Definitions
- the present invention relates to a safety device for product identification and in particular a device consisting of a safety label intended to be affixed to products or articles of which we want to identify the origin, such as spare parts or automotive industry spare parts.
- the questionable quality of certain counterfeit items may affect the safety of the user. without his knowledge. Indeed, some of the non-original brake pads may wear out after a relatively short time, which can cause serious and even fatal accidents.
- the unalterable security marking is a possible means to hinder the development of counterfeiting.
- One of the proposed solutions consists of self-adhesive labels which include signs or writings printed with ink special luminescent which only allows reading of writings and / or signs if the label is subjected to ultraviolet radiation.
- Such a type of label takes up the principle of a security document notably described in the French patent application FR-2,552,023, said document comprising a support without fluorescent agent on which a block is printed using of a fluorescent ink visible under ultraviolet radiation and this, in the purpose of making the document non-reproducible by photocopy.
- An example of a security label based on using fluorescent ink to print characters invisible to natural light, as a mark of authenticity, is given by patent US-A-2,262,492.
- the object of the present invention is to propose a device product identification which is more secure and simple to carry out.
- the subject of the present invention is a device of the type comprising a support in which luminescent agents are dispersed, and which is characterized in that it further comprises at least one opaque part disposed on at least one luminescent part of the support, said part opaque being of the same color as said luminescent part and having at minus a contour which is of different color, the device having under the effect of a predetermined radiation in the invisible spectrum, an image different from that observed in natural light.
- natural light we hears commonly used daylight or artificial light and obtained for example by means of incandescent or discharge lamps.
- Another object of the present invention is a label for safety of the type comprising luminescent agents and which is characterized by what it also includes at least an exposed part printed with an opaque ink of the same color as the backing paper, said ink opaque being visible only under ultraviolet radiation and in that said part printed with opaque ink is delimited by at least one outline printed with ink in a color different from opaque ink.
- the devices and labels according to the present invention have the advantage of not being able to be identified in the light of day that it is artificial or natural like sunlight and whose means constitutive are difficult to detect even by informed people.
- the device according to the invention and shown in Figure 1 comprises a support 1 in which luminescent agents are dispersed, preferably over the entire surface of said support, the color of which is white example.
- At least one opaque part 2, of the same color as the support 1, white in this case, is arranged on said support and delimited by an outline 3 which is of a different color, for example black.
- the interior 4 of the opaque part 2 must not be distinguished from the support 1 in the light natural but only identifiable under a predetermined radiation such than ultraviolet radiation.
- a label according to the invention is printed on a support containing luminescence agents: preferably, this support will be a white vellum or coated paper, etc ... which contains original optical brighteners intended to enhance the white color of this paper; we can also use other types of support, for example films in synthetic materials such as polyester, polypropylene, provided that these materials contain luminescent agents.
- This support is then printed with opaque white ink, free of agents luminescent, then printed again with one or more inks of color to enter the information usually carried by a label.
- White ink and color ink prints are made in such a way that the areas printed with opaque white ink remaining visible are delimited by areas printed in ink color: in this way, there is no place that could show a slight contrast between the white paper and the ink white and could be detectable in ambient, natural or artificial. Only ultraviolet radiation can produce a clear difference in luminescence between the areas printed in white ink which appear dark and the white paper is luminescent.
- the labels thus printed make it possible to authenticate the articles on which they are affixed because of the presence of distinctive signs, not visible in ordinary ambient light.
- These labels can be attached using a link but prefer glued or self-adhesive labels which cannot be separated from the article without destroying themselves.
- This support is made of white paper, and contains luminescent agents intended to reinforce white in ambient light.
- This support is printed in positive with letters and signs 23 for example forming the logo of a company.
- Some closed parts of letters, such as the center of the letter O of reference 22, are printed with an opaque white ink: light of the day, the name appears in the usual way. Under a radiance ultraviolet, the name will appear differently since the letter O will have then the shape of a full disc and will no longer have the usual shape of a ring.
- a rectangular block 32 of dimension a x b with opaque white ink After the ink has dried, we print with colored ink, a second block 33 containing a negative impression or in reserve of the acronym of the company, this second block 33 being of dimension a x b exactly superimposed on the white ink pad 32.
- the initials are printed with white ink and, unlike a classic reserve print that would show these luminescent characters under ultraviolet radiation, the label according to the invention does not leave appear characters under ultraviolet radiation.
- Such labels including secure printing are more particularly intended to identify and authenticate objects or counterfeit goods, such as spare parts automotive or high value luxury goods.
- Another application of the device according to the invention is authentication of documents containing important information, said documents comprising parts printed according to the invention; these printed parts can be obtained by printing or by means of a self-adhesive label such as those described above.
