Abstract

The packaging has bottom and top sections (1,2), each having a number of relatively hinged sidewalls (3-10), with flaps (15-18) hinged to the longitudinal edges of the bottom section. At least 2 of these flaps (15,17) have hinged coupling flaps (21,22) along their opposite longitudinal edges (19,20), for connection to the longitudinal edges of corresponding sidewalls (5,6) of the top section.

Description

The invention relates to a foldable packaging with a bottom part and an upper packing part that can be separated therefrom, each of which has side walls articulated to one another in series, bottom flaps being arranged on the longitudinal edges of the bottom part.

Retail goods are often packaged in foldable packaging. During delivery, the packaging should provide the goods contained therein with adequate protection against, in particular, mechanical external influences and must often be stackable. The upper part of the packaging is then separated from the bottom part on the shelf of the retailer, the bottom part also called the goods tray is used to present the goods to be sold. The separation of the upper part of the packaging from the bottom part should leave no or at least little visible mechanical damage on the latter, so as not to impair the visual impression of the sales presentation.

From DE-B-39 40 872 a packaging according to the preamble of the main claim is known. The side walls of the bottom part have fastening tabs which are glued to the side walls of the upper packaging part and thus establish the connection between the bottom part and the top packaging part. To separate the upper packaging part, perforation connections between the fastening tabs and the side walls of the bottom part are loosened, then the upper one Lift the packaging part with the fastening tabs attached to it from the bottom part.

A disadvantage of this known packaging is the relatively complex manufacture. Bottom and top packaging must be cut separately and glued together in a separate step. After the perforation connections between the fastening tabs and side walls of the base part have been separated and the upper packaging part has been removed, U-shaped cutouts remain in the side walls of the base part in the areas of the separated attachment tabs, which impair the aesthetic impression of the base part as sales packaging intended for product presentation.

The invention has for its object to provide a foldable packaging of the type mentioned, which is easy to manufacture and unfold, and in which the upper part of the packaging can be easily separated from the base part without any visual impairment.

The invention solves this problem in that connection tabs are articulated on the longitudinal edges opposite the side walls of the bottom part of at least two bottom tabs, which releasably connect these bottom tabs to the longitudinal edges of the side walls of the upper packaging part.

In the context of the invention, the term “longitudinal edges” designates those edges of the flaps or side walls that run essentially perpendicular to the fold lines that connect adjacent side walls (longitudinal side walls and end side walls) to one another. The longitudinal edges of the side walls are those edges that point up and down in the unfolded, ready-to-use state of the packaging. The longitudinal edges of the bottom flaps are those edges which are connected to the longitudinal edges of the side walls of the base part, or are opposite them.

The releasable connection between the base part and the upper packaging part is established by means of the connecting tabs. The connections between connecting tabs and associated side walls of the upper packaging part can preferably be released in the region of the longitudinal edges of the side walls of the upper packaging part. These releasable connections are expediently perforated sections; a tear-off strip is particularly preferred, by tearing off the connection between the side wall and the connecting tab can be released.

To unfold the packaging according to the invention, starting from the flat state of the blank, the upper packaging part together with the connecting flaps is folded over along the folding line connecting flap-bottom flaps of the bottom part and placed on the bottom part. The transverse extents of the connecting straps (perpendicular to their longitudinal edges) preferably coincide with the transverse extents of the associated bottom flaps, so that after this folding over, the lower longitudinal edges of the side walls of the upper packaging part are flush with the corresponding longitudinal edges of the side walls of the bottom part. The connecting straps are now over the associated bottom straps.

The packaging is then unfolded and glued in a conventional manner, which is explained in more detail below. In the unfolded state, the connecting flaps lie above the bottom flaps, form part of the packaging base and reinforce it.

If the packaging base is to have a high load-bearing capacity, it may be expedient if the longitudinal extension of each connecting link corresponds to the longitudinal extension of the associated bottom link, since in this way the entire area of the packaging base is reinforced by the connecting links. In this case, the connection extends between the side walls of the upper packaging part and the Connection straps expediently only over part of the longitudinal extent of each connection strap, in the remaining length sections there is no connection. This limitation of the connection to a certain length section facilitates the subsequent loosening of this connection in order to separate the upper packaging part.

