Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP91/00016 Sec. 371 Date Jul. 16, 1992 Sec. 102(e) Date Jul. 16, 1992 PCT Filed Jan. 7, 1991 PCT Pub. No. WO91/10798 PCT Pub. Date Jul. 25, 1991.The present invention relates to a magnetic card lock with key card which can be inserted into an insertion shaft with gripping opening, the key card being first insertable up to a first stop position, and in which position the key code is requested, and thereupon displaceable by an actuation distance up into the second stop position; in order to obtain a solution which is particularly easily manipulated, it proposes that the broad surface of the key card on its end facing away from the direction of insertion have a visibly differentiated first partial surface (100) which fills up the surface of the gripping opening (107) and is visible in the second stop position.

Description

The invention relates to a magnetic card lock with a key card according to the preamble of the main claim.

Magnetic card locks with key cards have been known for a long time. For example, DE-OS 37 02 730 discloses a magnetic card lock with permanent magnets arranged in the key card, the position and polarization of which form the key secret. The basic structure of a magnetic card lock is apparent from European patent application 242 142, the lock having an insertion slot for a key card designed as a magnetic card. The lock has a displaceable slide into which the magnetic card can be inserted up to a first stop position. If the magnetic key card is correctly coded, this slide can be displaced by an actuation path into a second stop position by further pushing the magnetic card into the lock housing. This relocation results in the release of the locking mechanism. In the first stop position, the query position, magnetic tumbler pins of the lock device are moved by interactions with the permanent magnets of the key card assigned to them. A key card with the appropriate key secret can then be shifted to a second stop position, the release position.

In order to avoid incorrect switching and to ensure whether a correctly coded key or an incorrectly coded key has been inserted, it is therefore desirable to receive information from the lock on the locking position in which it is.

The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a generic key card such that a visual display of the locking mechanism position is provided with simple means.

The task is solved by the characteristic features of the main claim.

Die Unteransprüche stellen vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen dar.The subclaims represent advantageous developments.

As a result of a magnetic card lock designed in this way with a key card, the position of the locking mechanism can be determined at any time. If the key card is first inserted into the magnetic card lock up to the first stop position, the query position, then in addition to the first partial surface, there is also the second partial surface, which, for example, in order to be clearly visible from the first partial surface, may have a color different from the first partial surface, visible. The locking mechanism position (query position) is immediately recognizable through the visibility of the second partial area. A user can also see from a distance that the locking mechanism is not released. Rather, in order to release the lock, it is necessary to insert the key card into the lock by one actuation path up to the second stop position (release position). With a key card bearing the correct coding, the second partial area is then no longer visible. An incorrectly coded key card is immediately recognizable in a magnetic card lock designed in this way without the need to actuate the lock, since the second partial area, forming an insertion marking strip, does not disappear. According to a further advantageous embodiment, the first partial area settles in the direction of insertion into a tapered section. As a result, the user receives information about the correct insertion direction of the key card. The tip of the first partial area lies approximately on the transverse line of the key card which corresponds to the release position when the key card is withdrawn. This provides a visual display of the path by which the card must be pulled out until the lock can be actuated, this path being greater than the actuation path. A further embodiment of the key card provides for the second partial area to be designed as a strip, the width of which corresponds to the actuation path, and beyond this strip to provide a third, optically separated partial area which, when the key pull-out position leading to the release is reached, fills the gripping opening approximately over the entire surface . This also shows that the release of the lock has been canceled. According to a further embodiment, the second surface area, which indicates the interrogation position of the lock, can have gussets that extend on both sides next to the first partial area on the longitudinal edges of the key card, so that they are exposed in the first stop position and largely in the second stop position by the key card insertion rails are covered. The second surface area can furthermore have arrows pointing in the direction of insertion, which ends in the query position with their tips in front of the front edge of the gripping opening. This provides the user with additional information which, in the query position, inserts the key card which is inserted in the lock to release the locking mechanism up to the second stop position. An important advantage of the invention is that it makes it possible to do this without changing existing locks, to provide this subsequently with a visual display, the key card being used in addition to the function of carrying the key secret, also as a kind of dipstick to indicate the position of the slide inside the lock and thus its locking mechanism position.

