Description

The invention relates to a folding cardboard packaging from 2 cardboard blanks, which is particularly suitable for books with inserted bonuses.

In the direct sale of books by post, a marketing concept has become increasingly popular in recent years, in which the buyer is sent bonuses enclosed with the book. This marketing concept also includes the fact that every customer has the option of returning the book sent to them, whereby they can keep the attached bonus. Items of very different forms are offered as rewards, but they should be sent regularly together with the book. So far, it has been common for the books themselves to be machine-packed, but for the bonuses to be added by hand. Further problems arise from the fact that, due to the variety of premiums and the different dimensions of the books, there must be variable dimensions for the book insert compartment and also variable dimensions for the premium insert compartment. If one then also takes into account that well over 1 million books are to be sent to large publishers per month, then there is an imperative that the dispatch should be carried out by machine as far as possible.

A packaging machine is known from GB 670 019, with which cardboard boxes can be machined from two cardboard strips. However, the carton blanks presented in GB 670 019 have the disadvantage that the cartons to be folded with them consist of only a single compartment. To send two items, such as a book with These boxes are not suitable for an additional premium, since the two items could damage each other during shipping.

So there is still a need to develop folding cardboard packaging that can be processed fully automatically, enables variable compartment design, offers adequate protection against shipping stresses and enables problem-free disposal of the used packaging materials. To solve this problem, a folding cardboard packaging from two cardboard blanks is proposed, the rectangular base and cover parts being connected and formed in one piece with the longitudinal sides divided by pre-grooved fold lines and the transverse sides being connected to a part corresponding in size to the base part by means of multiple folds and pre-grooved fold lines and are formed in one piece, which is characterized in that the rectangular base and cover parts are further connected with a tab and that the part forms an insert which is provided with a division by folding around pre-grooved, transverse fold lines.

The folding cardboard packaging according to the invention, which can be processed fully automatically by machine, is characterized in that the packaging consists of 2 cardboard blanks which, on the one hand, provide adequate protection for the goods to be dispatched, variable subdivision of the inner compartments and, on the other hand, processing on modern packaging machines of the order of about 50 packs / Minute allows.

The packaging according to the invention consists of a first blank which successively later form the lid, a longitudinal wall, the bottom, the second longitudinal side and the closure flap. These and the long sides are divided by pre-grooved fold lines. Grooves are understood to mean a process in which folded edges are pressed into the blanks by means of a blunt object. Without the previous creasing, the cut would otherwise tear at the folded edges during erection and thus lead to unstable and unsightly packaging.

After erection and folding, the second blank forms the transverse sides of the packaging in the form of two cushions and an insert corresponding to the size of the base part, whereby a further cushion can be variably formed by pre-grooved fold lines for the purpose of dividing the total area.

In the case of machine processing, the insert is first processed by erecting and gluing the upholstery forming the transverse walls and erecting the subdivision, after which this insert is then connected to the first blank, for example by gluing with so-called hot melts. Then one or more books or a book and a bonus are inserted, the long sides of the first blank are folded up, the lid is folded down and the packaging is closed with the cover flap, for example by gluing.

The subdivision of the inner compartment of this packaging is variable and can therefore be designed depending on the creasing of the blank so that various books or a book or another object can be accommodated in this packaging. Such packaging is not only suitable for sending books, but also, for example, for other shock and pressure sensitive objects that are to be shipped in large numbers and in standardized dimensions.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings:
illustration 1

The blank forming the insert (1) is in one piece and has three creasing lines at each end, which in the erected state form the transverse walls (2a, 2b) in the form of a cushion by folding and turning inwards. At a variable position of the insert (1) there are three further spaced pre-grooved fold lines which, when erected along these lines, also form a downwardly open cushion (3) for dividing the insert (1).

The second blank consists of the cover (7) and the bottom (6) as well as the longitudinal walls (4a, 4b) indicated by pre-grooved fold lines and the closure flap (8). With the machine Assembling and erecting the packaging, the blank of the insert (1) is first folded and the side pads glued. In this state, the insert is also glued to the bottom surface (6), whereupon the longitudinal sides are then folded up and the flap and the lid are connected to one another by gluing or in a similar manner.