It is expedient if additional cover flaps are hinged to the side walls of the upper packaging part, which are folded into a cover in a conventional manner when the packaging is closed.

In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the bottom part and the upper packaging part are connected to one another in one piece, that is to say consist of a single common blank. The releasable connection between the side walls of the upper packaging part and the connecting tabs will then usually be designed as a perforation.

An advantageous material for the packaging according to the invention is corrugated cardboard.

Darin zeigen:

An embodiment is described below with reference to the drawings. In it show:
Fig. 1
a cut of a packaging according to the invention;
Fig. 2
schematically in a partial sectional view an unfolded packaging according to the invention.

The packaging according to the invention basically has a bottom part 1 (goods tray) and an upper packaging part 2 (hood). Each of these parts has longitudinal side walls 3, 4, 5, 6 and end side walls 7, 8, 9, 10. The adjacent transverse edges of these side walls are connected to one another via fold lines or folds. On the in the unfolded and The upright state of the packaging, upper longitudinal edges of the hood side walls 5, 6, 8, 10, cover flaps 11, 12, 13, 14 are arranged, with which the unfolded packaging can be closed in a known manner.

Bottom flaps 15, 16, 17, 18, which form the bottom of the packaging, are arranged on the lower longitudinal edges of the side walls 3, 7, 4, 9 of the base part 1 in the unfolded state. The longitudinal edges 19, 20 of the bottom flaps 15, 17 belonging to the long side walls 3, 4 are connected via folding lines with connecting flaps 21, 22, the diametrically opposite longitudinal edge of which is connected to the lower longitudinal edges of the long side walls 5 and 6 of the hood via perforation connections or tear strips 23, 24 2 are connected.

To fold a packaging according to the invention from the blank shown in FIG. 1, the hood 2 together with the connecting flaps 21, 22 is first folded over along the folding lines 19, 20 and placed on the base part 1. The side walls 3, 7 and 5, 8 are then folded over along the fold lines which connect the side walls 7 and 4 or 8 and 6, so that they come to rest on the side walls 4, 9, 6, 10. The adhesive tabs 25, 26 (also called industrial edges) are glued to the corresponding counter surfaces of the end walls 9 and 10, respectively. Usually a hot melt adhesive is used for this purpose. Usually, the glued cardboard is delivered to the customer in a flat state.

At the customer's, the packaging can be unfolded, filled and closed using conventional unfolding and filling machines. Fig. 2 shows a partially sectioned view of an erected and closed carton.

It can be seen that the side walls 5, 6, 8, 10 of the hood stand with their lower longitudinal edges on the bottom flaps of the packaging and therefore all of them on the packaging absorbing loads and dissipating them into the ground. With sufficient material thickness of these side walls, packaging according to the invention can thus be stacked on top of one another. The side walls 3, 4, 7, 9 of the base part 1 run on the outside and partially cover the side walls 5, 6, 8, 9 of the hood 2. FIG. 2 also shows the arrangement of the connecting flap 22 and the bottom flap 17 lying one above the other, which was created when the blank shown in FIG. 1 was folded over along the fold lines 19, 20. The connecting plate 22 and the connecting plate 21, not shown in FIG. 2, thus form a reinforcement of the container bottom lying above the bottom plates 15, 17. The bottom flap 16, 18 of the end walls 7, 9 and the connecting flaps 21, 22 are flush with one another and together form a smooth bottom.

After the packaging has been sorted into the retail store shelves, the tear-off strips 23, 24 provided with zipper-like perforations, which connect the longitudinal side walls 5, 6 to the connecting flaps 21, 22, are torn off. The tear-off strips 23, 24 are accessible from the outside through cutouts or punched-outs 25, 26 in the longitudinal side walls 3, 4 of the base part 1. After these strips 23, 24 have been torn off, the entire hood 2 can be pulled up out of the base part 1. The connecting tabs 21, 22 remain in the bottom part. Due to the lower side walls of the base part 1 compared to the side walls of the hood 2, after removing the hood 2, the goods contained in the packaging are readily accessible and can be sold out of the base part 1. The tearing off of the strips 23, 24 does not damage the side walls 3, 4, 7, 9 of the base part 1, so that a pleasing sales presentation is possible.
