Definitions
- the invention relates to a perforating knife for cross-perforating signatures according to the preamble of claim 1.
- DT 22 34 078 discloses a method and a device for producing multi-layer signatures, with which problems of the appearance of pinch folds or wrinkles at the intersection of the fold lines are eliminated by introducing slots or perforations which extend in the longitudinal direction of one of the fold lines. Such perforations are made using a perforating knife.
- a disadvantage of this perforation is that the perforating knife to be used has a different thickness depending on the grammage of the paper webs and the number of layers of the signatures to be folded, and consequently must be made separately for each specific production.
- the invention is based on the object To create perforating knives for cross-perforating signatures, which can be adapted to different grammages of paper webs as well as to a different number of layers of the signatures without much additional effort.
- the invention has the following advantages in particular: the invention provides a universally usable perforating knife which is variable in its thickness.
- the perforating knife can thus be adapted both to the respective grammage of the paper web and to the number of signatures to be folded, without a separate perforating knife having to be made or used for each different production.
- a total of 7 designated second blade has a thickness e, z. B. of two millimeters on and a total height H and has on its first side 3 a plurality each spaced apart at a distance a, at an angle minus alpha, z. B. from 45 ° to a horizontal longitudinal axis 9 arranged perforating teeth 11 which are ground at their tip.
- a width of the perforating teeth 11 can correspond to a clear distance a between the perforating teeth 11.
- a second side 4 of the knife blade 7 also has recesses 6, as already described previously (FIGS. 4 to 6).
- a special feature compared to the second knife blade 7 is that perforating teeth 13 spaced apart from one another at a distance a are arranged at an angle plus alpha to the horizontal longitudinal axis 9 (FIGS. 7 to 9).
- a total of 14 first insert sheet has a thickness d, z. B. from a millimeter and a height h, which is less than the height H of the knife blades 1, 7 and 12 (Fig. 10 to 12). While a first side 16 of the insert sheet 14 has no teeth, a second side 4 is provided with recesses 6, as already explained above for the knife blades.
- the special feature with respect to the insert sheet 14 is that the insert sheet 17 has a thickness e which is twice the thickness d of the first insert sheet 14.
- a first perforating knife 18 designated overall by 18 (FIGS. 13 and 14), consists of a centrally arranged first knife blade 1 with a total height H and two washer blades 17 lying on both sides on the long sides of the first knife blade 1 and thus arranged on the outside and having a lower height h and in each case a double thickness e compared to the thickness d of the first knife blade 1.
- a second perforating knife according to the invention designated overall by 19, consists of a centrally arranged knife blade 1 and a smaller (second) shim 17 associated with the knife blade 1 on the outside Height h, double thickness e and two semi-long blades arranged on the other outside, mirror-inverted to a vertical center line 21, each in a horizontal alignment one behind the other and third knife blade 7; 12 double thickness e and a height H (Fig. 15 and 16).
- a third perforating knife according to the invention designated overall by 22, has the special feature compared to the second perforating knife 19 that the outer parts, namely the half-length knife blades 7, 12 on one side of the knife blade 1 and the (second) insert sheet 17 on the other side of the Knife blade 1 have been replaced with each other (Fig. 17 and 18).
- a fourth perforating knife according to the invention designated overall by 23
- two half-length knife blades 7, 12 have been arranged side by side so that they result in a herringbone pattern.
- the total length of the perforating knife 23 is obtained by a mirror-image arrangement of two further knife blades 12, 7 to the first-mentioned half-length knife blades 7, 12, which point with their herringbone apex 24 to the vertical center line 21 (Fig. 19 and 20).
- a shim 14 having a thickness d and a height h is arranged on a first outer side of the two herringbone-like to one another and has a total thickness of 2e Knife blades 7, 12; 12, 7 arranged.
- a fifth perforating knife according to the invention designated overall by 26, has the special feature compared to the aforementioned fourth perforating knife 23 that a (first) shim 14 having a thickness d and a height h is placed on a second, i.e. H. the other outside of the two herringbone blades 7, 12; 12, 7 is located (Fig. 21 and 22).
- a sixth perforating knife according to the invention, generally designated 27, it is provided that a first knife blade 1 having a thickness d is sandwiched between two herringbone perforating knives 7, 12 and 12, 7 with a respective thickness e. All parts 1; 7, 12; 12, 7 have a total height H.
- All mentioned perforating knife 18; 19; 22; 23; 26; 27 are variants or exemplary embodiments and, due to the presence of fewer knife blades and insert sheets, can each be adapted to the production requirements.
- the perforating knives On their second side 4, which faces a receptacle already mentioned, the perforating knives have the same or constant thickness D, which is formed in each case from two insert sheets 17 with a respective thickness e and a knife blade 1 with a thickness d, such as perforating knives 18, or other combinations, the three sheets of which, regardless of their arrangement, always have the thicknesses twice e and once d.
- All mentioned perforating knife 1; 7; 12 have 3 teeth on their first side, which act in the direction of a counter-perforating cylinder.
- a possible arrangement of perforating knives in a receptacle of a perforating cylinder is shown in EP 03 07 891 B1.
- the optionally the perforating knives 18; 19; 22; 23; 26 enclosed inserts 14; 17 therefore have a lower height h compared to a total height H of the perforating knife 18; 19; 22; 23 to ensure a maximum penetration depth H minus h into the signatures to be perforated.
- the individual knife or insert sheets of the perforating knife are arranged side by side in the circumferential direction or in the peripheral direction.
- the supplement sheets 14; 17 are made of the same material as the knife blades 1; 7; 12, e.g. B. made of hardened steel sheet.
- the perforation of the multi-layer signatures takes place by means of a perforating knife, which is arranged in the receptacle of the perforating cylinder and which is put together in accordance with the particularities of the respective production to be driven.
- a perforating knife can take into account not only the thickness and the type of material to be perforated, but also a different length of the signatures, which is made possible by the optional arrangement of the outer insert sheets when perforating. Folding can be done on the perforation line.

Derartige Perforationen werden mittels Perforiermesser eingebracht.DT 22 34 078 discloses a method and a device for producing multi-layer signatures, with which problems of the appearance of pinch folds or wrinkles at the intersection of the fold lines are eliminated by introducing slots or perforations which extend in the longitudinal direction of one of the fold lines. Such perforations are made using a perforating knife.
It is also known to create perforations and to fold along these perforations.
A disadvantage of this perforation, however, is that the perforating knife to be used has a different thickness depending on the grammage of the paper webs and the number of layers of the signatures to be folded, and consequently must be made separately for each specific production.
The invention is based on the object To create perforating knives for cross-perforating signatures, which can be adapted to different grammages of paper webs as well as to a different number of layers of the signatures without much additional effort.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of
The invention has the following advantages in particular: the invention provides a universally usable perforating knife which is variable in its thickness. The perforating knife can thus be adapted both to the respective grammage of the paper web and to the number of signatures to be folded, without a separate perforating knife having to be made or used for each different production.

All mentioned perforating

The perforation of the multi-layer signatures takes place by means of a perforating knife, which is arranged in the receptacle of the perforating cylinder and which is put together in accordance with the particularities of the respective production to be driven. In the Compilation of the perforating knife can take into account not only the thickness and the type of material to be perforated, but also a different length of the signatures, which is made possible by the optional arrangement of the outer insert sheets when perforating. Folding can be done on the perforation line.
