Description

The present invention relates to a loop for ski boots comprising a tensioning lever articulated on a base and having a longitudinal notch in which is articulated a tie connected, on the other hand, to a fastening member.

Une telle boucle est décrite, par exemple, dans le brevet US 4 051 611.Such a loop is described, for example, in US patent 4,051,611.

Once mounted on a ski boot, such a loop forms a projection. If such a projection is hardly annoying for a skier who does not practice competition, it is quite different for the skier practicing competition, in particular slalom. During a slalom, the shoe often meets the pegs. The stake coming up against the loop, can unbalance the skier and cause him to fall. The impact on the loop can also cause the opening of the latter, or even its tearing.

It is well known to provide the front part of the shell of the shoe with a ramp-shaped projection placed in front of the loops to deflect the stake so that it does not meet the loops.

The formation of a projection or deflector on the shell results in an excess thickness which complicates the molding.

The object of the invention is to produce a loop making it possible to obtain the same deflecting effect as with the projection of the shell, and thus to eliminate this projection.

The loop according to the invention is characterized in that the notch of the tension lever, and therefore also the tie rod, are offset laterally relative to the median longitudinal axis of the tension lever, towards the side of the loop intended for be disposed towards the rear of the shoe, and that the part of the tensioning lever situated on the opposite side of the notch has, over at least part of its width, a height decreasing towards the side intended to be disposed towards the front of the shoe.

This decreasing height can be obtained by a chamfer forming an inclined plane on which the stake comes to slide.

The lateral offset of the tie rod keeps all the necessary resistance to the buckle despite the thinning of one of its sides.

Loops with a certain asymmetry are certainly already known, but only at their ends, for purely aesthetic reasons.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.

The only view of the drawing represents a perspective view.

We recognize in the drawing a base 1 intended to be fixed on a ski boot shell by means of two rivets. This base 1 has two vertical ears 2 and 3 on which a tensioning lever 4 is articulated by means of two coaxial axes, one of which, 5, is visible in the drawing. The tensioning lever has a deep notch 6 extending longitudinally from the axis of articulation of the tensioning lever towards its end. In this notch is articulated a tie rod 7 around an axis 8 passing through the tensioning lever. This tie rod, of adjustable length, is connected, by an axis 9, to a hooking member 10 having two parallel arms 11 and 12 connected at their ends by a transverse bar 13 intended to be hooked in a denture fixed on a opposite part of the shoe shell. At its end, the tensioning lever 4 is further provided with a short auxiliary lever 14 articulated on the narrowed end of the tensioning lever 4 around an axis 15. This auxiliary lever 14 is intended to facilitate gripping of the tensioner lever 4 while giving this tensioner lever an end which tapers towards the surface of the shoe so as to prevent accidental catching of the end of the tensioner lever.

The notch 6 is offset laterally, relative to the median longitudinal axis of the tensioning lever, in the direction of the side of the buckle intended to be disposed towards the rear of the shoe. On the other hand, the opposite side of the buckle, that is to say the side of the buckle looking towards the front of the shoe, has a chamfer 16 formed on the tensioning lever 4 and a corresponding chamfer 17 formed on the latching member 10. The chamfer 16 of course also extends on the auxiliary lever 14 as indicated by the chamfer 16a. The end of the auxiliary lever 14 is also partially chamfered as shown in 18. The chamfers 16, 17 and 18 form a ramp or an inclined plane such that when a slalom stake hits the loop, it slides on this inclined plane and it is thus moved away from the loop without causing snagging.

Instead of a chamfer, it is possible to provide a progressively decreasing thickness in the form of a rounding.

In the case where the latching member 10 is replaced by a simple rectangular ring of round section, only the tensioning lever, with or without auxiliary lever 14, has a lateral chamfer.

The notch and the tie rod need not be offset laterally relative to the axis of symmetry of the base, but the offset relative to the median axis of the tensioning lever can be achieved by the addition of a lateral ramp on one side of the tensioner lever.
