Description

The invention relates to a drainage element for presses for separating liquids from solid substances, in particular for fruit presses, comprising a rod-shaped, flexible drainage core with flow paths for draining the squeezed-out liquid from the press space and a liquid-permeable filter sleeve surrounding the drainage core, at least one end of the drainage element is attached to a juice collecting plate, pressure plate or to the press jacket of the press, and a rubber-elastic cuff surrounding the drainage core in the fastening area and on a free section adjoining it.

Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the known attachment of a drainage element in a fruit press. A plurality of drainage elements 3 are arranged in a press space 2, which is delimited by a pressure plate 1, in a known fruit press (not shown).

A drainage element 3 consists essentially of an elastic drainage core 4, via the external grooves 5, as the section AA shows, the liquid is led out of the press chamber 2 during the pressing process, and a stocking-shaped filter 6 for solid-liquid separation stretched over it. The drainage core 4 and the filter 6 are fastened in a core holder 7 at the ends of the drainage element 3. The filter 6 will passed over an elastic cuff 8 and fixed with an O-ring 9. A disc 10 serves to support the cuff 8 against a cross pin 11 which is pushed laterally into bores in the drainage core 4 and the core holder 7, thus ensuring the axial and radial fixation of the two components 4 and 7 to one another.

The core holder 7 is connected to the pressure plate 1 by means of a spacer bush 12 and a locking ring 13. A cam 14 of the locking ring 13, which engages through a slot 15 in the spacer bush 12 into a groove 16 of the core holder 7, in conjunction with a collar 17 of the spacer bush 12 lying behind the pressure plate 1, secures against axial displacement.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, the filter 6 is held in the spacer 12 by being clamped between the core holder 7, cuff 8 and O-ring 9. At least the cuff 8 is made of an elastically deformable material, preferably an elastomer. This type of construction has the following disadvantages:
  • a) The clamping forces result in a reduction in the inner diameter of the elastic cuff 8, the clamping forces being partially also transmitted to the drainage core 4. Since the drainage core 4 also consists of an elastic material, it is permanently deformed in accordance with this force. The core diameter becomes smaller and the juice drainage cross section in the grooves 5 is reduced, which hinders the juice drainage.
  • b) When the pressing process takes place, tensile forces 20 also act along the filter 6. Since the cuff 8 consists of an elastic material, when such tensile forces 20 occur above a certain amount, it is pulled with the filter 6 through an annular gap, which between the Core holder 7 and the drainage core 4 are formed is. This leads to malfunctions.
  • c) Another cause of the fault is due to the fact that, due to the tensile forces 20 on the filter 6, forces act in the longitudinal direction on the outer circumference of the cuff 8 due to the friction between the filter and the cuff. The friction between the cuff 8 and the drainage core 4 on the inner circumference of the cuff, however, holds the cuff in place, so that the longitudinal forces on the outer circumference lead to longitudinal shearing and thus to a reduction in the outer diameter of the cuff 8. This in turn leads to the fact that the clamping force 22 between the core holder 7 and cuff 8 for fixing the filter 6 decreases so much that the filter 6 is pulled out between the clamping parts. This also results in a malfunction.

The disadvantages described are therefore due to the rubber-elastic properties of the parts mentioned. However, it is not possible to do without elastically deformable parts, since otherwise the service life of the filter 6 is shortened.

The invention has for its object to avoid the disadvantages mentioned by a device of the type mentioned.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by at least one support element for the cuff, which is connected to the cuff in such a way that its deformability in a partial area located in the fastening area is severely restricted compared to the remaining part.

It proves to be particularly advantageous if the support element is designed as a sleeve with high bending rigidity. Further preferred embodiments are characterized in the claims.

The invention is closer in the following description and the drawings, which illustrate exemplary embodiments explained.

Fig. 1 anschliessenden freien Abschnittes 25 der Stulpe 8'.FIG. 2 shows a cuff 8 'similar to the type already shown and explained in FIG. 1. However, a metal sleeve 23 is inserted into the cuff 8' as a support element, and the connection between the metal sleeve and the cuff can be detachable or fixed. The metal sleeve 23 closes in the fastening area of the drainage core 4 according to. Fig. 1 flush with the cuff 8 'and extends with its other end so far that there is an unsupported zone 24 of the cuff 8'. The length of the zone 24 is approximately equal to or less than the jacket thickness 45 according to the fastening area of the drainage core 4. Fig. 1 subsequent free section 25 of the cuff 8 '.

The metal sleeve 23 eliminates the disadvantages of the known drainage element mentioned above in connection with FIG. 1, namely the deformations on the grooves 5 for the drainage and the extraction of the rubber-elastic cuff 8 and the filter 6 between the core holder 7 and the drainage core 4.

Fig. 1 zur Abstützung in die Hülse 26. Hierbei kann auf die Scheibe 10 verzichtet werden. In the exemplary embodiment of the cuff 8 'according to FIG. 3, its support is achieved by a sleeve 26, which lies partly inside the cuff 8'. The sleeve 26 projects axially over the cuff 8 'at its end by a piece of length 27. The resulting protruding edge serves for better force introduction from the cross pin 11 according to FIG. Fig. 1 for support in the sleeve 26. Here, the disc 10 can be omitted.

Die hierbei entstandenen Ränder 29, 30 verbessern die Krafteinleitung in die Hülse 28.Fig. 4 shows a variant of the cuff 8 ', in which the supporting sleeve 28 is flanged on both sides. The resulting edges 29, 30 improve the introduction of force into the sleeve 28.

The support element 31 assumes part of the functions of the cuff 8 'according to FIGS. 2-4. The support structure is now achieved by connecting the molded parts 8 ″ and 31 with different deformation properties. The support element 31 is made of a rigid plastic and is connected to the elastic cuff 8 ″ by a snap lock 32. This structure allows the replacement of damaged cuffs 8 '', the support element 31 being reusable.

Fig. 6 shows a cuff 8 ', in which a sleeve 36 is inserted as a support element so that an axial fixation occurs. Such a combination is advantageously produced in the press or injection molding process.

Auch hier ist der Drainagekern 4 von einer Stulpe 8''' umgeben, in welche eine Hülse 23' als Stützelement eingelegt ist.7 shows a connection part for the drainage element 3 in the pressure plate 1, in which the filter 6 is fixed between two conical components 37, 38. Here, too, the drainage core 4 is surrounded by a cuff 8 '' ', in which a sleeve 23' is inserted as a support element.

Diese Ausführungsform erleichtert die Montage und verbilligt die Stulpe 8''' als Verschleissteil.FIG. 8 shows a connecting part similar to that according to FIG. 7, the conical component 38 having a sleeve 23 ″ as a supporting element for the cuff 8 ″ ″ being made from one part. This embodiment facilitates assembly and makes the cuff 8 '' 'cheaper as a wearing part.
