Description
The invention also relates to the use of the thermoplastic molding compounds for the production of fibers, films and moldings and the moldings obtainable here.
Im allgemeinen wird ABS als Zähmodifier in Polyamid eingearbeitet wie u.a. in der EP-A 3126, DE-A 34 03 576, EP-A 322 558, EP-A 411 823 und EP-A 1245 beschrieben.Are mixtures of polyamides with SAN, ABS or ASA polymers well known. Generally ABS is used as a toughness modifier in polyamide incorporated as i.a. in EP-A 3126, DE-A 34 03 576, EP-A 322 558, EP-A 411 823 and EP-A 1245.
ABS-, ASA-, SAN- oder PMMA-Polymere sind jedoch mit Polyamid nicht verträglich, so daß eine unzureichende Phasenanbindung (Haftung zwischen den einzelnen Polymerphasen) vorliegt, die bei der Verarbeitung oft zur Entmischung der Polymeren führt.ABS, ASA, SAN or PMMA polymers, however, are made with polyamide not compatible, so that an insufficient phase connection (Adhesion between the individual polymer phases) is present at processing often leads to segregation of the polymers.
In order to achieve a better phase connection, it is still known to modify one of the two polymers, i.e. functional Monomers by copolymerization or grafting into the Introduce polymer chain. These groups can be used in processing of the mixtures react with the other polymer and improve phase liability:
Die JP-A 041/126 757 und WO-A 89/1962 beschreiben mit Carbonsäuregruppen modifiziertes ABS und Polyamid, gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart eines Radikalstarters hergestellt, die US-A 4,496,690 offenbart ABS modifiziert mit Acrylamid in Mischung mit Polyamiden, US-A 5,032,644 isocyanatgruppenhaltige Styrole zur Modifizierung des ABS für Polyamidblends, US-A 5,132,370 (N-Phenyl)maleinimidhaltiges ABS für Polyamidblends. Die US 3,796,771 beschreibt mit sauren Gruppen modifizierte Polyamide in Mischung mit ABS.JP-A 041/126 757 and WO-A 89/1962 describe with carboxylic acid groups modified ABS and polyamide, optionally in In the presence of a radical initiator, US-A 4,496,690 discloses ABS modified with acrylamide mixed with polyamides, US-A 5,032,644 styrenes containing isocyanate groups for modification of ABS for polyamide blends, US-A 5,132,370 (N-phenyl) maleinimidehaltiges ABS for polyamide blends. U.S. 3,796,771 describes polyamides modified with acid groups in a mixture with ABS.
The mixtures of ABS / polyamide, which are from the prior art are known, but are still in need of improvement with regard to on the phase connection and the mechanical properties of the Molded body.
This is particularly the case with complicated geometries of shaped bodies Weld line strength unsatisfactory. These so-called weld lines are created at the interfaces of the polymer melts, which in complex spatial configurations of the injection mold on different Make the mold need to be injected to the molding fill completely.
The object of the present invention was therefore thermoplastic Molding compounds based on polyamides and ABS, SAN, ASA or To provide (meth) acrylate polymers that are good Weld line strength in addition to good toughness (in particular have multiaxial impact strength).
Furthermore, such partially aromatic copolyamides have proven to be proven particularly advantageous, the triamine content less than 0.5, preferably less than 0.3 wt .-%.
Manufactured by most known methods (see US-A 4,603,166) partly aromatic copolyamides have triamine contents, which are above 0.5% by weight, which leads to a deterioration in the Product quality and problems with continuous production leads. As a triamine that causes these problems Particularly worth mentioning is the dihexamethylenetriamine, which result from the hexamethylenediamine used in the production forms.
Copolyamides with a low triamine content show the same Solution viscosity lower melt viscosities in comparison to products of the same composition that have a higher Have triamine content. This both improves processability as well as the product properties considerably.
The melting points of the partially aromatic copolyamides are in Range from 290 ° C to 340 ° C, preferably from 292 to 330 ° C, wherein this melting point with a high glass transition temperature of usually more than 120 ° C, especially more than 130 ° C (in dry state).
With the partially aromatic copolyamides according to the invention those are understood that have a degree of crystallinity> 30%, preferably> 35%, and in particular> 40%.
The degree of crystallinity is a measure of the proportion of crystalline fragments in the copolyamide and is crystallized by X-ray diffraction or indirectly by measuring ΔH . certainly.
Of course, mixtures of the partially aromatic Copolyamides are implemented, the mixing ratio is arbitrary.
Suitable processes for the preparation of the invention Copolyamides are known to the person skilled in the art.
The batch process (discontinuous Production method) called. The aqueous monomer solution to temperatures within 0.5 to 3 h in an autoclave heated from 280 - 340 ° C, a pressure of 10 - 50, in particular 15 - 40 bar is reached by releasing excess Water vapor is kept as constant as possible for up to 2 h. Subsequently you relax the autoclave at a constant temperature within a period of 0.5 - 2 h until you reach a final pressure from 1 to 5 bar. Then the polymer melt discharged, cooled and granulated.
Another preferred method is based on that in the processes described in EP-A 129195 and 129 196.
