Claims (5)

  1. Method for engaging and disengaging the sheet reversal in the conveyance of sheets through a printing machine,
    - in which the sheets are transported individually one after the other between two printing units by at least one transporting drum,
    - in which, furthermore, when the printing machine is switched over from face-printing operation to perfecting operation and vice versa and to adjust the format, the phase position of the printing units relative to one another is adjusted in a switch-over position, in that the part of the drive system of the printing machine which is not to be rotated is retained and the remaining part of the drive system is rotated by a defined angular amount relative to the retained part,
    - in which, furthermore, the points in time of the opening of the grippers of the sheet-receiving and the sheet-transferring transporting drums are adjusted so that the sheet transfer and sheet receiving take place in face-printing operation at the leading edge and, in perfecting operation, the sheets are received at the trailing edge, and
    - in which, if required, the devices holding the trailing edge of the sheet on a transporting drum serving as a storage drum are adjusted to the trailing edge of the respective sheet in accordance with the format in that said devices are adjusted by a defined angular amount about a common axis relative to the grippers holding the leading edge of the sheet,
    - the positioning and fastening of the elements being carried out by means of a control device which is connected to adjusting elements for elements on the transporting drums to be moved during the engagement and disengagement of the sheet reversal and to sensor elements for recording the position of said elements, characterized in that
    - the adjustment of the phase position of the printing units, of the points in time of the opening of the grippers and of the elements holding the leading edge (6, 10) and trailing edge (7, 11) of the sheets relative to one another takes place essentially simultaneously,
    - in that, by means of a pressure medium system (35, 36, 37, 126, 50, 65, 34, 70, 107, 125, 31, 49, 63, 69, 104, 124) actuated by the control device, simultaneously
    a) the part (16, 17, 2, 3) of the drive system which is not to be rotated is retained,
    b) the retentions (109, 15, 16) between the part (13, 14, 15) of the drive system to be rotated and the part (16, 17, 2, 3) of the drive system which is not to be rotated, between the elements of the storage drum (1) holding the leading edge (6, 10) and the trailing edge (7, 11) of the sheets, and the retentions (95, 94, 2, 59, 58, 4) of the gripper control elements (82, 88, 86, 87) of a turning drum (2), arranged downstream of the storage drum (1), and of the gripper control elements (57, 58) of the storage drum (1) are lifted,
    - in that, furthermore, then by means of the pressure medium system (35, 36, 37, 126, 50, 65, 34, 70, 107, 125, 31, 49, 63, 69, 104, 124) actuated by the control device, simultaneously
    c) adjusting elements (68, 67, 66, 58) of the gripper-opening curve (57) of the storage drum (1) are coupled to a drive (13, 14, 74, 71, 73) for adjusting the part (13, 14, 15) of the drive system to be rotated,
    d) adjusting elements (39, 40, 41, 43, 44, 46) of the elements holding the sheet edges are coupled to a further drive (47, 48, 49, 53, 54),
    - in that, furthermore, then by means of the drives (13, 14, 47, 48, 49, 53, 54) actuated by the control device, said adjustments are carried out, and
    - in that then by means of the pressure medium system (35, 36, 37, 126, 50, 65, 34, 70, 107, 125, 31, 49, 63, 69, 104, 124) actuated by the control device, all the couplings (68, 73, 46, 47) and retentions (124, 17, 15, 16, 94, 2, 59, 58, 4) are moved into the starting condition.
  2. Device for engaging and disengaging the sheet reversal in the conveyance of sheets through a printing machine,
    - comprising a storage drum and a turning drum,
    - furthermore comprising drive means for adjusting the phase position of the printing units relative to one another, said printing units being arranged before and after the sheet reversal, the part of the drive system of the printing machine which is not to be adjusted being retainable by means of a retention,
    - furthermore comprising means for adjusting the gripper control elements of the storage drum and of the turning drum, the gripper control elements of the turning drum, which can be fastened by a pressure medium-actuated retention, being axially displaceable, and the gripper curve of the storage drum, which can be fastened by a further pressure medium-actuated retention, being rotatable about the axis of the storage drum,
    - furthermore comprising separate drive means for adjusting two groups of elements of the storage drum, holding the leading edge and trailing edge of the sheets, relative to one another about the axis of the storage drum, the elements holding sheet edges being retainable relative to one another by a pressure medium-actuated retention, and
    - comprising a control device which is connected to the adjusting means and communicates with sensor elements to record the position of the adjustable elements relative to the respective non-adjustable elements, the control device containing a control part for pressure medium-actuated actuators, characterized
    - in that a pressure medium-actuated coupling (68, 69, 73), which is connected to the control part of the control device, is provided between the means (58, 66, 67, 68) for adjusting the gripper control elements (57) of the storage drum (1) and the drive means (13, 14, 15) for adjusting the phase position of the printing units relative to one another, and
    - in that a pressure medium-actuated coupling (46, 47, 49), which is connected to the control part of the control device, is provided between the separate drive means (54, 53, 48, 47) for adjusting the elements (7) of the storage drum (1) holding the sheet edge and the adjustable elements (7) holding the sheet edge,
    - and in that the operating cylinders (31, 49, 63, 69, 104, 124) of the pressure medium-actuated actuators are arranged securely against rotation relative to the machine frame (4, 5).
  3. Device according to Claim 2, characterized in that the couplings (68, 69, 73, 46, 47, 49) are constructed from the same design, preferably as friction clutches.
  4. Device according to Claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the coupling (46, 47, 49) between the separate drive means (54, 53, 48, 47) for adjusting the elements (7) holding the sheet edges and the elements (7) in turn comprises two coupling halves (46, 47), the one coupling half (47) being constructed as a friction disc which is firmly connected coaxially to a shaft (53) which is mounted rotatably in the frame (5, 52, 51) of the printing machine and onto which an adjusting motor (54) is coupled as a separate drive means, and which coupling half is coupled to the piston (48) of a pressure medium cylinder (152) for the axial movement in the direction of the second coupling half (46), the second coupling half (46) being coupled to a gear mechanism (43, 44) for adjusting said elements (7).
  5. Device according to Claims 2 and 3, characterized in that the coupling between the means (58, 66, 67, 68) for adjusting the gripper control elements (57) of the storage drum (1) and the drive means (13, 14, 15) for adjusting the phase position of the printing units relative to one another comprises two coupling halves (68, 73), the one coupling half (68) being constructed as a friction disc which is firmly connected coaxially to a shaft (67) which is mounted so as to be rotatable and axially displaceable in a side wall (4) of the printing machine and on which a gear (66) is attached for adjusting said gripper control elements (57), and which coupling half is coupled to the piston (142) of a pressure medium cylinder (141) for the axial movement in the direction of the second coupling half (73), the second coupling half (73) being coupled to a gear mechanism (14, 74) for driving the printing machine.
