Description

The present invention relates to a fastening for a machine snow sports such as short skiing, short skiing hiking, snowshoeing, surfing, including a base plate bearing, for retaining a shoe, means of front retainers and means of rear restraint consisting of a mounted heel piece sliding on the base plate and a strap traction acting on the heel to pull it in direction of the front retaining means.

Such a binding is known, for snowshoeing, of patent FR 2 717 093. In this attachment, the means rear restraint consist of a shoe sliding freely on a base plate, this shoe being pulled forward by a strap attached under the shoe and connected to a front cover hinged on a stirrup fixed to the front of the plate and constituting a stop before. A second shoe is connected to the sliding shoe strap passing over the instep to press the heel of the shoe on the base plate. Two actions on two different straps are therefore required, one to fix the shoe longitudinally on the plate base and the other to tackle the heel of the shoe on the baseplate. On the other hand, in the absence of a shoe, the sliding shoe can be move freely along the base plate and there therefore it is not possible to keep a Presetting the position of this shoe on the plate based.

The object of the invention is to simplify and improve the fitting and tightening a binding of this type and to obtain, simultaneously, a preset of the means of restrained back.

The binding according to the invention is characterized in that that the base plate is fitted with a rack on part of its length and in that the heel piece is provided on each side with a lever articulated in a intermediate point on the heel around an axis transverse to the base plate, the lower arms of these levers being connected to the ends of a hoop coming to hang in the rack of the plate base and the upper arms of the levers being connected to the traction strap intended to pass diagonally on the instep of the shoe.

A single strap ensures the thrust of the heel forward and heel plating against the base plate. In the clamping position, the joints of the lower lever arms on the hoop engaged in the rack of the plate base transform into fixed points and the levers then work as levers of the second kind around these fixed points. The diagonal effort exerted by the strap passing over the instep is therefore multiplied on the axis of articulation of the levers on the heel. The effort on the instep can therefore be kept within reasonable limits, without unpleasant pressure on the instep, while ensuring a significant push from the heel towards the front, i.e. excellent support of the shoe in the longitudinal direction. These efforts can be changed by adjusting the length of the lever arm.

We will also note the double function of the roll bar. On the one hand, it keeps a preset of the position of the heel piece and, on the other hand, it serves to point of support for the heel levers.

When the roll bar is engaged in a particular notch of the rack, in the bare position, the heel piece can be moved back until the hoop occupies a position parallel to the plane of the base plate. This easily achieves a heel stroke about 25 mm, which is more than enough to easy and comfortable footwear. In position stripped down, the adjustment is kept and the heel piece does not cannot move freely on the base plate.

The maximum amplitude of the displacement of the points hinge on the levers when rotation of this lever is advantageously greater than not from the rack. The arch can thus occupy two different positions for the same size shoe and you get a continuous adjustment and the assurance of a good tightening.

The front retaining means can be constituted with a simple strap. This will be the case, for example, for a surf binding.

The front retaining means can be constituted a fixed stop ensuring only a hold longitudinal. In this case, the attachment includes intermediate retaining means constituted, by example, a strap.

In general, the binding according to the invention, which is not triggered, is intended for sport not requiring such a trigger.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a mode execution of a binding according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows a perspective view of a fixation.

Figure 2 is a plan view, from above, of the rear part.

Figures 3 to 6 illustrate four successive phases a boot sequence.

The fixing includes a base plate 1 coming from a part with a front stop 2 in the form of a wall vertical curved so as to follow the shape of the front end of a shoe. Plate 1 is in light metal or injected synthetic material. In the example shown, this plate is hinged to the front around an axis 3 on a shaped plate 4 bracket, this plate itself being fixed on a ski 5. The base plate 1 has, on its face upper, a rack 6 with five notches obliques distributed in two parallel rows. These notches are preferably curved so as to better ensure their role of restraint.

At the rear, the base plate 1 carries a heel piece 7 sliding mounted on the base plate 1. At this indeed, the heel piece 7 is provided with a stirrup 8 rigidly connected to the heel piece 7 and passing under the base plate 1. The heel piece 7 has, like the front stop 2, a vertical wall curved so to adapt to the rounded heel of the shoe. This vertical wall rises on a flat base 9. On the sides of stirrup 8 are formed two coaxial pivots axis 10, on which two levers of the first genus 11 and 12, identical, parallel and symmetrical relative to the vertical plane passing through the longitudinal axis of the base plate 1. Near the lower end of the lever arms of the levers 11 and 12 are articulated, with bent ends 13 and 14 of a rectangular arch 15 made of a wire steel of circular section. This hoop 15 is intended to come and hang in one of the notches of the rack 6. The upper arm of levers 11 and 12 is attached and articulated, at a point 22, at the ends a strap 16 consisting of a toothed belt 17 and a belt 18 provided with a pawl 19 intended to engage in the notches of the toothed belt 17. A such a strap is well known in the field of sports shoes and bindings.

Between the front stop 2 and the heel piece 7, the base 1 is provided with a second strap 20 similar to the strap 16.

How it works and the benefits of fixing will appear in the description of a sequence of footwear made in relation to Figures 4 to 7.

Figure 3 shows the preparation and presetting of fixation. It would be fairer to speak of pre-adjustment of the binding to the shoe size shoe used. The strap 20 is closed, but relaxed. The strap 16 is open. Caliper 15 is cleared from the rack so that the heel piece 7 can be moved freely along the base plate 1. Depending on the size of the shoe, the values of which are indicated on the base plate, the arch 15 is engaged in one of the notches of the rack 6. If, for example, the rack has a pitch of 18 mm, the arch 15 can occupy two positions in the rack 6 for a same shoe size. In other words, the amplitude of displacement of the articulation points of the arch 15 on the levers 11 is greater than the pitch of the House warming party. This allows continuous adjustment and gives great flexibility of use when fixing.

Once the arch 15 is engaged in the rack 6, the heel piece 7 can be removed back in its extreme position, as shown in figure 4. In this position, the arch 15 is parallel to the plane of the base plate 1. The shoe 21 is then inserted under the strap 20 in a position natural slightly tilted forward, until that it comes into abutment against the front stop 2.

Once the shoe rests on the base plate 1, the intermediate strap 20 is tightened which comes to maintain the anterior part of the shoe against base plate 1, as shown in FIG. 5. Next, the attachment of the strap 16 by passing it diagonally over the neck foot of the shoe.

Finally, we tighten the strap 16 as shown in Figure 6. When tightening, the pulling on levers 11 and 12 has the effect of pivot these around the ends 13 and 14 of the arch 15 retained in the rack 6. This pivoting has the effect of driving the heel piece 7 forward. Through leverage, the component parallel to the base plate 1 of the forces exerted on the axes 10 is significantly greater than the pulling force on the strap 16. The shoe 21 is thus firmly held between the front stop 2 and the heel piece 7. The stroke maximum of the heel piece is about 25 mm in the example shown.

En fonction de la longueur des bras supérieurs des leviers, cette course pourra varier entre 20 et 30 mm.Depending on the length of the upper arms of the levers, this stroke may vary between 20 and 30 mm.

The heel could be equipped with a stirrup intended to come hang on the back sidewalk of a shoe.

Heel piece 7 could have a support element back for the leg.
