Description

The invention relates to a ceiling element for a fire protection false ceiling, which has at least two, parallel to each other and spaced plates made of flame-retardant or non-combustible material, in particular made of mineral fiber material, further serving as a spacer and as a support profile strips made of metal on two parallel Plate edges are provided for connecting the plates and lie with angled edge legs in grooves that are located in the plate edges (see, for example, DE-A-4 036 735 by the same applicant).

Ceiling elements of the type mentioned are in use and generally meet the requirements placed on them in a satisfactory manner. Nevertheless, the invention is based on the problem of designing these known ceiling elements in such a way that they continue to meet increased fire protection requirements.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the profile strips from the groove of the upper plate up to and including the groove of the lower plate are arranged offset inwards relative to the edge surfaces of the plates and outwardly over their entire height with the aid of cover strips from a flame-retardant or non-combustible material are covered.

The metallic parts are thus better protected against high temperatures in the joint area, with the result that the load-bearing function of the profiled strips is retained longer than before in the event of a fire attack from above or a fire attack from below. Further features of the invention emerge from dependent claims in connection with the description and the drawing.

Dabei zeigen:

Fig. 2:
a detail on a larger scale.

According to FIG. 1, a ceiling element 1 for a fire protection false ceiling comprises at least two plates 2 and 3 made of flame-retardant or non-combustible material which are arranged parallel to one another and at a distance from one another. In particular, the plates 2 and 3 consist of mineral fiber material. Profile strips 4 and 5 made of metal are provided as spacers and as supports for the plates 2, 3 and are each arranged on two parallel plate edges 6 and 7 for connecting the plates 2 and 3 to form the ceiling element 1. The profile strips 4 and 5 keep the plates 2 and 3 at a distance from each other and connect them in a parallel and aligned position to each other.

In order to protect the profile strips 4 and 5 from possible high temperatures in the area of the gap or joint 8 between two adjacent ceiling elements 1 and 9, the profile strips 4, 5 are arranged offset to the interior 10 of the respective ceiling element 1, 9 and outwards covered with the help of at least one cover strip 11 made of a flame-retardant or non-combustible material. With their respective outer surface 12, the cover strips 11 lie flush with the edge surfaces 13 of the upper plate 2 and the lower plate 3.

According to the embodiment shown in the figures, the profile strips 4 and 5 each have angled edge legs 14 and 15, which are used for fixing to the plates 2 and 3 and engage there in grooves 16 and 17, which are located in the plate edges 6 and 7. The web 18 between the edge legs 14 and 15 can be flat or have beads 19 according to the exemplary embodiment.

The cover strip (s) 11 extend from the groove 16 of the upper plate 2 up to and including the groove 17 of the lower plate 3 and thus over the entire height and length of the profile strips 4, 5.

The respective upper plate 2 and / or the respective lower plate 3 can be in one piece or in several parts. This is indicated by the line 20 in FIGS. 1 and 2. Regardless of the one or more pieces of the plates 2, 3, these have mutually facing edge recesses 21, 22 for the cover strip (s) 11. This ensures that the cover strips 11 are aligned with their outer surface 12 with the free edge surfaces 13 of the upper and lower plates 2, 3.

To increase the strength, the ceiling element 1 can have at least one, preferably 2 cross members 23 which are fixed to the profile strips 4, 5 with the aid of dowels 24.

The cover strips 11 also preferably consist of a mineral fiber material.
