A needle strip according to the invention which is particularly suitable for putting the method into practice, is formed of needle-like stamped elements, which comprise asymetrical lateral projections, and which are lined up in such manner that the projections are directed towards the one or the other side in alternating manner, so that air channels are formed between the projections.

Description

The invention is directed to a method for cleaning a pinstrip, in particular a fixed comb for textile preparation machines, comprising at least one row of needles fixed between two cover plates, the needle tips projecting beyond the inner edge of the cover plates by a certain amount, forming free passages between them whereby compressed air is passed through the free passages, and onto a pinstripe for carrying out the method.

Such a method and a corresponding pinstripe are known from DE-PS 37 22 481. There it is already stated that it is possible to work with overpressure or underpressure in order to generate a cleaning airflow. The measures described in the generic patent specification are aimed exclusively at the mechanical cleaning of the cleaning comb previously carried out z. B. by cleaning blades, such as are known from DE 29 42 588 A1, to replace the needles mechanically gentle, which can be realized even in confined spaces by means of an air stream.

Proceeding from this, the invention is based on the object, by a defined control of the direction of the air flow, taking advantage of the pressure or Suction devices to improve such a method so that not only reliable cleaning is achieved, but also the guidance of the sliver is optimized.

This object is achieved in that, depending on the working cycle of the machine in which the pinstripe is inserted, the free passages between the needles or the area in front of the needles are alternately pressurized or underpressured.

In particular, it is advantageously provided that when the pinstrip is designed as a fixed comb, which is arranged downstream of a pliers arrangement, a vacuum is applied in the phase of closing the pliers arrangement until the closed state is reached in order to hold the fibers on the fixed comb, and only after After closing the pliers, compressed air is applied for cleaning.

The negative pressure holds the fibers drawn out of the pliers by the draw-off rollers in the spaces between the needles in the direct draw-off line. This prevents the fibers from going the easier way after the fleece in the pliers is released and from being pulled uncleaned away under the tips of the fixed comb into the take-off rollers. Due to the negative pressure or the suction flow, the rear ends of the fibers that have left the pliers can be raised during the tearing off. These then no longer sag downwards. Accordingly, it is ensured that combing takes place through the fixed comb.

According to the invention, the existing air ducts are also used to improve the fiber guidance through the fixed comb. Furthermore, the alternating application of negative and positive pressure and the resulting changing direction of the air flow through the fixed comb means that the settling of contaminants is largely prevented.

Die Deckbleche 2 und 3 sind insbesondere bei einer Verklebung der Nadeln 1 vorgesehen.1 and 2, which is used as a fixed comb, comprises a series of needles 1, which are arranged between a first cover plate 2 and a second cover plate 3. The needles 1 can be connected to one another by gluing or soldering. The cover plates 2 and 3 are provided in particular when the needles 1 are glued.

A tip region 4 is formed by embossing the needles 1 starting from a point 5, reducing their original thickness. The remaining section is referred to as shaft 6. In conventional needle combs, the shaft region 7 is largely covered by the cover plates 2, 3.

There are free passages F between the needles 1, which are determined by the ratio of the thicknesses of the embossed tip region 4 and the undeformed shaft 6. The width of the shaft 6 specifies how many needles 1 are provided per unit length of the pinstrip, since the shafts 6 lie close together.

The length of the protruding needle tips 4 is referred to as the board V.

In a generic embodiment of such a pinstrip known from DE 37 22 481 B1, it is provided that the first cover plate 2 is shorter than the second cover plate 3 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 9 of the needle, by an amount that is larger as an additional embossing section 10 of the needles 1, which has the length X. This additional embossing section 10 creates air channels 11 between the needles 1, which extend from below the inner edge 12 of the first, shorter cover plate 2 to the inner edge 13 of the second longer cover plate 3 and open into the free passage F between two adjacent needles 1.

Due to the embossing 10, the needles 1 in this area have a reduced width B compared to a width A in the area of the shaft 7.

In the same way, a vacuum can also be applied via the channels provided accordingly. The fixed comb 14 shown in FIG. 3 has, for example, air guide chambers 15 and 16.

The fixed comb 14 is arranged in the transport direction (arrow 17) of the sliver 18 of a pair of pliers 19, which consists of upper pliers 20 and lower pliers 21 with a drive, not shown in detail. The pliers arrangement 19 opens and closes in cycles depending on the circulation of a combing segment 22 of a comb roller 23, which is only indicated in its periphery, such that when the combing segment 22 passes, the sliver 18 is held between the upper pliers 20 and the lower pliers 21, so that the fibers can be combed, and that the pliers arrangement 19 opens in the subsequent phase, so that the combed section of the sliver can be drawn off by two take-off rollers 24 arranged in the transport direction (arrow 17).

Coordinated in time with the opening and closing of the pliers assembly 19, compressed air is applied via the air chambers 15, 16, which emerges in the direction of the arrow 25 and blows contaminants away from the area of the needle board V, or a negative pressure is applied which causes an air flow in the opposite direction to Arrow 25 generates, through which the fibers of the sliver 18 are guided into the area of the needle board V of the fixed comb 14. The excess pressure is then applied when the pliers arrangement 19 is closed in order to remove the impurities remaining on the fixed comb 16 in the previous combing process.

Der Ansatz 29 kann etwa die Breite des Nadelfußes 28 aufweisen.FIGS. 4 to 6 show how a pinstrip can be designed to be particularly advantageous for carrying out the method according to the invention. Such a pinstripe consists of a plurality of needle-like stamped parts 26 with a tip 27 and a foot 28. The foot 28 has a lateral extension 29 below the tip area, so that the entire needle-like stamped part 26 becomes asymmetrical. The approach 29 can have approximately the width of the needle foot 28.

In Fig. 4, two such stamped parts 26 are rotated 180 ° against each other. These punched parts 26 can be lined up by pushing them together in the direction of the arrows 30, as shown in FIG. 5, that is to say that the needle tips 27 lie congruently one behind the other, whereas the lugs 29, viewed in the direction of the lined-up needle strip 31, alternate to the left one after the other or protrude to the right, as can be seen in the sectional view according to FIG. 6. As a result, air ducts 34, which are located in the region of the upper end edges, are formed between two successive projections 29, each projecting to the same side, the intermediate die-cut base body of the die-cut part 26 extending in the other direction and the respective cover plate 32 or 33 35 of the approaches 29, that is to say in the area of the tips 27, and overall form a relatively large cross-section for the application of a negative or positive pressure, so that the pressure conditions in the tip area and, accordingly, the strength and direction of the very effectively and with the required power prevailing air flow can be adjusted.
