternately polarized in reverse. Since the hollow profile 10 is made of a ferromagnetic material, preferably steel, the permanent magnets 11 are only applied and, thanks to magnetic attraction, adhere without further attachment.
- the permanent magnets 11 In an upper limit position of the magnetic bar (FIGS. 2, 3), the permanent magnets 11 almost touch the strip 4 of the hollow support 2. They exert a strong attraction on the doctor blade 8 through the plate 5, the printing blanket 6 and the template 7.
- the formation of the strip 4, which forms a layer of low magnetic conductivity, is important in order to achieve high attractive forces. It must not hinder the magnetic flux in order to ensure the desired action on the doctor blade 8, but on the other hand it must not produce a magnetic short circuit between the adjacent permanent magnets 11. Very good results were achieved with a brass plate approximately 3 mm thick.
- the magnetic bar 9 is positively guided by a parallelogram guide in the hollow beam 2. It consists of two identical guide parts 12a, b, which each consist of a pair of steel strips 13a, b arranged on both sides of the magnetic bar 9, which have a first bolt 14 which penetrates the magnetic beam 9 and a second bolt 15 which is anchored at the foot of the hollow beam 2, are rotatably connected.
- the bolts 14, 15 are directed perpendicular to the central plane of the magnetic bar 9.
- the magnetic bar 9 is thus positively guided by the two guide parts 12a, b on the hollow support 2 and thus on the frame of the screen printing system in such a way that it can only be moved in parallel along a circular line in a vertical plane passing through the axis of the stencil 7.
- a pneumatic cylinder 16 (FIGS. 3, 4) is provided as the actuating unit, which is anchored in the hollow support 2 and whose piston is connected to the magnetic bar 9 in such a way that the connecting line between the two fastening points points slightly upward.
- the space requirement, in particular the overall height of the hollow support 2 with the magnetic bar 9, is small, even together with the pneumatic piston 16. If the magnetic bar has to be brought quickly into the switch-off position shown in FIG. 1b, the pneumatic piston 16 is actuated and essentially pulls the magnetic bar 9 to the left.
- the magnetic bar 9 can therefore assume the upper limit position, which corresponds to the vertical alignment of the steel strips 13a, b and is shown in FIGS. 1a, 2, 3 and 5. In this position, the attractive force exerted on the squeegee 8 is greatest.
- an adjusting device 17 which is independent of the actuating element and is anchored in the hollow support 2, an upper limit for the position of the magnetic bar 9 can be set which is lower. This makes it possible to regulate its position in the switched-on position and thus the attraction force acting on the squeegee 8 very precisely.
- the setting device comprises (FIGS. 5, 6) a transversely located bolt 18 which projects in guide grooves 19a, b on the hollow support 2 and is thus guided in the same in a sliding and non-rotatable manner.
- a screw bolt 20 parallel to the guide grooves 19a, b, which projects in the longitudinal direction of the magnetic beam 9 through an elongated hole 21 therein and can be rotated in both directions by an electric motor 22 via an angular gear 23 for the purpose of displacing the bolt 18.
- Switch-on positions can be below the upper limit position can be set continuously, in which it exerts a greater or lesser attraction on the squeegee 8.
- a the middle switch-on position is shown in FIG. 7, one with minimal attraction in FIG. 8.
- the magnetic bar 9 is guided in such a way that in the region of interest there is an approximately linear relationship between the magnetic force acting on the doctor 8 and the path covered by the magnetic bar 9. This facilitates the adjustment of the attraction described above.
- a rapid switch-off by the pneumatic piston 16 is readily possible from any switch-on position, since the bolt 18 limits the freedom of movement of the magnetic bar 9 only in the switch-on direction and does not impede switch-off.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a screen printing system according to the preamble of claim 1. Such systems are used primarily for printing on fabrics and usually have a plurality of stencils with doctor blades which follow one another in the direction of movement of the fabric to be printed. It was proposed a long time ago (CH-A-436 711) to increase the contact pressure of the squeegee below an edition z. B. for a printing blanket, which carries the material to be printed, to arrange a magnetic bar, which exerts an attractive force on the squeegee. In principle, the use of permanent magnets is the cheapest since, unlike electromagnets, they neither use energy nor generate unwanted heat. On the other hand, the force of attraction should be able to be switched off and, if possible, also regulated, which is not easily accomplished with permanent magnets.
From DE-A-2 253 527 a generic screen printing system is known with a magnetic bar arranged inside a counter roll, which carries a series of permanent magnets.
Although this construction allows an adjustment of the distance of the magnetic bar from the squeegee and thus a regulation of the attractive force which it exerts on the squeegee, rapid deactivation in this way is not possible because the carrier is positively connected to stationary frame parts via the adjusting screw and therefore is not free to move. The magnetic effect can only be switched off by tilting the carrier together with the magnetic bar, which, however, requires relatively large forces. In addition, there is a risk of the sensitive stencil being damaged by the squeegee, since forces which are not exactly radially directed act on the latter. In addition, the construction is relatively complicated.
A screen printing system is known from EP-A-0 633 135, in which a magnetic bar with permanent magnets is arranged in a gap covered with sheet metal made of a non-magnetic copper alloy between two fixed plates. The magnetic force acting on the squeegee can be switched on and off by lifting and lowering the magnetic bar vertically. However, this solution requires strong actuating elements arranged below the magnetic bar, which results in high manufacturing costs and a large overall height of the system.
According to EP-A-0 369 540, a row of magnetic bars carrying permanent magnets is provided with a longitudinally displaceable cover plate, which consists of magnetically non-conductive material, in which disks made of magnetically conductive material are only inserted directly above the permanent magnets. By Moving the cover plate in such a way that said disks come to lie between the permanent magnets, the force of attraction can be greatly reduced. However, if it is to be switched off completely, the magnetic bar must be tilted about its longitudinal axis. To prevent the squeegee from damaging the stencil, it must be lowered by approximately 20 mm beforehand.
This construction has several disadvantages. The distance between successive permanent magnets must be larger than their diameter. The magnetic bar must be able to perform a lowering and a tilting movement and be stored and guided accordingly. The cover plate is an additional moving part.
The invention, as characterized in the claims, on the other hand creates a screen printing system with a magnetic bar, the attraction of which can be switched off quickly on the squeegee without forces acting on it with lateral components, which cause lateral displacement and thus damage to the Could effect stencil. The forces acting on the squeegee always remain radial with respect to the template.
For this purpose, the magnetic bar, including its storage within the system, is structurally simple and robust and needs little space. The bearing of the magnetic bar can easily be designed in such a way that the forces required to switch it off are relatively low despite the high attraction force. This allows quick switch-off even with a modestly sized actuation unit. The position of the magnetic bar in the switch-on position and thus the attraction force acting on the squeegee can be made adjustable with simple means. In addition to good switchability and controllability, which can generally only be guaranteed by electromagnetic systems, the typical advantages of the permanent magnet system are preserved: no energy consumption during operation, no heat development and therefore no annoying thermal expansion.

Between the
The screen printing system has a plurality of stencils 7 which follow one another in the direction of movement of the
In an upper limit position of the magnetic bar (FIGS. 2, 3), the
The
A pneumatic cylinder 16 (FIGS. 3, 4) is provided as the actuating unit, which is anchored in the
Since the lowering of the
In the switched-on position, the
The setting device comprises (FIGS. 5, 6) a transversely located
The
A rapid switch-off by the
