Claims (12)

  1. Clamping device for a plane thread layer (FS) having a clamping rail (1) extending at right angles to the threads of the thread layer, characterized in that the clamping rail is fixed and has a clamping member, which is movable relative to the clamping rail and comprises a plurality of adjacent clamping parts (3) for clamping the thread layer against the clamping rail (1), the clamping parts being of a bow- or wing-like construction and being swing-adjustable between a clamping position and an insertion position, in which they are disposed in the clamping rail so as to be aligned parallel to the threads of the thread layer for unilateral engagement into the thread layer, and in the clamping position, in which the warp thread layer is clamped, the clamping device extends over both sides of the warp thread layer (FS).
  2. Clamping device according to claim 1, characterized in that across the thread layer a plurality of clamping parts (3) are disposed adjacent to one another on the clamping rail (1), which clamping parts engage from one side of the thread layer into said thread layer and, in the clamping position, form at the other side of the thread layer a continuous clamping member extending across the thread layer and that the clamping parts (3) are supported on the clamping rail (1) so as to be rotatable and alignable transversely and parallel to the threads of the thread layer.
  3. Clamping device according to claim 2, characterized in that the clamping parts (3) have an oblong shape and in their insertion position are aligned parallel, and in their clamping position are aligned at right angles to the threads forming the thread layer (FS).
  4. Clamping device according to claim 3, characterized in that the clamping parts (3) are formed by lamellar wings tapered in the direction of insertion, and that each clamping part is carried by a pin (2) which is strokeadjustable relative to the clamping rail (1) and is pivotable about its own axis.
  5. Clamping device according to claim 4, characterized in that the length of the clamping parts (3) at their base carried by the pins (2) is greater than the spacing of the pins so that, in the clamping position, an overlap zone is formed between adjacent clamping parts.
  6. Clamping device according to claim 5, characterized in that the clamping parts (3) have a graduation (A) in the region of said overlap zone.
  7. Clamping device according to one of claims 4 to 6, characterized in that the pins (2) of the clamping elements (K1 - Kn) are supported on the clamping rail (1) and are carried by a common retaining member (5), which is drivable in the direction of stroke of the clamping elements.
  8. Clamping device according to claim 7, characterized in that the retaining member (5) has a first toothed rack (13), which acts as a carrier for the clamping elements (K1 - Kn) and is adjustable in said direction of stroke, and a second toothed rack (14), which is provided for adjustment of the first toothed rack and is adjustable longitudinally of the clamping rail (1), the toothings of said toothed racks meshing one with the other.
  9. Clamping device according to claim 8, characterized in that the second toothed rack (14) is connected for its adjustment in said direction to a drive means (15).
  10. Clamping device according to one of claims 4 to 6, characterized in that each pin, to enable swivelling about its axis, is provided with an adjusting arm (11), and that a rod- or slide-like operating member (10) is associated with the adjusting arms.
  11. Use of the clamping device according to claim 1 for clamping a warp thread layer, characterized by the following measures:
    a. positioning of the clamping device at one side, above or below the thread layer;
    b. movement of the clamping device, with the clamping elements (K1 - Kn) of the clamping member in insertion position, towards the thread layer (FS) until the clamping elements pass through said thread layer;
    c. adjustment of the clamping elements into their clamping position and return movement towards the clamping rail to close the clamping gap formed between clamping elements and clamping rail and embracing the thread layer on both sides.
  12. Use according to claim 11, characterized by a mechanically driveable and controllable carrier for the clamping device and by mechanical drive means for movement of the clamping elements (K1 - Kn) in stroke and swivel direction.
