  • spacing devices are also provided on the surfaces of the cover and housing body opposite the end faces of the tape roll. These spacer devices keep the tape roll or, more precisely, the hub on which the tape is wound, at a minimum distance from the relevant inner surface of the cover and / or housing body. This prevents soiling of these surfaces by particles which may adhere to the end faces of the tape roll. This is particularly advantageous if the cover and / or the housing body are made of transparent material, which makes it possible to see from the outside to what extent adhesive tape that has not yet been brought is still in the housing.
  • the cover part is preferably provided with an annular groove of shallow depth open towards the opening edge of the housing body, into which the opening edge is immersed when the housing body is closed. This not least also stabilizes the wall of the housing body in its section surrounding the tape roll from the outside when the housing is closed. This stabilization is particularly advantageous in terms of material savings, since a housing with a smaller wall thickness can be used, at least in its section surrounding the tape winding. Stabilization is particularly necessary in the area of the passage of the housing body, since this passage extends over the entire width of the housing, that is to say over the entire extent of the housing in the width direction of the tape roll. As a result, it is in fact possible, when the tape roll is inserted into the housing body, to simultaneously pass the end pulled off the tape roll through the bushing.

Description

The invention relates to a tape dispenser, in particular an adhesive tape dispenser, as is known from US Pat. No. 2,681,186, from which adhesive tape wound up into a roll is pulled out, wherein individual sections can be separated from the adhesive tape.

Adhesive tape dispensers of this type are known in a wide variety of configurations, these adhesive tape dispensers being used in households and offices for a very wide variety of purposes. Basically, the known tape dispensers can be divided into two groups, namely in tape dispensers with a housing that holds the tape roll, which is closed except for a passage for the tape, and in tape dispensers without a housing, in which the tape roll is exposed. Examples of this latter group of adhesive tape dispensers can be found in DE 87 00 863 U1, DE 87 00 892 U1, DE 38 00 391 A1, DE 88 04 005 U1, DE 89 11 613 U1 and US 5 083 717. A certain problem with tape dispensers with an open housing or with an exposed roll of tape is that the tape roll is contaminated, which is on the one hand due to the electrostatic charge of the tape material and on the other hand is due to the fact that the end faces of the tape roll are to a small extent provided with adhesive material, since the entire one side of the adhesive tape is coated with adhesive material and thus also adheres to the longitudinal edges of the adhesive tape, albeit to a small extent, adhesive material.

Examples of the second group of tape dispensers mentioned above with a substantially closed housing which holds the roll of adhesive tape can be found in DE 85 10 538 U1, DE 87 03 412 U1, DE 37 31 723 C2 and DE 88 15 665 U1. With this group of band donors the opening and closing of the housing presents a certain problem, since the housing is partly screwed or the housing cover is held clamped on the rest of the housing body and is therefore difficult to remove or put on when tilted.

From the above-mentioned US-A-2 681 186 an adhesive tape dispenser is known which has a housing body with a central first projection and a housing cover with a second projection which is essentially complementary to the first projection. Both projections are designed in the manner of semiaxes and together form a holding axis on which the roll of adhesive tape is supported. Interacting means on both projections secure the housing body and the housing cover to one another.

Another adhesive tape dispenser is known from US-A-5 065 925. Here, the roll of tape is exposed, being held on a holding axis between two flanges arranged at its axial ends. One of the two flanges has an axial shoulder provided with an external thread, which can be screwed to an internal thread of the retaining axis.

The invention has for its object to provide a tape dispenser, in particular an adhesive tape dispenser for dispensing tape strips, which on the one hand protects the tape roll and on the other hand allows easy replacement of tape rolls.

