Definitions
- the subject of the present invention is a packaging for fragile articles which may contain one or more articles, packaging of the type comprising a box whose lid and bottom are each closed by a membrane, a membrane trapping the article when the box is closed so as to that this article is suspended inside the box and is thus protected from shocks.
- Document FR 2,239,878 describes a package in which the article to be protected is held between two sheets between which a vacuum is created. Here also it is necessary to have a special installation for the packaging of articles. In addition, the slightest damage a membrane can completely release the wrapped item.
- Document US 2,837,208 describes a package comprising a housing making it possible to hold, suspended inside, a strip or support formed of two sheets surrounding objects and welded together so as to hold these objects in place.
- Such packaging requires several operations, the production of the support carrying the articles to be packaged, the positioning of this support in the housing and then the destruction of the support when the packaging is opened to dispose of the articles.
- document CH 630.313 discloses a package formed from a box, the cover of which is provided with a membrane flush with its opening while the bottom is provided with a membrane situated in an intermediate plane between its opening and its front wall. . These two membranes are mechanically fixed on the cover, respectively in the bottom, using nested rings, fixed or glued on the cover and the bottom.
- the subject of the present invention is a packaging, in particular for fragile articles, of the type comprising two stackable halves each provided with a membrane, tending to overcome the abovementioned drawbacks in that it is easy to produce inexpensively, very easy to use , that is to say that it does not require any tools, inflation station or heating station and that moreover it is reusable.
- Figure 1 illustrates in perspective a box or packaging according to the invention.
- Figure 2 is a partial section along the line II-II in Figure 1.
- Figure 3 is a section similar to that illustrated in Figure 2, the box being closed.
- Figure 4 is a perspective view of a second embodiment of the open box or package.
- Figure 5 is a sectional view of a third embodiment of the box or closed package.
- the packaging or box illustrated in Figures 1 to 3 consists of a bottom 1 and a cover 2 of identical shape and size.
- this bottom 1 and this cover 2 have a generally rectangular shape and have a rim 3 provided with a groove 4.
- the rim 3 has on each of the short sides of the cover and the bottom a through slot 5 in which is housed a connecting element used to hold the cover 2 and the bottom 1 together.
- the open face of the bottom 1 and of the cover 2, surrounded by the flange 3, is closed by an elastic plastic membrane 6 held in the service position stretched by a plastic wire 7 forced into the groove 4 of the flange 3.
- the bottom 1 and the cover 2 are preferably made of injected plastic and can have the same depth as illustrated or different depths. Against by the shape and size of their openings, and therefore of the rim 3, are always identical so as to be able to be superimposed exactly in the closed position of the packaging.
- the fixing of the membrane 6, constituted by a sheet of plastic material, generally transparent, elastic is obtained by wedging in the groove 3 using a wire or rod 7 forced into this groove 3.
- This fixing is generally obtained by a tool making it possible to maintain a sheet stretched against the opening of the bottom 1 or of the cover 2, the positioning and in the form of a wire or rod 7 just above the groove 3 then the forced introduction of this rod put in form in this groove 3 and finally the cutting of the sheet 6.
- the object to be packaged is then placed on the membrane 6 of the bottom 1, the cover 2 is then juxtaposed to the bottom 1 and pressed against the latter. In doing so, the membranes 6 are elastically deformed and surround the object to be packaged, keeping it in suspension in the space included inside the bottom 1 and the cover 2.
- Each plastic connecting part has two parts 8, 9 coming from a manufacturing part and connected by a thin blade 10 constituting a hinge.
- Each of the parts 8, 9 has a shape, dimensions and support points such that it can be fixed by snap-fastening in a slot 5 of a flange 3.
- Figure 3 illustrates how the two halves of the package 1, 2 are held together using a connecting element. To open the packaging, it suffices to apply pressure along arrow A on the end of part 8 of the connecting piece, which makes it possible to release the latter from the cover 1.
- the cover 1 can then be tilted in the open position (FIGS. 1 and 2) around the hinge 10 that the other connecting piece comprises, connecting the two other short sides of the packaging.
- the parts 8, 9 of the connecting pieces have corresponding snap formations 11, 12 making it possible to maintain these parts in an aligned position (FIG. 3 and left part of FIG. 1) this even in the open position of the packaging.
- these can be perforated to avoid compression of the air located in each half of the packaging.
- the parts 8, 9 of the connecting pieces are symmetrical and can therefore indifferently cooperate with the rim 3 of the cover 2 or of the bottom 3 of the packaging.
- slots 5 can be provided on the same side of the rim 3. Such slots 5 can be provided on the four sides of the two halves of the packaging to ensure that it is properly closed using connecting elements.
- the bottom 1 and the cover 2 of the package have partitions defining compartments. These packages can receive several pieces to be packaged which will each be placed to the right of a compartment. These pieces, once the packaging is closed, will be separated from each other and packed almost individually.
- the packaging comprises in the bottom 1 a continuous intermediate wall 20 defining a housing inside the bottom 1.
- This wall 20 is higher than the depth of the bottom 1 so that the membrane 6 of the bottom 1 is located outside the plane of the rim 3 of this bottom 1.
- the object 0 enclosed between the two membranes 6 of the bottom 1 and of the cover 2 is maintained in a plane different from the plane of juxtaposition of the edges 3.
- the membranes 6 form an angle to the right of the wall 20 which ensures intimate contact and with a significant pressure between the membranes 6 along the periphery of the partition 20. In this way a perfect seal is obtained between the two membranes 6 at the right of the wall 20.
- such packaging can be provided for articles containing liquid, in particular blood samples. So even if the container containing the liquid has a defect or breaks, releasing the liquid, it does not escape from the packaging as long as it is kept in the closed position.
- This packaging thus provides additional security in the transport of liquid samples.
- the packaging can preferably be made of a transparent synthetic material, as are the membranes, which allows optical or visual verification when sending orders and / or receiving shipments.
- the customs services can inspect the packaged goods without opening the packaging, which guarantees good control and avoids any risk of damage to the packaged parts by handling carried out by non-specialized persons.

Abstract
