Description

The invention relates to a roof vent made of plastic with a dome protruding over the top of a roof covering plate and a ventilation pipe carried from its outer surface via a cap.

A roof vent of this type is known from FR-A-2 238 826. On the basis of a roof covering plate corresponding to the respective type of tile, this is further developed into a dome, which carries a ventilation pipe provided with a cap-shaped collar, which is also made of plastic. Such solutions allow inclination adjustment and also include fan covers, antenna passages etc.

It is also known to cover bushings that protrude above the roof skin with copper sheet and generally also to protect bushings with a hood or a helmet-like roof made of this material. The weathering, which becomes effective over time, leads to the formation of rust. This bronze or verdigris-colored patina, which is regarded as welcome, creates a generally valued exterior of such roof openings. Such a roof vent is known from the brochure KLÖBER, edition 1970, page 1 (studio booth K 202 70).

From DE-PS 284 185 there is still the suggestion to design such lead-throughs made of sheet metal also in an inclination-adjustable arrangement of the ventilation pipe.

Die die Partikel nach auswärts hin noch überlagernde Plastikhaut wird durch Polieren der Produkte entfernt, so daß die metallenen Partikel freiragen und so dem Produkt ein Aussehen geben, wie z.B. echte Bronze, Messing, Englischsilber.WO-A-9 206 132 finally shows a casting process which, in addition to many other objects, also provides for the production of roof tiles Which method lighter metal particles, such as copper, are dragged to the surface by floating bodies in the still liquid state of the casting compound, while relatively heavier particles sink in the casting compound. Such particles then form the top surface and the bottom surface of the respective product. The plastic skin which still overlaps the particles towards the outside is removed by polishing the products, so that the metal particles are exposed and thus give the product an appearance, such as real bronze, brass, English silver.

The object of the present invention is to give the above-mentioned functional elements of modern roofing a correspondingly sought-after appearance, over longest periods of use and without the use of expensive metals.

This object is achieved by the invention specified in claim 1.

The subsequent subclaims are advantageous developments of the subject matter of the invention.

