Definitions
- the present invention relates to a feed pump for waste water, in particular in sewage treatment plants, with a screw conveyor, which is rotatably arranged in an inclined feed pipe or feed trough, at the lower end of which there is an inlet opening and at the higher end of which there is an outlet opening a sieve is provided in the higher section of the conveying pipe or trough and is arranged in such a way that at least part of the highly conveyed waste water runs off through the sieve.
- Such a feed pump, with a feed trough, is already known from DE-A-2 025 692.
- Another screw pump is known for example from DE-A-3 006 057.
- Screw pumps of this type are frequently used in sewage treatment plants because of their robustness and insensitivity, since the wastewater often reaches the sewage treatment plant at a lower level than the level in the settling tanks. Pumping up the waste water is sometimes necessary between different clarification tanks or stages. The incoming wastewater is interspersed with more or less coarse impurities. These are usually caught on a so-called rake or a sieve, which are connected upstream or downstream of the feed pump. However, this disadvantageously requires a corresponding running path for the waste water, which must be accessible for cleaning the rake or sieve.

- the object of the present invention is to provide a conveying device which enables better drainage of the solid components and in which the solid components can be discharged without water being applied to the surroundings of the discharge area.
- the sieve device can be arranged between the already existing drain opening and the screw conveyor in such a way that the waste water must forcibly pass through the sieve, and a separate drain opening or several separate drain openings are provided, part of the water drainage taking place through the sieve device and some of the waste water can escape from other drain openings that are not blocked by the sieve.
- the feed pump which is present anyway, is thus converted in such a way that it works simultaneously as a sieving device.
- An embodiment of the invention is particularly preferred in which a sieve forms at least a part of the lower surface of the conveyor tube or trough in the upper section of the conveyor tube and transports the contaminants retained by the sieve and accumulating thereon from the screw conveyor in the direction of the tube end which is expediently open or has a collecting device for the material retained by the sieve. It is advantageously achieved that the wastewater, as it is conveyed upward in the trough by the screw conveyor, runs down through the sieve as soon as it has reached the pipe section in which the lower surface is formed by the sieve, the solid constituents subsequently be drained even further.

