Description

The present invention relates to the field of security devices, in particular the production of burglar-resistant containers of the box or chamber type, and relates to a composite armored wall.

There are already known different types of armored walls intended for safes or vaults, comprising inserts or layers of different natures in order to improve the resistance characteristics of said walls against break-in by cutting tools and / or perforation with thermal or mechanical action.

Thus, document DE-A-3 808 417 describes a composite armored wall comprising in particular an outer plate having a high resistance to the conventional oxyacetylene torch and also a high resistance to cutting and drilling tools.

These known armored walls are generally made entirely by molding, the inserts being coated in the mass of metal, generally steel, refractory or not, constituting the basic component of said wall.

Nevertheless, the production of such walls involves complex moldings of very large dimensions which can only be carried out by specialized founders with suitable installations.

In addition, it is not possible to modify the structure of the wall after molding in order to possibly adapt it to specific conditions of implementation, different from those initially planned during its design.

In addition, the placement of the inserts in the mold before the base metal is poured and their coating with the metal during the casting generates internal tensions in the wall resulting in cracks and weakening zones of said wall, d 'which results in particular a significant amount of manufacturing scrap.

Furthermore, the walls of this type made of refractory steel, as the main constituent, are difficult to machine after their molding and cannot be rectified, in order to adjust their size. or the parallelism of the internal and external faces, only with special machines and tools, very expensive. Likewise, in the case of particular applications, requiring variable wall thicknesses, it is essential to make major modifications and changes in the production tool.

It is also known to apply layers of materials having specific resistance properties on the opposite faces of two metal plates, then to assemble said plates under very high pressures and temperatures. Thus, the production of such walls also requires the use of special, very expensive installations, and the uniform distribution of the material with specific resistance properties does not make it possible to protect in a reinforced manner the areas of such a wall which are more particularly exposed. burglary attempts, such as for example the proximal zones of through orifices.

Furthermore, the walls of the types mentioned above no longer meet the approval specifications currently in force, unless their thickness is considerably increased, due to the improvement and constant improvement in the performance of the techniques and break-in procedures. Finally, none of the known walls of the aforementioned types offers specific protection at the level of the openings which may possibly exist in said walls.

The present invention aims to overcome all the aforementioned drawbacks.

To this end, it relates to a composite armored wall, possibly provided with one or more through orifices and mainly constituted, on the one hand, by an external plate having a high resistance to the conventional oxyacetylene torch and also a high resistance to cutting and drilling tools, wall characterized in that it is constituted, on the other hand, by a combustible intermediate plate, with smoke generation and generation of large flames, or resistant to the blowtorch with filler powder and, finally, by an inner plate made of an easily machinable material having a high resistance to the conventional blowtorch and comprising inserts having a high resistance to tools cutting and drilling, said plates being assembled together by means of connecting elements arranged, if necessary, at their lateral edges.

  • la figure 1 est une vue en élévation frontale de la paroi conforme à l'invention ;
  • la figure 2 est une vue partielle en coupe à une échelle différente de la paroi représentée à la figure 1, selon un premier mode de réalisation de l'invention ;
The invention will be better understood thanks to the description below, which relates to preferred embodiments, given by way of nonlimiting examples and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a front elevational view of the wall according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a partial sectional view on a different scale of the wall shown in Figure 1, according to a first embodiment of the invention;
  • FIG. 3 is a partial sectional view on a different scale of the wall shown in FIG. 1, according to a second embodiment of the invention, and,
  • Figure 4 is a partial sectional view of a wall according to another alternative embodiment of the invention.

According to the invention, and as shown in Figures 1 to 3 of the accompanying drawings, the wall 1 is mainly constituted, on the one hand, by an outer plate 2 having a high resistance to the conventional oxyacetylene torch and also a high resistance to cutting and drilling tools, on the other hand, by a combustible intermediate plate 3, with smoke generation and generation of large flames, or resistant to the powder powder torch and, finally, by an inner plate 4 made of a material easily machinable having a high resistance to the conventional torch and comprising inserts 5 having a high resistance to cutting and drilling tools, said plates 2, 3 and 4 being assembled together by means of connecting elements 6 arranged, where appropriate if necessary, at their lateral edges.