The tape dispenser according to the invention has a housing which is closed except for a feedthrough for the tape, in which the tape roll or the tape roll is accommodated in a rotating manner. The housing consists of a housing body, in the housing section facing the circumferential surface of the tape roll, a passage for guiding the tape through from the tape roll to the outside is formed. The housing body is also provided with an opening which can be covered by a lid. Arranged in the housing body is an axis for rotatably holding the tape roll, the end of which facing the opening is preferably open or hollow. With the housing body open, the tape winding can thus be pushed onto the axis in the axial direction. The cover has a flat cover part covering the opening of the housing body, on the inside of which a ring shoulder is arranged which is concentric with the axis. When the housing body is closed, the ring shoulder is located in the open end of the axis of the housing body. The cover is held against the housing body by being rotated relative to the housing body when it lies against the housing body and its ring shoulder is in the axis. Interacting means are provided on the ring shoulder and on the axis, by means of which the cover is held securely on the housing body when it rotates relative to it. These interacting means are provided on the outer surface of the ring shoulder and on the inner surface of the axle. These means are a bayonet lock.

It is also possible to provide the ring extension on the axis of the housing body and on the inside of the cover for this ring extension. In any case, therefore, a plug-in / rotary connection is provided between the cover and the axis in order to secure the cover on the housing body by rotating the cover relative to the housing body.

In the case of the tape dispenser according to the invention, the housing body is closed by the cover, in that the cover is first placed on the housing body and then preferably over a very small one Angular range is rotated relative to the housing body. The means for securing the cover to the housing body engage with one another during rotation and hold the cover on the housing body. The cover preferably covers an opening which extends over one side of the housing body and is opposite one of the two end faces of the tape roll. The housing body is preferably cylindrical, that is to say in the manner of a more or less flat can, adapted to the width of the strip material to be used, which can be closed by the cover. The feedthrough is formed in the peripheral surface of this can, through which the end of the strip material which has been pulled off the strip roll is guided outwards. A generally finely toothed fixed knife is arranged outside the housing, over which the adhesive tape is drawn in order to be able to tear off the foremost end of the adhesive tape. It is aesthetically pleasing if this knife is arranged on the projecting tip of a triangular housing section connected to the housing body. This housing section has a front wall running at right angles to the standing surface of the tape dispenser and a bottom wall running at right angles thereto, the cylindrical housing body being integrally formed on the inclined wall of the housing section, in such a way that the bottom wall of the housing section runs essentially tangentially to the peripheral wall of the housing body. The bushing in the circumferential wall of the housing body essentially faces the tip of the housing section that carries the knife.

As already explained above, the means for securing the cover to the housing are a bayonet catch. Here, the approach of the cover carries at least one radially protruding outer projection (Bayonet projection), which can be moved by rotating the cover behind a radial inner projection of the axis of the housing body. The inner projection of the axis of the housing body is preferably provided with an inclined surface on its side facing away from the cover, so that the cover is moved relative to the housing body when it is rotated. The side of the inner projection facing away from the cover is moreover preferably provided with a latching recess for receiving the at least one outer projection on the ring shoulder of the cover. The cover and the housing body are thus connected to one another in the locking position so that unintentional detachment of the cover from the housing body is prevented.

To limit the rotational movement of the cover relative to the housing body, a limit stop is provided on the inner projection, against which the outer projection of the ring projection of the cover engaging behind the inner projection abuts.

The bayonet catch is preferably equipped with four bayonet projections on the ring extension of the cover, these four projections being arranged at 90 ° to one another. In contrast, on the axis of the housing body only two inner projections are provided, which are arranged diametrically opposite one another. When the cover is placed on the housing, a maximum of one rotation of the cover by 90 ° is sufficient so that the cover is secured to the housing. This makes handling the tape dispenser easier.

For the handling of the tape dispenser, it is also advantageous if the cover has a central recess in its cover part. This depression is preferably through a cylindrical in the housing body protruding neck or the like. formed, which forms the ring extension insertable into the axis of the housing body or carries it. The design of the inner recess provides improved handling of the cover when rotating relative to the housing body, by gripping the recess with the thumb of the hand and then gripping and rotating the cover by the thumb and index finger resting on the outer edge of the cover. To further improve the grip of the lid, it can be provided with a structure, for example a knurling, or generally expressed with a plurality of projections on its peripheral edge. The structuring is preferably chosen such that the tape dispenser has an appealing aesthetic appearance.

