Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for producing aqueous coating compositions with a tunable optical effect using module systems (mixing systems).
- module systems mixing systems
- it is suitable for the production of long-term storage-stable aqueous effect basecoats, which can be used particularly in vehicle and vehicle parts painting.
- EP-A-399 427 describes a waterborne basecoat system consisting of 5 components which, when combined, produce a finished waterborne basecoat. It is essential to the invention that the effect block, the block with the metal-containing pigments, must be manufactured and stored in an anhydrous manner. This is done by disintegrating metallic pigments in an alkyd, acrylate or polyester resin and organic solvent dissolved in solvent. Effect modules manufactured in this way contain no neutralizing agents for acidic resins. The waterborne basecoats thus formulated thus have an undesirably high proportion of solvent and a separate neutralization module is necessary. In addition, the production of these water-based paints requires strict adherence to the order in which the individual components are mixed.
- EP-A-0 468 293 and EP-A-0 471 972 describe aqueous lacquers based on various building blocks. However, it is necessary that the effect module is anhydrous.
- DE-A-41 10 520 describes a mixing system which is said to be suitable for producing aqueous pigmented coating compositions with a precisely defined tint.
- water-based paints are to be produced with it.
- the mixing system consists of various base colors (A), which contain less than 5% by weight of water, are preferably anhydrous and contain pigments, solvents and water-dilutable binders, and a pigment-free aqueous component (B), which in particular contains water-dilutable binders and / or rheological additives contains.
- the water-dilutable binders contained in component A are in solvent form and must be able to be prepared in solvent form.
- the water-based paints formulated in this way therefore have an undesirably high proportion of solvent.
- the finished coating agents are made by mixing the components directly before application, they are not stable in storage.
- the object of the invention is to provide a process for the production of aqueous coating compositions, in particular for the production of aqueous one-component effect basecoats with a low solvent content, using a modular system or mixing system or modular system which is stable in storage over a long period of time, the individual modules of the system being simple with one another are miscible to achieve a desired effect.
- module here means storage-stable, separately storable building blocks (mixed building blocks) from which a finished coating agent can be produced by mixing, which can also be adjusted to the application viscosity, if necessary.
- a finished coating agent can be produced by mixing, which can also be adjusted to the application viscosity, if necessary.

Abstract
Description
Aceton, Methylethylketon, N-Methylpyrrolidon; Ether, z.B. Dipropylenglykoldimethylether.
- Solche Aminoplastharze sind beispielsweise beschrieben in Ullmann "Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry", 5.
