Description

The present invention relates to motion control mechanisms back and forth of the claw frames of an armor mechanic.

Un tel mécanisme a été décrit par exemple dans le document FRA-2.17.189 de la présente Demanderesse déposé en date du 10 mars 1994.We know that there are mechanisms of the kind in question constituted by complementary sets of cams fixed on the two ends protruding beyond the chassis of said mechanical a shaft which crosses the frame. Each cam cooperates with a follower roller mounted on a rocker which is in connection with connecting rods connected to the two frames of claws. Such a mechanism has been described for example in the document FRA-2.17.189 of this Applicant filed on March 10 1994.

Such a mechanism, which can be placed at the bottom of the chassis or at the top of it last, entails considerable efforts between the periphery of cams and follower rollers, so that it is absolutely necessary to plan an important lubrication. An excellent solution is place the cams in an oil bath. But this leads to the presence casings, gaskets, etc. so that the whole is relatively complex and therefore expensive.

The improvements which are the subject of the present invention aim to remedy these drawbacks and allow connections to be made between the mechanical control shaft and the connecting rods associated with claw frames that require only limited lubrication.

For this purpose, on each end of the shaft which protrudes outside the chassis, are set four crank arms offset angularly and of which the crankpins are located at a certain distance from the geometric axis of the shaft, two short connecting rods and two long connecting rods being articulated to said crankpins and respectively to the lower claw frames and superior.

Under these conditions, the articulation of the connecting rods on the crankpins can be made by means of sealed ball bearings which do not require no lubrication and can therefore work in the open air.

The appended drawing, given by way of example, will allow a better understanding of the invention, the characteristics which it presents and the advantages which it is capable of providing:
The single figure of the drawing is a schematic side view of one of the ends of the control shaft of an armor mechanism comprising a mechanism for controlling the reciprocating movement of the claw frames in accordance with invention.

There is shown schematically in the figure the frame 1 of a mechanical of armor comprising two claw frames. The lower claw frame has been referenced 2 and reference 3 has been assigned to the framework of upper claws.

On each end 4 a of the shaft 4 for controlling the mechanics, which in the usual way is driven by the shaft of the corresponding loom, were set four crank arms 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the same length each comprising at their free end a crank pin 5 a , 6 a , 7 a , 8 a . Of course, if the four crank arms 5, 6, 7 and 8 are the same length, a leveled crowd is obtained. In the general case, an oblique crowd is sought and under these conditions the arms 5, 6, 7 and 8 are of different lengths, adapted to the desired average obliquities. The crank arms 5 - 8 are angularly offset in an appropriate manner so that the crank pins located on the same side, that is to say those 5 a and 6 a, are associated with one of the ends of short connecting rods 9, 10 whose other ends are articulated to the lower claw frame 2. Similarly, the crank pins 7 a and 8 a opposite those 5 a , 6 a are articulated at one end of the long connecting rods 11, 12 whose ends opposite are articulated to the upper claw frame 3.

The articulations of the four connecting rods to the two frames are made by by means of a shaft mounted rotating in ball bearings associated with the corresponding ends of said connecting rods. The axes of connecting rods 9, 10 are referenced 13, 14 while those of connecting rods 11, 12 are referenced 15 and 16.

According to the invention, the two claw frames 2, 3 each have on their two opposite ends two series of holes 20 a , 20 b respectively 30 a , 30 b distributed over a circumference whose radius is equal to the length of the connecting rods 9, 10 respectively 11, 12. It is observed that the two series of holes of each frame of claws are arranged on either side of the median axis X, X 'of the frame considered.

In the illustration shown in the single figure, the axes 13, 14, respectively 15, 16 are engaged in holes of the two frames of claws, chosen so that they move back and forth parallel to each other for the realization of a leveled crowd. Yes you want to create an oblique crowd, just change the position axes in the series of holes in the claw frames to make them take the chosen oblique position allowing the realization of the crowd oblique desired.

Both the crank arms of the crank arms 5 - 8 and the pins 13 - 16 are articulated to the connecting rods 9 - 12 by means of sealed ball bearings or the like, so that the assembly considered is simple, economical and easy to maintain, therefore inexpensive. In addition, the settings which exist on the known mechanisms for controlling claw frames at the level of the cams and follower rollers, which are complex to realize are simply transferred according to the present invention to level of the claw frames from where they are particularly easy to carry out.
