The bar on the lower part can be placed in such a way that in the security position of the closure it is attached behind a tab on the upper part.

Description

The present invention relates to a one-piece snap hinge closure made of plastic, consisting of a lower part and an upper part or cap connected thereto via a film hinge, which has a guarantee band integrally molded onto a closure part, and at least one recess in which a projecting latch engages with the other closure part , so that the two closure parts are positively locked before removal of the guarantee tape, that is to say in the guarantee position, the jacket walls of the cap and of the lower part being flush with one another when the closure is closed.
Plastic closures with a guarantee band have been known for a long time. This applies in particular to plastic screw caps for bottles. These are, in particular, closures consisting of a screw cap with a guarantee tape integrally molded thereon, which at least approximately completely runs around the closure. Guarantee tapes on snap hinge locks are much rarer. This has to do in particular with the considerably more complicated geometry. Snap hinge locks are mainly in the fully open Layer sprayed and only closed afterwards. The protruding parts on one closure part must be positively engaged with recesses on the other closure part or on the guarantee band. This requires a high degree of flexibility of the guarantee band, so that during the closing process the protruding parts, which serve as bolts, the predetermined breaking points over which the guarantee band is connected to the closure are not destroyed during the closing process.
A snap hinge closure of the type mentioned at the beginning with a guarantee band is known, for example, from US-A-4487324. In order to reduce the risk of destroying the connection of the guarantee band with the closure as much as possible, the guarantee band is kept as small as possible and the distance between the individual predetermined breaking points is relatively wide. Unfortunately, it has been shown that snap hinge locks of this type can be opened with a little skill without destroying the guarantee band. This is not least due to the fact that the locking mechanism is easily visible.

In contrast, US-A-4696408 shows a snap hinge closure made of plastic with a guarantee band which extends around half the circumference of the closure. The guarantee tape is molded onto the lower part of the closure via corresponding webs and extends far upwards that the cap or the upper part of the closure cannot be grasped in the guaranteed position of the closure. In a special embodiment, a recess is also provided in the guarantee band, in which a latch on the upper part of the closure engages in the recess in the guarantee position. However, this only represents an additional locking, the actual securing however consists in arranging the guarantee band around the cap of the closure in such a way that it cannot be gripped in the area opposite the hinge and therefore cannot be opened.

This type of plastic snap hinge closure has proven particularly useful on bottles. However, for smaller closures, for example on tubes, this type of snap hinge closure with a guarantee band is not suitable because the cap is too small to accommodate a user-friendly niche for opening. If the handle niche is too small, you have to attach a push button to the cap to open it. However, this protrudes so strongly that it can no longer be covered by the guarantee band or cannot be guided behind the band during the closing process without destroying the connection of the guarantee band to the lower part of the closure.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a snap hinge closure of the type mentioned at the outset which can be closed for the first time with less risk of destruction. Furthermore, the closure should be able to be designed for small closures, particularly when used on tubes, and should also allow the upper closure part to be provided with a large pusher.
This object is achieved by a snap hinge closure with the characterizing feature of patent claim 1.
Further advantageous embodiments according to the invention emerge from the dependent patent claims, and their meaning is explained in the following description with reference to the attached drawings.

In Figures 1 and 3, the plastic closure is shown in the guarantee position as it is placed on the container to be closed. In Figure 2, the same closure is already shown placed on a tube. As usual, the closure consists of a lower part 1, which is used for attachment to a container or tube T, and an upper part 2, which is designed as a lid. Lower part 1 and upper part 2 are integrally connected to one another via a film hinge 4. On the lower edge 2 'of the upper part 2, a guarantee band 3 is formed via webs 6. The webs 6 form predetermined breaking points which are destroyed when the guarantee tape 3 is removed. The snap action of the plastic closure is effected in the case shown by two spring elements 5, which are approximately adjacent to the film hinge 4, which represents the main joint axis. Each Spring element 5 has the shape of a U-shaped, expandable spring, one end of which is firmly connected to the upper part via a hinge point and to the lower part via a second hinge point. To operate the closure, a pusher 7 is formed on the upper part 2. This has the shape of a U-shaped bracket that protrudes beyond the circumference of the guarantee band 3. The pusher 7 is arranged on the upper part 2 directly above the guarantee band 3. The webs 6 which serve as predetermined breaking points are laterally distributed over this pusher 7 over the remaining circumference of the guarantee band 3. The guarantee band 3 extends approximately approximately half the circumference of the closure. A greater length of the guarantee band 3 than that shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 would hardly be closable into the guarantee position shown without destroying the outermost webs 6.

The lower part 1 consists of an outer, annular jacket wall 11, which is closed by a cover surface 12. An outlet grommet 13 passes through the top surface 12. The outlet nozzle communicates with the neck of the container on which the closure is placed. The ring wall 14, which runs concentrically around the outlet nozzle 13, serves to hold the closure on the container neck mentioned. This takes place by means of a positive connection, which is realized with a holding groove 15 in the inner surface of the annular wall 14. The real one Sealing between the lower part 1 and the upper part 2 takes place by means of an annular bead 16 on the upper edge of the outlet nozzle 13. The upper part or the cap 2 also has an annular jacket wall 21 which, when the closure is closed, lies flush with the jacket wall 11 in a vertical manner. The jacket wall 21 of the cap 2 is closed by a cover surface 20. A sealing ring wall 26 is formed on the inner surface of the top surface 20 and is exactly aligned with the outlet nozzle 13 in the lower part 1. On the inner surface of the sealing ring wall 26 an annular bead 22 is in turn attached, which cooperates with the annular bead 16 on the spout 13 results in a seal.
The guarantee position of the closure is only ensured in that an element on the lower part 1 of the closure engages with a recess 27 in the guarantee band 3. This can be done in different ways. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1-7, this is done with a bolt 17 which is shaped as an aligned extension of the top surface 12 and can be brought into engagement with a recess 27 which is provided in the region of the free space 23 of the lever 7. The pusher 7 itself has the shape of a U-shaped bracket. The main advantage of such a configuration is that the locking mechanism is not visible at all in the guaranteed position of the closure. In contrast, the variant of the lock, as shown in Figures 8 and 9, is clearly visible. The bolt 17 is no longer in alignment with the top surface 12 of the lower part, but is sprayed slightly offset relative to the surface thereof. The recess 27 is therefore no longer flush with the upper edge of the guarantee band 3.
The alternative according to FIGS. 8 and 10 again shows a concealed lock. This is done by means of a niche 24 in the guarantee band, which performs the function of the recess 27 and has a lower locking edge 25. The bolt 17 on the jacket wall 11 has the opposite shape of this recess 24.
The advantage of all these variants can be seen in the fact that regardless of the small size of the closure, the function can be guaranteed perfectly. Even if the closure is very small and a correspondingly relatively large pusher 7 must be attached, this is never in the way. The arrangement of the guarantee band 3 on the upper part; or cap 2 thus allows the designer much more freedom in the aesthetic design of the closure and increases the ease of use.