The axis of the tape dispenser on which the tape reel rests is preferably divided into two. One half of the shaft is arranged in one piece with the housing body and the other half of the shaft is arranged in one piece on the cover part of the cover. Both axle halves are aligned with one another, the axle half formed on the cover part carrying the ring shoulder which can be inserted into the end of the axle half of the housing body facing the lid. Both axle halves are preferably hollow over their entire respective axial extent. The housing receiving the tape winding is thus traversed by an axial through opening. In the case of a cylindrical housing, an annular space for receiving the tape roll is thus created. The radial extent of this annular space is not impaired by the securing mechanism between the housing body and cover, which is why the housing can be made small in size. In addition, care is taken to ensure that the cover part only bears from the outside against the opening edge delimiting the opening of the housing body, without any contact with the cover part connected protruding edge or collar protrudes into the housing body, so the housing can be made comparatively small in size. Both measures explained above make it possible to choose the size of the housing in accordance with the maximum thickness of the tapes to be accommodated. The tape dispenser provided with such a housing does not appear bulky and is therefore visually appealing in design.

The axis of the housing body carrying the tape roll preferably has a concave outer peripheral surface. The concave outer surface is preferably achieved by two conical sections that widen from the center of the axis to the two ends. This conical design or the concave design of the axis ensures that the tape roll is centered when the tape is pulled off, which is why tape rolls that are smaller than the axial length of the axle can also be used. The concave design of the axis is preferably used in the above-described configuration of the tape dispenser, in which the axis is divided into two and the cover part and the housing body each have an axis half which in this case then tapers towards its free end.

In an advantageous development of the invention, spacing devices are also provided on the surfaces of the cover and housing body opposite the end faces of the tape roll.

To improve the rotational guidance of the cover on the housing, the cover part is preferably provided with an annular groove of shallow depth open towards the opening edge of the housing body, into which the opening edge is immersed when the housing body is closed.

To improve the stability of the tape dispenser when removing tape, a holder for the housing of the tape dispenser is proposed, which has a fastening part which can be fixed on a surface and at least one protruding hook-shaped holding element arranged thereon for gripping around a retaining projection formed on the housing of the tape dispenser. The housing of the tape dispenser points with its holding projection in the direction of the hook-shaped holding element moves until the hook-shaped holding element of the holder engages around the holding projection. Preferably, either the hook-shaped holding element or the holding projection is provided with a wedge surface for wedging the holding element and holding projection. The holding element and the holding projection are preferably aligned relative to one another in such a way that when tape is pulled off the tape winding, a force acts on the housing which presses the holding element in the direction of the holding projection. This means that the connection between the tape dispenser housing and holder cannot be released even when the tape is removed.

1 and 2 show a side view and a top view of an adhesive tape dispenser 10. The adhesive tape dispenser 10 has a plastic housing 12 which has a can-like cylindrical housing body 14 which is open on one end face and has a triangular housing section 16 connected in one piece. The open side of the housing body 14 can be closed by a cover 18 (see also FIG. 3). The axial length of the housing body 14 is equal to the width of the triangular housing section 16. When viewed in a side view, the housing section 16 is essentially like a right-angled triangle, one catheter of which extends tangentially to the housing body 14 and merges into the circumferential line of the housing body 14. This cathete delimits the bottom wall 19 of the triangular housing section 16 on which the adhesive tape dispenser rests. The height of the triangular housing section 16 is slightly larger than the diameter of the housing body 14, so that the uppermost edge 20 of the housing section 16 protrudes slightly above the uppermost point of the housing body 14. At the edge 20 of the housing section 16, the latter carries an exposed toothed knife 22. A through opening 26 is formed in the peripheral wall 24 of the housing body 14 in the area of the area facing the edge 20 of the housing section 16. This lead-through opening 26 extends essentially over the entire axial length of the housing body and in the circumferential direction of the peripheral wall 24. The free end 28 of an adhesive tape 30, which leads out of the housing body 14 and extends on a hub 32 to form a tape roll or a tape roll 34 is wound. The tape roll 34 with its hub 32 is accommodated in the housing body 14. Right away A substantially semicircular projection 36 is arranged below the knife 22 on the inclined wall of the housing section 16 facing the housing body 14 (viewed in side view, limited by the hypotenuse of the housing section designed in the manner of a right-angled triangle). As indicated in FIG. 1, the free end 28 of the adhesive tape 30 is adhered to this projection 36. The free end 28 thus has the course shown in the drawing in FIG. 1 in its section between the tape winding 34 and the knife 22.