As a result of such a design, a coating on roof ventilators, etc., which is hardly inferior to the impression of classic patina, is achieved. The durability is also surprisingly high. This results in a remarkable lifespan. The production costs are understandably far below those of classic copper sheet covers. Appropriate retrofitting of roof vents that have already been installed is also open. In addition, a high level of contour accuracy can be achieved, as is not the case, for example, with copper sheet. Advantageously, the procedure is now such that at least the outer surface of the dome and the ventilation pipe Patina green plus protective lacquer layer, which in turn is covered with a copper lacquer layer. The gradual weathering of the plastic, accompanied by the "braking" degradation of the plastic, brings the desired patina over the longest service life. With a continuous copper content, the effect remains practically unlimited. The last applied copper lacquer layer, containing a binder and Isolex copper flakes as well as finely ground copper powder, is exposed to weathering. The copper lacquer layer is gradually weathering. A bronze brown - to black or, depending on the setting, also green discolouration therefore occurs over time. The weather-related degradation of this outer layer takes several years and also includes the degradation of the resin binder used. The degradation due to weathering is of course different in different locations. In addition to more intensive areas, there are also such delayed layer reductions. Under normal circumstances, this would lead to a kind of staining. However, since there is a protected primer that corresponds to the color of the weatherable layer, here the patina-green layer mentioned, the same appearance is retained. By making the protected patina paint visible, the roof ventilator takes on the appearance of a natural copper patina, which is also effective in this late phase. Knowing the relevant properties of the paints used, periods of up to 30 or more years can be achieved in which the roof ventilator shows the desired weathering or the impression of rusty weather. Even in cases in which the applied coating would be removed prematurely due to injuries or damage, the plastic portion is pigmented dark brown, so as to give the visual impression that the patina has not yet been fully used Has. This dark brown pigmentation of the plastic part is achieved with iron oxide pigments, which have the property of turning gray within 2 to 3 years, so that there is no significant contrast to the patina layer, at least visually in places. With regard to the patina-green protective lacquer layer, weather-resistant polyacrylic resins, polyurethane resins, vinyl copolymer / isocyanate resins are used. This coating tolerates loads and influences resulting from temperature fluctuations in a special way. Nevertheless, it must be taken into account that, as a rule, an area must be covered that is between minus 30 ° C and plus 65 ° C. It is therefore important to ensure that the coefficient of expansion is the same in relation to the layers and to the substrate. The copper lacquer layer is a vinyl copolymer / isocyanate. The desired properties are also available with regard to this copper lacquer layer. The invention further suggests that the patina green layer and the protective lacquer layer are applied wet-on-wet one on top of the other. The latter results in a high adhesive effect of the layers. A wet-on-wet application is particularly advantageous if the patina green layer is speckled. The protective lacquer layer extends like a protective screen over the patina green layer. Both layers appear as homogeneous layers, optimally fulfilling their respective properties. The correspondingly translucent or transparent protective lacquer layer - a clear lacquer is used - does not impair the color effect of the well-preserved primer, which simulates natural weathering. In certain cases, this two-layer primer is preferable to a primer that contains a protective component. Note the prevailing at the place of use Climate and also the environmental conditions. If these are significant, an isolated protective layer may prove to be more useful. It can therefore consistently prove to be cheaper, in particular more economical, under different conditions if patina green and protective lacquer are applied in a single layer. The thickness of the copper lacquer layer is 15-60 µm with a copper content of 5-30% in the binder. Such interference leads to a homogeneous throughput of the copper content. The addition of the copper content also proves advantageous in terms of temperature. It is namely effectively avoided, for example in the case of dark or black roof covering panels or roof ventilators, that such roof ventilators heat up too much by sun exposure, for example in the sense that their roof covering panel warps, that is to say bends. The temperature difference below towards the top is between 5 and 10 ° C. In the layer application process, it is organizationally advantageous insofar as practically only one color needs to be kept in stock, namely the copper lacquer layer. Regarding the heat charge, on the other hand, it should be noted that it still almost reaches the real copper plates, with the basic advantage that snow lying there melts away correspondingly quickly when exposed to the sun. In particular, short protruding ventilation pipes cannot snow up.

The upper cross-sectional area can be occupied by a grid-shaped insert 5.

Alternatively, and not shown, the free end of the upper tube part 3 'can also be fitted with an impact-proof hood.

In order to achieve an inclination adjustment of the ventilation pipe 3 relative to the inclination plane of the roof covering plate 1, said ventilation pipe is supported on the top of the dome 2 by a collar-like cap 6. The latter forms a convex guide surface.

The passage hole in the dome 2, with its longer oval axis lying in the inclination plane of the roof covering plate 1, has an elongated hole which allows the ventilation pipe 3, which is vertically aligned in the drawing, to have an adjustment range of 20 ° to 40 ° in the said extent.

The set position can be secured via a locking and locking device 7.

The lower pipe part 3 "acts as a connecting piece to a ventilation hose, not shown. The latter is made of soft PVC and is usually designed as a harmonic body.

The roof vent material D contains dark brown to gray-green pigmentation. Iron oxide is a good choice here. This has the property of turning gray within a few years with a tinge of bronze green.

The outer surface of the dome 2 and the fan tube 3 with cap 6 is coated. According to one embodiment, it is a multi-layer application.

Starting at the outer surface 8 of the object, the first exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 2 is a three-layer application and the order shown in FIG. 3 is a two-layer application.

The first layer is a patina green layer A. Layer A is followed by a protective lacquer layer B. It is transparent, at least translucent. It is clear varnish. These layers are products based on weather-resistant polyacrylic resins, polyurethane resins, vinyl copolymer / isocyanate resins.

