Abstract

The hinge for the articulated and separable junction of two adjacent wing panels (1,2) of a sectional door is provided with an upper profile strip (3) which is arranged on the upper longtitudinal edge of one wing panel (1) and which has a longtitudinal bead (4) with an essentially cylindrical outer surface (4a). The longtitudinal bead (4) is partially surrounded at a radial distance by an outer shell (8). A lower profile strip (5) arranged on the lower longtitudinal edge of one wing panel (2) has a bearing shell (6) open on one side, which partially surrounds the longtitudinal bead (4) concentrically and which is mounted rotatably on the longtitudinal bead (4). Adjacent to the cylindrical outer surface (6b) of the bearing shell (6) is a channel (10) which is concentric to the bead axis (A) and in which the outer shell (8) penetrates. The channel (10) is limited relative to the outside of the wing panel by a shell portion (11) which is concentric to the bead axis (A) and surrounds the cylindrical outer surface (8b) of the outer shell (8) at a short distance and the lower end of which terminates in a nose (13) directed downwards. The outer shell (8) and the channel (10) extend upwards over at least 65@ from a horizontal plane (H-H) passing through the bead axis (A). The nose (13) is arranged approximately level with the horizontal plane (H-H). The cylindrical outer surface (8b) of the outer shell (8) is arranged, in the region of the nose (13), in the vicinity of the outside of the wing panel. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a hinge for the articulated, detachable connection of two adjacent wing panels of a sectional gate (sectional gates), with an upper profile strip, which is viewed in the closed, vertical position of the wing panels, is arranged on the upper horizontal longitudinal edge of a wing panel and has a longitudinal bead with essentially has a cylindrical mantal surface, the bead axis of which is offset by at least half the bead diameter from a profile inner leg arranged on the inside of the wing wing towards the outside of the wing panel and which is partially surrounded by an outer shell at a radial distance, and with a lower profile strip which is arranged on the lower horizontal longitudinal edge of a wing panel , one having the longitudinal bead of the upper profile strip of the wing panel arranged beneath it concentrically in a circumferential angle range of more than 180 °, one-sided open bearing shell, with its inner The lateral surface is rotatably mounted on the lateral surface of the longitudinal bead and the outer lateral surface of which is surrounded by the inner lateral surface of the outer shell at a small distance and which, in the closed position of the wing panels, extends downward by at least 60 ° circumferential angle from a horizontal plane running through the bead axis, whereby a channel concentric with the bead axis adjoins the outer lateral surface of the bearing shell, in which the outer shell is completely immersed in the closed position of the wing fields, and which is surrounded on the outside of the wing field by a shell section which is concentric with the bead axis and which surrounds the outer lateral surface of the outer shell at a short distance and its lower end with one on the outside of the wing field arranged Prafilauenschen is connected, whereby a nose is formed towards the underlying upper profile strip.

In sectional gates, also called sectional gates, the wing panels (panels) arranged one above the other extend over the entire door width of up to 12 m. The width of these wing fields is about 35 - 60 cm. There are several wing panels arranged one above the other and articulated together at their mutually facing longitudinal edges, similar to the slats of a roller shutter. In contrast to a roller shutter, when pulling up the wing panels of a sectional gate, i.e. when opening the latter, it is not wound around a horizontal axis, but brought from its vertical position into a substantially horizontal position via laterally arranged, curved guide rails. While the wing panels are moved from their vertical to their horizontal position, two adjacent wing panels are increasingly pivoted towards each other in the upper area of the sectional door, creating a wide gap on the outside of the door between the nose and the upper profile strip of the wing panel arranged below. This gap poses a risk of injury when closing the sectional door if someone puts fingers or parts of the hand in this gap. When the sectional door is closed, the gap is reduced because it should be as small and invisible as possible when the sectional door is closed.