- the reduced pitch inevitably entails compression and thus squeezing and dewatering of the material retained by the sieve.
- sieve openings can optionally be provided on the underside of the trough so that the water largely runs out of the material retained by the sieve.
- the reduced pitch already results from the reduced diameter of the pressing section, but it can additionally be reduced even more by a smaller pitch.
- wastewater is pumped from a deep-lying basin 10 into a higher-lying basin 11, which is only indicated by dashed lines.
- the pump device consists of a pipe 2 revolving screw conveyor 1, which is driven by a drive device 5 via the shaft 9.
- the water runs at the lower section 3 of the pipe through the front opening 2a into the pipe 2 into the first lower screw flight and is gradually conveyed upwards by rotating the screw 1 essentially in the lower half of the pipe.
- a higher-lying section 4 of the tube 2 has, in addition to the front opening 2b, a recess 2c located on the underside of this section, on which the otherwise closed pipe is replaced by a sieve wall 6.
- the water conveyed by the screw via this end section 4 of the tube 2 then flows downward through the openings of the sieve into the basin 11 arranged below it.
- the material retained by the sieve plate 6 is conveyed out of the pump through the front opening 2b of the tube 2 and can be collected in a separate device, for example a container 12, a conveyor belt or the like.
- the device shown in FIG. 2 largely corresponds to the device just described, but instead of the front-side outlet opening 2b, a tapered pipe section 7 is initially provided, through which the screw conveyor 1 also extends with a correspondingly reduced diameter.
- This section 7 serves as a pressing device for the material retained by the screen 6. Due to the reduced pipe cross-section and the simultaneously reduced pitch of the screw 1 in this section 7, there is necessarily a compression of the material retained by the screen 6 and conveyed further, this being additionally pressed out, so that further water can run off from this material.
- the screw walls can be perforated in this upper end section 7, or the tube 2 in this end section 7 is again formed on its underside as a sieve or provided with individual bores.
- the feed pump according to the invention combines pumping and sieving devices in one device in a space-saving manner, wherein additional energy can be saved if the feed pump according to the invention replaces so-called active sieving devices in which the waste water is pumped through a sieve within a basin.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a feed pump for waste water, in particular in sewage treatment plants, with a screw conveyor, which is rotatably arranged in an inclined feed pipe or feed trough, at the lower end of which there is an inlet opening and at the higher end of which there is an outlet opening a sieve is provided in the higher section of the conveying pipe or trough and is arranged in such a way that at least part of the highly conveyed waste water runs off through the sieve.
Such a feed pump, with a feed trough, is already known from DE-A-2 025 692. Another screw pump is known for example from DE-A-3 006 057. Screw pumps of this type are frequently used in sewage treatment plants because of their robustness and insensitivity, since the wastewater often reaches the sewage treatment plant at a lower level than the level in the settling tanks.
Bei der bekannten Pumpe werden die festen Bestandteile durch die Förderschnecke über den Rand des Siebes, welcher gleichzeitig den Rand des Troges bildet hinweggeschoben .Regardless of the specific design of the screening device, it is in any case an additional device to the pump with a corresponding space requirement, which also requires energy in the case of active screening devices. In the pump known from DE-A-2 025 692, which consists of an inclined trough with a part-circular cross section and a feed screw rotatably arranged therein, the upper region of the trough is already designed as a sieve through which the liquid components flow downward while the solid components in the pump are conveyed higher by the screw conveyor. In the known pump, the solid components are pushed away by the screw conveyor over the edge of the sieve, which also forms the edge of the trough.
Compared to this prior art, the object of the present invention is to provide a conveying device which enables better drainage of the solid components and in which the solid components can be discharged without water being applied to the surroundings of the discharge area.
This object is solved by the features of claim 1.
The sieve device can be arranged between the already existing drain opening and the screw conveyor in such a way that the waste water must forcibly pass through the sieve, and a separate drain opening or several separate drain openings are provided, part of the water drainage taking place through the sieve device and some of the waste water can escape from other drain openings that are not blocked by the sieve.
The feed pump, which is present anyway, is thus converted in such a way that it works simultaneously as a sieving device. An embodiment of the invention is particularly preferred in which a sieve forms at least a part of the lower surface of the conveyor tube or trough in the upper section of the conveyor tube and transports the contaminants retained by the sieve and accumulating thereon from the screw conveyor in the direction of the tube end which is expediently open or has a collecting device for the material retained by the sieve. It is advantageously achieved that the wastewater, as it is conveyed upward in the trough by the screw conveyor, runs down through the sieve as soon as it has reached the pipe section in which the lower surface is formed by the sieve, the solid constituents subsequently be drained even further.
So that the sieve is automatically cleaned and kept free by the conveyor, so that the additional operation of cleaning the otherwise usual rake is omitted. It goes without saying that the wastewater running through the sieve is passed on to the subsequent clarifier at a correspondingly higher level.
An embodiment of the invention is particularly preferred in which the conveyor tube, in continuation of the sieve section, has a press section which consists of a tapered or tapering end section of the conveyor tube, in which the conveyor screw reduced to a corresponding cross section extends.
It has proven to be useful if the screw conveyor has a reduced pitch in the pressing section. The reduced pitch inevitably entails compression and thus squeezing and dewatering of the material retained by the sieve. Also in the pressing section, sieve openings can optionally be provided on the underside of the trough so that the water largely runs out of the material retained by the sieve.
For the same screw pitch, the reduced pitch already results from the reduced diameter of the pressing section, but it can additionally be reduced even more by a smaller pitch.

In FIG. 1, wastewater is pumped from a deep-lying
The device shown in FIG. 2 largely corresponds to the device just described, but instead of the front-side outlet opening 2b, a tapered pipe section 7 is initially provided, through which the screw conveyor 1 also extends with a correspondingly reduced diameter. This section 7 serves as a pressing device for the material retained by the
The feed pump according to the invention combines pumping and sieving devices in one device in a space-saving manner, wherein additional energy can be saved if the feed pump according to the invention replaces so-called active sieving devices in which the waste water is pumped through a sieve within a basin.
