Description

The present invention relates to a stirring machine for paints, of the type comprising shelves supporting color boxes provided with an upper agitator cover, and a mechanism for driving the agitator covers on each of the shelves, the agitator covers being each provided a power take-off pinion for the agitator axis within the boxes.

The invention relates in particular to an improvement in the transmission of movement to the agitator covers.

On stirring machines of this known type, the drive of the agitator covers is essentially carried out by means of a chain transmission, one on each shelf externally meshing along its length with the drive sprockets of the covers positioned. The drive chains of the shelves are themselves driven by pinions from a main vertical shaft mounted laterally on the height of the machine and actuated by a lower gear motor.

This type of motion transmission does not easily lend itself to a change in configuration of the machine shelves.

The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and proposes a stirring machine for paints, of the type comprising shelves supporting color boxes provided with an upper agitator cover, and a mechanism for driving the agitator lids on each of the shelves. , the agitator covers each being provided with a power take-off pinion for the agitator axis within the boxes, characterized in that said agitator cover drive mechanism involves a set of endless screws mounted individually on each of the shelves, these screws each engaging with the drive pinions of the agitator covers of the same shelf and being driven at a rotation speed suitable, variable depending on the range of color boxes on the shelves.

The driving of the screws (which requires a low torque) is advantageously carried out by means of a transmission by driving and preferably toothed belts (to ensure rigorous speed transmission) and driven pulleys integral with the screws or even with chains and pinions at the end of the screw, on one side of the machine.

A series of belts or chains allows the resumption of movement from one shelf to the next.

It follows from this arrangement that one can use for driving the machine a simple asynchronous electric motor without the need for a speed reduction gear, the main reduction being achieved by the worms. This reduction is sufficient to ensure a suitable rotation speed of the agitator shafts of the covers.

The motor can thus be arranged horizontally with its drive pulley (or a pinion) in direct engagement with the belt or belts or drive chains. Under these conditions, a low horizontal positioning of the motor does not hinder the positioning of the boxes on the lower shelf, which therefore remains fully available.

Naturally, this type of movement transmission is suitable for stirring machines receiving agitator covers with their boxes positioned in suspension on the shelves, or even with positioning clipping of the boxes placed on the shelves.

Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear below with regard to the description of an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic elevational view of a stirring machine for paints according to the invention;
  • Figure 2 is a perspective view of this machine, but with side belt drive;
  • Figure 3 is an enlarged side view with cutaway of the machine showing two successive shelves;
  • Figure 4 is a horizontal section of a shelf showing in particular the drive of the agitator covers by an endless screw;

  • Figure 6 is a section along the line CC of Figure 5; and
  • Figure 7 is a section similar to Figure 4 showing the drive of the agitator covers by a spring screw.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the stirring machine according to the invention essentially consists of two lateral uprights 1, to which are horizontally attached shelves 3 supports for the agitator lids 5 of the shade boxes 7, and a motor electric drive 9 at the lower level. The shade boxes 7 are fixed to the covers, themselves suspended from the shelf in a conventional manner by transverse tabs 11.

The shelves are hung on the uprights by means of hooks 13 at their ends, engaged in corresponding perforations 15 formed at regular intervals along the length of the uprights. They can therefore be arranged with variable spacing and height depending on the load configuration of the desired machine, and depending on the size of the color boxes.

One of the uprights houses part of the drive system 17 of the agitator covers of the color boxes on the shelves. This drive system is protected by a longitudinal casing 19 (FIG. 4), mounted articulated laterally on the upright and on its height.

The machine is slightly inclined towards the rear, being supported on two rear legs 21 which are foldable and whose spacing is limited by a compass 23 blocked at the opening. A stiffening cross 25 can be fixed on the rear support legs or preferably on the vertical uprights. This arrangement with hooking of the shelves on the uprights and support on the rear folding legs allows rapid and tool-free assembly of the machine. Naturally, the machine can also be produced in a vertical version on a front and rear support leg. However, the inclined version improves the stability of the machine and gives good access to the agitator covers. In addition, the residual paint (a few drops) from the spouts of the agitator lids, after use, does not fall on the underlying shelves but can be collected on the floor.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the agitator covers with their drive pinions 27 are driven by means of endless screws 29, installed individually on each of the shelves. These screws are rotated by means of the lateral transmission on the upright driven by the lower motor 9. The screws are located inside a sheath 31 provided with one or more longitudinal slots 33 at the front. This slot allows the teeth of the pinions of the covers to come into contact with the thread of the screw when they are put in place. The screws are journalled by end bearings on the side uprights. These ball bearing bearings 35 support the drive pulleys 37 of the screws at their end, inside the upright. They are also each secured to a plate 41. These plates are connected to a profile 39 supporting the legs 11, and they are provided with two hooks 13 (aforementioned) for the attachment of the shelf to the uprights, by the perforations. 15 amounts.

The worms can be made up of short elements 47 of injected plastic, about 300 mm in length. These elements are connected to each other with perfect coincidence of the threads to adapt to the desired screw length, usually from one to three meters, depending on the width of the machine. These screw elements have a split male end 49 provided with two external helical parts 51 at the same pitch as the screw. These parts come to the assembly of the elements engaging elastically and locking in a complementary recess 53 of a corresponding female part 55. In FIG. 6, it can be seen that the elements are driven in rotation by the opposite flats 57 of the ends.

In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the driven drive pulleys 37 are of the double toothed type. They receive two notched belts (59, 59 '), one receiving the movement of the lower shelf, each of the belts being held in place by means of a tension roller 61 as shown in FIG. 3. The drive is performed in direct connection from the motor pulley, which is of the asynchronous electric type. A speed reduction can be achieved by the play of the pulley diameters of the motor, for example according to the feeding frequency, which can vary from 50 to 60 HZ depending on the country, and in such a way that the proper rotation speed of the axes of the agitators of the covers is maintained.

As shown in Figure 7, the worms may consist of coil springs 63 made of steel wire of a diameter sufficient to ensure good axial rigidity. The sprockets of the agitator covers are designed to operate with such a spring screw. It is also recalled that the number of pinion teeth can vary, this to adapt to the desired stirring regime. This spring screw turns in its surrounding fur, which is made of plastic to avoid noise. The drive is carried out by means of an end piece 65 mounted on the bearing and taking the shape of the spring into which it is screwed from the inside. The direction of rotation is naturally provided so that the spring always remains in tight support on this end piece.

Note that one can consider other screw shapes than those described and, for example, from rotary extrusion with cut to length or simply welding on a tube of a rod having the shape of the screw thread.

The above clearly demonstrates the ease of setting up the desired configuration of the machine thanks to this new design of the transmission of movement, which makes it possible to install the shelves at the desired height and spacing, thanks to the rapid hooking of the hooks d 'fasteners on the perforations of the uprights and, possibly, to modify the configuration of the machine (number of shelves respectively for small and for large boxes), and to add additional shelves. The maneuver is therefore simple and quick and allows the optimal use of motive energy.
