Abstract

The appts. for horizontal continuous casting of metals consists of a pouring unit, a chill mould and a casting transport mechanism mounted on a bridge structure which is pivotable about a horizontal axis oriented perpendicular to the casting direction. The pivot axis (10) is located within the bridge structure (6) on a level below the casting unit taking the form of a keep-warm furnace (1). The keep-warm furnace, the mould, (2) with an adjoining sec. cooling section (3) and the casting transport mechanism (4) is pivotable upwards from the casting position by means of a hydraulic cylinder (11) which is hinge-connected to the free end of the bridge structure.

Claims (1)

Einrichtung zum horizontalen Stranggießen von Metallen, bestehend aus einer Eingießvorrichtung, einer Kokille und einer Strangtransportvorrichtung, die auf einer um eine horizontale quer zur Gießrichtung liegende Achse schwenkbaren Brückenkonstruktion angeordnet sind,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die den Schwenkpunkt bildende Achse (10) unterhalb der als Warmhalteofen (1) ausgebildeten Eingießöffnung innerhalb der Brückenkonstruktion (6) angeordnet ist und der Warmhalteofen (1), die Kokille (2) mit einer anschließenden Sekundärkühlstrecke (3) und die Strangtransportvorrichtung (4) mittels eines am freien Ende der Brückenkonstruktion (6) in Gießrichtung vor der Achse (10) angreifenden Hydraulikzylinders (11) in vertikaler Richtung aus der Gießposition nach oben ausschwenkbar ist.