In a known hinge of the type mentioned at the beginning (GB 2 157 752 A), the outer shell is arranged at a considerable distance from the outside of the wing panel approximately in the middle of the upper profile strip. It extends in the closed position of the wing fields approximately to that of the Bead axis going horizontal plane. The same applies to the channel in which the outer shell engages in the closed position of the wing panels. This intervention is intended to reinforce the articulation in the closed position of the wing fields. Such reinforcement is obviously necessary if the two profile strips are made of plastic material. In the known articulated connection, however, the mutual engagement of the outer shell and the channel serves exclusively to reinforce the articulated connection in the closed position of the wing panels. If when opening the sectional gate swings the adjacent wing panels against each other, the outer shell emerges from the channel, so that when the gate closes there is a risk of fingers being trapped between the upper edge of the outer shell and the boundary walls of the channel. There is also a further risk of crushing between the nose and the upper profile strip of the wing field below.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a hinge for the articulated, detachable connection of two adjacent wing panels of a sectional gate of the type mentioned, which ensures effective protection against pinching fingers or parts of the hand when closing the sectional gate.

This is achieved according to the invention in that in each case in the closed, vertical position of the wing fields, the outer shell and the channel extend from the horizontal plane passing through the bead axis in a circumferential angle range of at least 65 ° upwards, that the nose is approximately at the height of the Is arranged horizontally and the shell section extends to approximately the height of the horizontal plane in the immediate vicinity of the nose, that the outer lateral surface of the outer shell is arranged in the area of the horizontal plane as close as possible to the outside of the wing field and its horizontal distance to the outside of the wing field or a profile outer leg of the upper profile strip arranged there is a maximum of 6 mm.

The invention is therefore based on the idea of using the outer shell as a protective shell which, even with mutually pivoted wing panels, completely or largely closes the gap between the adjacent profiled strips which results from the pivoting. Here, the outer shell must extend so far upwards with maximum pivoting of two adjacent wing panels that no finger or part of the hand can be inserted between the nose and the upper edge of the outer shell. It would of course be best if the outer shell does not emerge from the channel at all in the maximally swiveled position of two adjacent wing panels, but this cannot always be achieved since two adjacent wing panels can be attached to or detached from one another when the sectional door is being assembled and disassembled should be. So that the outer shell can fully develop its protective effect, it is also necessary that its outer surface is arranged as close as possible to the outside of the wing field in the region of the horizontal plane, ie where the nose lies when the gate is closed. If there is only a very narrow heel (or no heel), the fingers are pushed out through the nose and cannot be pinched. In addition, the outer shell, which extends far upwards, prevents water from penetrating.

In the drawing, only two upper and lower longitudinal edges are shown of two adjacent wing fields 1, 2 arranged one above the other. The two wing panels 1, 2 have an identical structure. An upper profile strip 3 is provided on the upper, horizontal longitudinal edge of the lower wing panel 1. This has a longitudinal bead 4 with an essentially cylindrical lateral surface 4a. The lateral surface 4a is provided with a recess 4b so that the profile strip 5 arranged at the lower edge of the upper wing panel 2 can be hooked or unhooked with its bearing shell 6 in an extreme swivel position which is only present during assembly. The bead axis A of the longitudinal bead 4 is offset by at least half the bead diameter D with respect to a profile inner leg 7 arranged on the inside of the wing panel, which is to the left of the two wing panels 1, 2, so that the longitudinal bead 4 does not protrude on the inside of the wing. The longitudinal bead 4 is partially surrounded by an outer shell 8 at a radial distance. In the closed, vertical position of the wing panels 1, 2, which is shown in FIG. 1, the outer shell 8 extends from a horizontal one passing through the bead axis A. Level HH in a circumferential angle range μ of at least 65 °, preferably approximately 75 °, upwards. In addition, the inner circumferential surface 8a of the outer shell 8 also extends downward from the horizontal plane HH by approximately the same circumferential angle. In this way, a space 9 is formed between the longitudinal bead 4 and the inner lateral surface 8a which is concentric with the bead axis A and in which the bearing shell 6 can move. The outer lateral surface 8b of the outer shell 8 is arranged in the area of the horizontal plane H as close as possible to the outside of the wing field. Your horizontal distance a from the wing field outside or the profile outer leg 14 of the upper profile strip located there should be a maximum of 6 mm, better 5 mm or less. The smaller the distance a, the less there is a risk that a finger or even parts of the same may become trapped.

