Claims (11)

  1. A device (5) having a feeder (6) for feeding an insetting machine (2) for print products (4), which comprises loadable pockets (3) which are driven in succession along at least one conveying path (1) and with which means are associated for opening the print products (4) which are situated with their folds at the front in the pockets (3), wherein the feeder (6) is disposed so that it feeds approximately at right angles to the direction of conveying of the insetting machine (2) and comprises a downstream conveying section (11) which ends above the conveying path (1) of the insetting machine (2) and is formed from two endless flat belts (9, 10) which adjoin each other at an effective conveying face and circulate on deflection rollers (13), characterised in that the flat belts (9, 10) which are guided over an axis (12) of a first deflection roller (13), which axis runs approximately parallel to the direction of conveying of the insetting machine (2) and is disposed above the conveying path (1), form a conveying section (22) which runs approximately perpendicularly downwards by means of their effective conveying faces which are jointly twisted by about 90°.
  2. A device according to claim 1, having a feeder (6) which is essentially formed from a stack hopper (17) and a downstream gripper drum (14), characterised in that the flat belts (9, 10) form an undershot conveying section on the gripper drum (14).
  3. A device according to claim 1, characterised in that the front end of the conveying section (11) is constructed as a feed aperture (18) which is formed by the flat belts (9, 10) and which communicates with the stack hopper (17).
  4. A device according to claim 2, in which the fold edges, which are conveyed at the front, of the print products (7) situated in the stack hopper (17), or the edge which is conveyed at the front of a card, are disposed turned away from the conveying section (11) or the pockets (3) of the insetting machine (2).
  5. A device according to claims 1 and 2, having a feeder (6) which essentially consists of a stack hopper (17) and a downstream gripper drum (14), characterised in that the conveying section (11) comprises, at its front end, an undershot conveying channel formed from a second deflection roller (20) and the flat belts (9, 10).
  6. A device according to claim 4, in which the fold edges, which are conveyed at the front, of the print products (7) situated in the stack hopper (17), or the edge which is conveyed at the front of a card, are disposed turned towards the conveying section (11) or the pockets (3) of the insetting machine (2).
  7. A device according to claims 1 to 6, characterised in that guides (21) which support the print products (7) are disposed on the conveying section (11).
  8. A device according to claim 7, characterised in that a guide (21) formed from an upper and lower guide face is associated with the first deflection roller (13).
  9. A device according to claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the conveying section (22) which runs downwards has a position which is inclined towards the direction of conveying of the insetting machine (2).
  10. A device according to claims 1 to 9, characterised in that adjustable guide elements are disposed at the side of the conveying section (22) which runs downwards.
  11. A device according to claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the device (5) is constructed so that it can be displaced on the conveying path (1).