Due to the different natures of the constituent materials of plates 2, 3 and 4, their specific resistance properties to thermal or mechanical cutting and drilling tools and the particular ordered combination of said plates 2, 3 and 4 together in a structure composite laminate, the resulting wall 1 cannot be pierced by means of a single type of cutting or perforating tools and therefore strongly thwarts any attempt at drilling.

In addition, the assembly of plates 2, 3 and 4 by means of connecting elements 6 makes it possible to easily produce walls 1 of varying thicknesses and constitutions, responding to particular properties sought after or intended for given applications, without require specialized installation and without causing significant modifications to the production tool.

According to a first embodiment of the invention, shown in Figure 2 of the accompanying drawings, the outer plate 2 is made of weldable refractory steel, having a very high point resistance to the action of a conventional torch.

According to a second embodiment of the invention, shown in Figure 3 of the accompanying drawings, the outer plate 2 is composed of a core 7, coming from molding, consisting of corundum or zircon grains integrated into a mass of copper and comprising, on the one hand, on its outer face, a layer of overmolded copper 8 and, on the other hand, on its inner face, a recess for the housing of the intermediate plate 3.

The copper layer 8 is advantageously overmolded on the core 7 before the latter cools.

The outer plate 1 thus obtained simultaneously exhibits very good resistance to a conventional torch attack due to the excellent thermal conductivity of the copper, which causes rapid and constant diffusion of the heat applied to the entire plate 1, and very good resistance to mechanical attack due to the nature of the material constituting the core 7.

According to a characteristic of the invention, and in order to prohibit a break-in by means of a torch with filler powder, the intermediate plate 3 is advantageously made of graphite. This material counteracts the action of the intake powder torch by the retention of the previously molten metal forming a screen and by the initiation, under the effect of heat, of a slow combustion consuming significant quantities of oxygen, made of a sublimation of said graphite.

In accordance with an alternative embodiment of the invention, the intermediate plate 3 can consist of a bituminous product, the combustion of which, on attack with a torch with filler powder, gives off, on the one hand, significant heat, annoying for the user of said torch and generates, on the other hand, open flames and opaque and irritating smoke.

The inner plate 4 is advantageously a copper plate, constituting a final effective barrier against break-in, in particular break-in by means of a torch. In addition, the provision of at least one plate of easily machinable material, on at least one of the two lateral faces of the wall 1, makes it possible to rectify the latter with a view to adjusting its thickness or the parallelism of its two side faces, without the need for installation or special tools.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the inserts 5 are preferably in the form of metal plates covered with powdered diamond or zircon plates and are embedded in grooves 9, formed in the inner plate 4, on its face facing outward.

As shown in Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings, more particularly showing a wall 1 can be used as the front wall of an automatic teller machine, the inserts 5 are essentially arranged at the wall portions 1 connecting at least two orifices through 10 between them, at the level of the wall portions 1 adjoining the through orifices 10, in particular at the level of the areas adjacent to the angles of said through orifices 10 of parallelepipedal section or also at the level of the wall portions 1 which may constitute, after cutting, in association with one or more through orifices openings of parallelepiped shape of larger dimensions 11 (in broken dashed lines).

The arrangement of the inserts 5, as described above, makes it possible to reinforce, in an effective and localized manner, the wall portions 1 constituting the privileged points of attack in the event of an attempted break-in, the positioning of said inserts 5 can be performed just before assembly of the different plates 2, 3 and 4, depending on the particular conditions of implementation of the wall 1 concerned or the required security requirements.