The bearing shell 6 of the lower profile strip 5 is open on one side and, with its inner lateral surface 6a, comprises the longitudinal bead 4 in a circumferential angle range of approximately 210 °. It is open on one side, so that the bearing shell 6 can be hooked or unhooked in the extreme swivel position during assembly on the longitudinal bead 4, as is shown and described for example in EP 31 970 B1 or GB 2 157 752 A. The bearing shell 6 is rotatably supported with its inner lateral surface 6a on the lateral surface 4a of the longitudinal bead 4. The outer lateral surface 6b of the bearing shell 6 is surrounded by the inner lateral surface 8a of the outer shell 8 at a short distance. Adjacent to the outer lateral surface 6b of the bearing shell 6 is a channel 10 which is concentric with the bead axis A and in which the outer shell 8, as shown in FIG. 1, is completely immersed in the closed position of the wing panels.

The channel 10 is bounded to the outside of the wing field, that is to the right according to the drawing, by a shell section 11 concentric to the bead axis A. The shell section 11 surrounds with its inner lateral surface 11a the outer lateral surface 8b of the outer shell 8 with a small distance of 1 mm or less. The outer shell section 11 extends in the closed position of the wing panels 1, 2 approximately to the height of the horizontal plane H-H and forms together with the outer profile leg 12 of the lower profile strip 5 a nose 13 which is arranged approximately at the height of the horizontal plane H-H. The boundary surface 13a of the lug 13 facing the outer shell 8 is expediently curved convexly, as a result of which the lug 13 becomes relatively narrow and has only a very narrow, downward-facing surface.

The above-described configurations of the profile strips 3, 5 ensure that only a very narrow shoulder 15 is formed at the transition from the outer surface 8b to the profile outer leg 14 of the upper profile strip 3. This paragraph can be narrowed further by the fact that the surface of the outer shell 8a opposite the convexly curved boundary surface 13a in the closed position of the wing fields is concavely curved, ie runs approximately concentrically to the boundary surface 13 in the closed position of the wing fields. This embodiment has the purpose that the paragraph 15 becomes very narrow and also prevents the concave fillet that a finger or parts of the same can be pinched between the nose 13 and the paragraph 15. It should be noted that the profile strips 3, 5 are shown in approximately twice the size in the drawing. The outer lateral surface 8b can also merge into the outer profile leg 14 with an inclined surface.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the sectional gate has a very closed-looking outside thanks to the special design of the profile strips 1, 2. There is only a very small space between the lower edge of the nose 13 and the adjacent narrow shoulder 15. If the wing panels of the sectional gate are pulled up when the gate is opened, then the upper wing panel 2 swivels gradually relative to the wing panel 1 located below in the upper region of the gate from a vertical to a horizontal position. However, the swivel angle α occurring between the inside of the wing area of two adjacent wing areas never becomes less than about 115 °. As can be seen from Figure 2, the outer shell 8 does not leave the channel 10 even with maximum pivoting by the angle α. This ensures that a finger or parts of the hand can only ever reach the outer surface 8b of the outer shell 8. Since the outer lateral surface 8b extends up to the nose 13 and the nose 13 and also the shoulder 15 are relatively narrow, a finger F, which for example lies against the outer lateral surface 8b, as shown in FIG. 3, becomes simple through the nose 13 pushed outwards when the upper wing panel 2 is pivoted back into its vertical position when the sectional door is closed. It is not possible to pinch a finger between the nose, which is only about 3 mm wide, and the shoulder 15, which has approximately the same width, especially since the shoulder 15 also has a concave and convex rounding toward the outside of the wing field.

In the embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the two profile strips 3, 5 are made of plastic. Here you can together with the wing field 1 and 2, which you above and
limit below, consist of one piece. However, it is also possible to produce the profiled strips 3, 5 as separate profiles, for example as extruded aluminum profiles, and then to connect them with sheet metal plates which form the inner and the outer boundary surface of a wing panel, as shown, for example, in GB 2 157 752 is. The space between the two metal sheets is foamed.

In addition to the advantages already mentioned, the design of the hinge according to the invention has the advantage that no water can penetrate into the hinge connection, even in the event of strong wind pressure. The outer shell 8, which extends relatively far upward over the horizontal plane H-H, prevents the ingress of water.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the same reference numerals were used as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2. The above description also applies analogously to FIG. 3. There, however, the outer circumferential surface 6b of the outer shell 8 merges tangentially into the outer leg 14 of the upper profile strip 3 arranged on the outside of the wing, so that there is no shoulder between which and the nose 13 there would be a risk of being crushed.