Using the figures 3 and 4, the internal structure of the housing body 14 accommodating the tape roll 34 with the cover 16 will be described below. The housing body 14 has an integrally formed, slightly conically tapering semiaxis 40 projecting inward from its closed end wall 38. The semi-axis 40 tapers towards its free end projecting into the housing body 14. As can be seen from FIG. 4, the front side wall 38 of the housing body 14 is not continuously closed, but rather has a through opening 42 which is formed by the semi-axis 40. 4, together with the semi-axis 40 arranged on the housing body 14, forms the axis 45 for rotatably holding the hub 32 and the tape winding 34, is formed on the cover 18 and, like the semi-axis 40, runs conically towards its free end rejuvenating too. The semi-axis 44 is connected to a cover part 46 of the cover 18; the cover part 46 is that portion of the cover 18 which serves to close the opening 48 defined by the lack of an end wall of the housing body 14. At the transitions of the semiaxes 40 and 44 to the end wall 38 of the housing body 14 or the cover part 46 of the cover 18, ring projections 50, 52 are formed, the mutually facing ring surfaces of which form a section Have front side wall 38 or to cover part 46. Thus, as indicated in FIG. 4, the tape roll 34 is kept at a minimum distance from the side wall 38 or the cover 18 when the hub 32 abuts the ring surfaces of the ring projections 50, 52. Due to the taper of the two semiaxes 40, 44, the circumferential or running surface 54 of the axis 45 consisting of the semiaxes 40 and 44 has a concave shape. This creates a centering effect on the hub 32 and tape roll 34 when the adhesive tape is pulled off the tape roll 34.

Fig. 4). The free end of the semi-axis 44 of the cover 14 protruding into the housing body 14 carries an annular shoulder 56 which is designed in the manner of a circumferential collar concentric with the axis 45 or the semi-axes 40, 44. The ring shoulder 56 is smaller in diameter than the free end of the semi-axis 40 of the housing body 14, which is why it is immersed in this semi-axis 40 when the housing body 14 is closed by the cover 18 (see FIG. 4). The ring extension 56 carries on its outer peripheral surface 57 four locking projections 58 which are evenly distributed over the circumference and which, when the housing body 14 is closed, lie opposite the inner surface 60 of the semiaxis 40.

Arranged on the inner surface 60 of the semiaxis 40 are two diametrically opposite projections 62 which are integrally formed on the semiaxis 40 and are aligned with the end face thereof. The projections 62 extend over 30 ° to 50 °, preferably over 40 ° in the circumferential direction on the inner surface 60 of the semiaxis 40. The rear edge of the projections 62 facing away from the cover 18 each has an inclined surface 64. Furthermore, the projections 62 are provided with stops 66 extending in the axial direction of the semi-axis 40. Between the end of the associated inclined surface 64 facing a stop 66 a stop 68 is formed in the stop 66 in the edge of each projection 62 facing away from the cover 18.