In accordance with an additional characteristic of the invention, shown in Figures 2 and 3 of the accompanying drawings, the connecting elements 6 may be in the form of U-shaped staples, including an arm 12, extended by a corresponding core 13 , is secured to the outer plate 2 during the manufacture of the latter or during the assembly of the shielded wall 1, and the other arm 14 of which is attached to the free end of the core 13 after installation the intermediate plate 3 and the inner plate 4.

The arms 12 of the staples 6 can either be welded to the outer plate 2, simultaneously with spacers 15 so as to form recesses for housing the intermediate plates 3, or be integrated into the mass of the outer plate 2 during the molding of the latter.

According to another alternative embodiment shown in Figure 4 of the accompanying drawings, the outer plate 2 is provided with a plurality of studs 16 at its internal face, passing through the intermediate plate 3 and the inner plate 4 and bearing on the rear face 17 of said inner plate 4.

The studs 16 are advantageously formed in one piece with the outer plate 2 and distributed uniformly on the inner face of the latter.

Said studs 16 can bear on the rear face 17 of the inner plate 4 by any appropriate means (washer, recess, threaded ends provided with clamping screen, etc.), however, according to a preferred embodiment, the free ends of the studs 16 are secured to an anchor plate 18 by welding at suitable orifices 19, said anchor plate 18 being applied against the rear face 17 of said inner plate 4 (FIG. 4).

The implementation of the studs 16, acting as connecting elements 6, thus makes it possible to obtain a more unitary structure of the wall 1, the intermediate 3 and inner 4 plates being sandwiched and assembled by clamping between the two walls 2 and 18, the latter having in particular high mechanical strength and hardness.

This arrangement makes it possible to prevent, during an attempt to pierce the wall 1, the successive removal of parts, or even of the whole, of the plates 2, 3 or 4 by separation from the remaining plates, whatever the location of the attack.

According to an additional characteristic of the invention, the wall 1 can advantageously include an additional wall 20, made of a conducting material heat well and applied to the anchor plate 18, comprising a plurality of inserts 21, good thermal conductors, which can in particular be screwed and extending, through the anchor plate 18, into the mass of the plate interior 4.

The privileged thermal bridges constituted by the inserts 21 make it possible to evacuate the calories, brought during a torch attack, from the place of attack at the level of the internal plate 4 towards the additional plate 20, where the heat can be distributed over the entire surface and be dissipated there.

Preferably, the outer plate 2, the studs 16 and the anchor plate 18 are made of weldable refractory steel, the intermediate plate 3 consists of graphite and the inner plate 4, the additional plate 20 and the inserts 21 are made in copper.

Grâce à l'invention, il est donc possible de réaliser une paroi 1 blindée composite, dont la fabrication ne nécessite aucune installation spéciale et dont la constitution peut être adaptée, avec une très grande souplesse, aux conditions de mise en oeuvre spécifiques de ladite paroi par simple variation des dimensions de ses plaques constitutives 2, 3 et 4 ou du nombre ou de la répartition de ses inserts 5.Thanks to the invention, it is therefore possible to produce a composite armored wall 1, the manufacture of which requires no special installation and the constitution of which can be adapted, with great flexibility, to the specific conditions of implementation of said wall. by simply varying the dimensions of its constituent plates 2, 3 and 4 or the number or distribution of its inserts 5.

In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, the thicknesses of the various plates 2, 3 and 4 can be established as follows: a layer of copper 8 overmolded by approximately 10 mm, a core 7 made of corundum grains coated with copper of approximately 14 mm, an intermediate plate 3 of graphite of approximately 8 mm and, finally, an inner plate 4 of copper of approximately 8 mm.

Thus the invention makes it possible to produce relatively thin armored walls, possibly provided with openings, the resistance to burglary of which is clearly greater than that of the walls known from the prior art, in particular
the monolithic walls, made of a material of cast base.

Consequently, the walls in accordance with the invention meet the requirements of the most restrictive French and foreign safety standards, in particular because of their different constituent materials and their particular structure.