The third, outer layer is followed by a copper lacquer layer C based on vinyl copolymer / isocyanate. The latter layer C is weatherable. It forms a rusty greenish to greenish-colored rust, which occurs over time on copper plates as well. Depending on the equipment, brown to black discoloration may occur, as is known from bronze sculptures etc. This desired effect results over a period of several years and also from area to area in different intensities. Thus, a faster patination effect occurs on the firedamp side, with correspondingly faster removal.

A/B.However, this does not disturb the desired optical effect, since the primer in the same color suggests this effect, here only in a much more effective protected removal zone, namely the patina green plus protective lacquer layer A / B.

Dagegen beträgt die Dicke der Kupferlack-Schicht C ca. 20 µm, ihr Gewicht beträgt ca. 50 Gramm pro m .The patina green layer A has an application thickness of approx. 20-30µm and a weight of approx. 80 grams per m. The protective lacquer layer B is approx. 20-30 µm thick and has an m weight of approx. 80-100 grams. In contrast, the thickness of the copper lacquer layer C is about 20 microns, its weight is about 50 grams per m.

The range of the thickness of the copper lacquer layer C is between 15 and 60 μm. The copper content to the binder content ranges between 5% and 30%. It is a mixture of copper flakes and copper powder. The platelet size is 50 µm, that of the powder 1-5 µm.

The protected primer in the form of layers A / B has a service life of approx. 30 years.

Even an acceleration of the "natural erosion" due to damage would not disturb the "picture" due to the approximately same-colored, iron oxide-shot plastic. Different types of weathering give rise to an even more lively structure that is practically equivalent to that of classic copper plates.

The same effect also results in the variant or solution according to FIG. 3, in which the patina green and protective lacquer are applied in a single layer, there designated A / B, which layer then the copper lacquer layer C follows. Visually, layer A / B is made clear by mixing the hatch symbols.

Figur 4 zeigt die der direkten Bewitterung ausgesetzte Seite der Kupferlack-Schicht C in Form einer gewissen Zerklüftung.FIG. 4 shows the side of the copper lacquer layer C exposed to direct weathering in the form of a certain fissure.

It can be seen in the drawing in FIG. 1 that only the strongly exposed parts of the roof covering plate D are coated in the manner described, that is to say dome 2, ventilation pipe 3 and its cap 6 and the visible side of the grid-shaped insert 5.

Since the weathering effect also continues into the joint area F between the underside of the collar-like cap 6 and the top of the dome 2, a cooperation which ensures the position of the ventilation pipe 3 once set is drawn here. In addition, there is a sealing decay layer that conforms to the heat and cold-related deformations.

The roof vent D which is shown in part in FIG. 5 and embodies the other exemplary embodiment, only the ventilation pipe 3 is partially shown there, has coppering in such a way that at least the outer surface 8 of the ventilation pipe 3 and that of the dome 2 have a plastic-overlaid copper portion. The copper portion is symbolized by a rich scoring of the cross-sectional area. These points represent powdery and / or platelet-shaped particles 9. It is a matter of mixing into the plastic injection molding compound of the roof vent D which forms the roof vent D.

Of course, the cap 6 molded onto the ventilation pipe 3 and the roof covering plate 1 are also included in this copper plating.

Der Kupfer-Anteil liegt bei 5-30%. Die Plättchengröße beträgt ca. 50 µm, die des Kupferpulvers liegt bei 1-5 µm.The copper content is 5-30%. The platelet size is approx. 50 µm, that of the copper powder is 1-5 µm.

The copper powder is homogeneously distributed over the entire cross-sectional thickness of the body forming the roof vent D. With regard to the term "plastic overfanqen" it is to be understood that such copper particles are embedded in the outer surface 8 (kind of crumble cake coating), that is to say partially protrude, as well as directly below the outer surface in a still completely covered position, which But over time, the degradation of the binder or the plastic mass gradually exposes them practically in layers, thus creating the desired patina-green visible surface due to their weathering. It is understandable that this takes place effectively over the longest periods of time in the manner described.