The four locking projections 58 of the ring projection 56 and the projections 62 on the inner surface 60 of the semi-axis 40 cooperate with one another in the manner of a bayonet lock in order to keep the cover 18 secured to the housing body 14. The cover 18 is placed on the opening 48 of the housing body 14, its ring extension 56 with the locking projections 58 being immersed in the end of the semi-axis 40 of the housing body 14 facing the cover 18. The angular distance between adjacent locking projections 58 of the ring extension 56 is smaller than the circumferential distance of the projections 62 of the semiaxis 40. By subsequently rotating the cover 18, two opposing locking projections 58 engage behind the projections 62 of the semiaxis 40, sliding along the inclined surfaces 64. The cover 18 is moved axially slightly in the direction of the housing body 14. When the cover 18 is turned further, the two locking projections 58 engaging behind the projections 62 enter the recesses 68, into which they engage. A further rotation of the cover 18 in the same direction of rotation is prevented, namely by the stops 66. The cover 18 is thus secured to the housing body 14 by rotation relative to it and the housing 12 or its part receiving the tape winding 34 is closed.

As shown in the figures, similar to the opening 42 in the end wall 38 of the housing body 14, there is also a through opening 76 in the cover part 46 of the cover 18, which is formed by the inwardly projecting semi-axis 44. Overall, the unit consisting of housing body 14 and cover 18 thus has a coaxial through opening 42, 76. The depression formed by the through opening 76 in the cover part 46 of the cover 18 has the advantage that the cover 18 can be gripped and rotated more easily by hand when the thumb of the hand enters the through opening 76 and with the index finger on the edge of the Cover part 46 is taken. To increase the grip, the peripheral edge 78 is knurled, as indicated in the figures. The peripheral edge 78 is also provided with an annular groove 80 which faces the peripheral edge 82 of the housing body 14 which delimits the opening 48. This opening edge 82 carries a projection 84 corresponding to the cross section of the annular groove 80, which is immersed in the annular groove 80 when the cover 18 is placed on the opening 48 and rotated. The above-described configuration of the cover and housing body is on the adhesive tape dispenser 10 of FIGS. 1 to 4 realized.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the cover 18 is made of a transparent plastic material so that it can be seen from outside to be able to check how much unused wound adhesive tape 30 is still in the housing body 14.

Using the figures 5 and 6 will be discussed below on a wall and a table holder for the adhesive tape dispenser 10 and 70 respectively. FIG. 5 shows the holder 88 which is screwed onto a vertical surface or wall 86 and which has a holding body in the form of a holding plate 90 which is screwed onto the wall 86. The holding plate 90 is provided with two protruding hook-shaped holding elements (holding-down devices) 92 arranged one behind the other, which extend over the width of the holding plate 90, which is as wide as the housing 12 of the adhesive tape dispenser 10, 70, except for a peripheral edge 94. In the bottom wall 19 of the housing section 16, which is delimited, inter alia, by the edge 20 of the housing section 16, two recesses 96 are formed, the spacing of which from one another is equal to the distance between the hook-shaped hold-down elements 92 of the holding plate 90. The size of the openings 96 is selected such that the housing 12 can be placed on the holding plate 90, the hold-down devices 92 extending through the openings 96. After the housing 12 of the adhesive tape dispenser 10 or 70 is placed on the holding plate 90, it is moved against the hold-down elements 92, which engage behind the edges 98 of the bottom wall 19 delimiting the openings 96. The housing 12 of the adhesive tape dispenser 10, 70 is held in a clamping manner on the holding plate 90 when moving in the direction of the arrows 102 in FIG. Contamination of the housing section 16 by particles penetrating into the interior through the openings 96 is prevented by the inside of the housing section 16 being indicated by 104 in FIG. 5 Wall sections a seal of the interior of the housing section 16 is achieved.

Instead of fastening the holder 88 by screws according to FIG. 5, the holder 88 according to FIG. 6 can also be fastened to a surface by gluing. The underside of the holding plate 90 is here provided with an adhesive layer 106 to which a removable protective film 108 adheres. Furthermore, in contrast to FIG. 5, FIG. 6 shows the state in which the adhesive tape dispenser 10, 70 is held fastened to the holder 88. As can be seen from FIG. 6, the housing 12 is strained when the adhesive tape is pulled off in the direction of the arrow 110 such that the edges 98 delimiting the openings 96 are pressed against the hold-down elements 92, thus releasing the housing 12 from the holder 88 when removing adhesive tape is excluded.
