In bevorzugter Ausgestaltung bestehen der Kartonstreifen und die an diesem befestigten inneren Klappen aus Wellpappe, was den Vorteil hat, dass durch dessen Verwendung in den um das Verpackunsgut umzuschlagenden Klappen beliebig viele Faltlinien vorgegeben sind. Zu diesem Zweck müssen lediglich der die beiden äusseren Klappen umfassende längliche Kartonstreifen und zwei separate Wellkartonabschnitte für die inneren Klappen in Bezug auf die Ausrichtung der Wellen rechtwinklig zueinander angeordnet werden. Die aus Wellpappe bestehenden inneren wie auch äusseren Klappen lassen sich parallel zu den Wellen an jeder beliebigen Stelle knicken, so dass ein dünnes oder dickes zu verpackendes Buch gleich schnell und bequem auf diese Weise verpackt werden kann.