According to these processes, an aqueous solution of the monomers a 1 ) to a 4 ) and optionally a 5 ) with a monomer content of 30 to 70, preferably 40 to 65% by weight under elevated pressure (1 to 10 bar) and with simultaneous evaporation heated from water and formation of a prepolymer to a temperature of 280 to 330 ° C. within less than 60 s, then prepolymers and steam are continuously separated, the steam is rectified and the diamines carried back are returned. Finally, the prepolymer is passed into a polycondensation zone and under an overpressure of 1 to 10 bar and a temperature of 280 to 330 ° C. with a residence time of 5 to 30 minutes. polycondensed. It goes without saying that the temperature in the reactor is above the melting point of the prepolymer formed at the respective water vapor pressure.
Due to these short dwell times, the formation of triamines largely prevented.
The polyamide prepolymer thus obtained, which is usually a Viscosity number from 40 to 70 ml / g, preferably from 40 to 60 ml / g, measured on a 0.5 wt .-% solution in 96% sulfuric acid at 25 ° C, is continuously from the condensation zone taken.
According to a preferred way of working, the result is obtained Polyamide prepolymers melt through a discharge zone below simultaneous removal of the residual water contained in the melt. Suitable discharge zones are, for example, degassing extruders. The melt thus freed from water is then in Strands poured and granulated.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, it is also possible components B) and C) and optionally D) to F) already in the degassing extruder for prepolymering the component A) to give, in which case the degassing extruder usually with suitable mixing elements, such as kneading blocks, Is provided. Then it is also extruded as a strand, chilled and granulated.
This granulate becomes continuous in the solid phase under inert gas or discontinuously at a temperature below the Melting point, e.g. from 170 to 240 ° C, up to the desired viscosity condensed. For discontinuous solid phase condensation can e.g. Tumble dryer, for continuous solid phase condensation Tempered tubes through which hot inert gas flows be used. Continuous solid phase condensation is preferred, being nitrogen or in particular as the inert gas superheated steam, advantageously that at the top of the column resulting water vapor is used.
The viscosity number, measured on a 0.5 wt .-% solution in 96% sulfuric acid at 25 ° C, is after the post-condensation in the solid phase or the other manufacturing processes mentioned above generally in the range of 100 to 500 ml / g, preferably from 110 to 200 ml / g.
The molding compositions according to the invention contain 5 to 94, preferably 5 to 60 and in particular 10 to 50% by weight of a non-functionalized ASA or ABS or SAN polymer or a polymer of C 1 to C 18 alkyl esters of ( Meth) acrylic acid or mixtures of such polymers.
The mixing ratio of the polymers is wide variable; for the case of mixing (meth) acrylates with However, ASA, ABS or SAN should be noted that these are only up to an acrylonitrile content of up to 27% by weight (up to 250 ° C based on the processing temperature), up to 25 wt .-% (up to 300 ° C), based on the total content of e.g. ABS, are miscible.

Vorzugsweise wird die Pfropfhülle in Emulsion hergestellt, wie dies z.B. in der DE-PS 12 60 135, DE-OS 32 27 555, DE-OS 31 49 357 und DE-OS 34 14 118 beschrieben ist.Preferably, the graft is made in emulsion, such as this e.g. in DE-PS 12 60 135, DE-OS 32 27 555, DE-OS 31 49 357 and DE-OS 34 14 118 is described.
The conditions in the production of the elastomer B 1 ) and in the grafting are therefore preferably chosen so that particle sizes result in this range. Measures for this are known and are described, for example, in DE-PS 1 260 135 and DE-OS 28 26 925 as well as in Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Vol. 9 (1965), pp. 2929 to 2938. An approx. 60% aqueous solution consisting of terephthalic acid (32.2 mol% ≙ 37.5% by weight), isophthalic acid (17.8 mol% ≙ 20.6% by weight), hexamethylenediamine (48 , 1 mol% ≙ 39.1 wt .-% or 1.9 mol% ≙ 2.8 wt .-%), bis (4-aminocyclohexyl) methane and 0.174 kg propionic acid and 100 kg water was from a heated Storage container at about 80 ° C at a speed corresponding to a polyamide amount of 5 kg / hour by means of a metering pump in a partially horizontal, partially vertical tube evaporator. The evaporator was heated with a liquid heat transfer medium, which had a temperature of 326 ° C, with vigorous circulation. The evaporator had a length of 3 m and a content of 180 ml and a heat transfer surface of approximately 1300 cm 2 . The residence time in the evaporator was 50 seconds. The mixture of prepolymers and water vapor emerging from the evaporator had a temperature of 310 ° C. and was separated in a separator into water vapor and melt. The melt remained in the separator for a further 10 minutes and was then discharged in the form of strands by means of a discharge screw with an evaporation zone, solidified in a water bath and then pelletized. The separator and the evaporator zone were kept under a pressure of 5 bar by means of a pressure maintaining device which was arranged after the column. The water vapor separated off in the separator was passed into a packed column with about 10 theoretical plates, into which about 1 l of vapor condensate per hour were added at the top to produce reflux. A temperature of 152 ° C. was established at the top of the column. The water vapor emerging after the expansion valve was condensed and had a hexamethylenediamine content of less than 0.05% by weight. The bottom of the column was an aqueous solution of hexamethylenediamine which contained 80% by weight of hexamethylenediamine, based in each case on the polyamide produced. This solution was added to the starting salt solution again via a pump before entering the evaporator.