The key card 8 shown in FIGS. 1-5 has a region 100 which is clearly visible. This first partial surface 100 is preceded by a second partial surface 101, which extends from one longitudinal edge across the card surface to the other longitudinal edge, interrupted by a tapering section of the first partial surface 100. The upper edge 102 of the second partial surface is arranged such that, in particular 5, it is aligned with the front edge 106 of the gripping opening 107 when the key card is inserted up to the release position. In this position, the rotary knob 4 is coupled to the actuating mandrel 49 by a displacement of the coupling sleeve 46. The gussets 108, 109 of the second partial surface 101 are arranged on both sides of the first partial surface so that they are visible in this position and are largely covered by the insertion rails 104, 105 when the key card is inserted until the release position. The base line 103 of the second partial surface is positioned such that it is aligned with the end edge 106 of the gripping opening 107 when the key card is inserted up to the query position.

The second partial surface 101 has arrows 110, 111 on both sides of the section of the first partial surface 100 which interrupts it and which point in the insertion direction and whose tip ends in front of the base line 103.

The tip 104 of the section of the first partial surface 100 which tapers in the direction of insertion of the card is in alignment with the end edge 106 of the gripping opening 107 when the key card 8 is pulled out the release position of the lock is canceled. The rotary knob 4 is then uncoupled from the actuating mandrel 49 by moving the coupling sleeve 46.

The magnetic card lock 1 shown in FIGS. 6-9 has a lock case 3, which is fixed on the outside of the door and has a rectangular outline, which has an external turning handle 4 at one end, with the aid of which a bolt or a latch, not shown, can be withdrawn. The lock case 3 is provided at the other end with an insertion slot 7 for a key card 8 magnetized in some areas.

The lock case 3 receives a housing 9 which has a cover 13 which is fixed to the housing 9 by means of screws 16.

On the underside of the lid, a slider 17 made of plastic and in the form of a plate is guided. The guide surface opposite the cover 13 forms a perforated plate 18 made of brass, which is inserted into the housing 9 from the cover side. The holes 20 of the perforated plate 18 are aligned in the position (locking position) of the lock 1 shown in FIG. 6 with corresponding bearing recesses 21 of the slide 17, which holes are designed as through holes of the slide. Magnetic tumbler pins 22 are located in the bearing recesses 21. It is not necessary to provide a tumbler pin 22 in each bearing recess 21, since the number, the position and the polarity of the tumbler pins 22 depend on the respective locking secret of the lock 1.

On the perforated plate 18 is a copper baffle 23, which is opposite an anchor plate 24. The latter will held in position by compression springs. In contrast to the other components, the anchor plate 24 consists of ferromagnetic material. The anchor plate 24 thus attracts the magnetic tumbler pins 22, as a result of which they engage in the holes 20 in the perforated plate 18. In this position, the slide 17 cannot be shifted from its basic position illustrated in FIG. 6, since the engagement of the tumbler pins 22 in the perforated plate 18 fixed to the housing prevents this.

Ihre einander gegenüberliegende Wandflächen bilden den Schlüsselkartenschacht 30.Both the anchor plate 24 and the guide plate 23 connect to the insertion slot 7 of the lock case 3. Their opposite wall surfaces form the key card slot 30.

Fig. 6.A tension spring 33 serving as a return spring is fixed at one end to a cross pin 34 of the cover 13. The other end of the tension spring 33 engages on a projection 35 of the slide 17. As a result, the slide is moved into a basic position (locking position) which is limited in FIG. 6. The bevel 38 of the nose 36 of the slide 17 is designed in the same direction. It engages on the inclined surface 40 of a web 42 of a tongue 43 made of spring material. The latter is positively embedded on the top of the cover 13 and fixed with the cover screws 16. The inclined surface 40 of the web 42 is formed by a bend which is directed away from the bevel 38 and extends in the immediate vicinity in the basic position, cf. Fig. 6.

Fig. 6, umfaßt die Kupplungshülse 46 ausschließlich ein Zahnrad 47. The tongue 43 engages with its fork-shaped free end 44 in an annular groove 45 of a coupling sleeve 46. The latter is internally toothed. According to the uncoupled basic position, cf. Fig. 6, includes the coupling sleeve 46 exclusively a gear 47. This continues in a bearing sleeve 48 with the square pin 49, which is coupled to a door lock. The bearing sleeve 48 is rotatably supported in a lock case base plate 50. The bearing sleeve 48 is secured against being pulled off by a radially outwardly directed collar 48 ′ provided on it, which is supported on the inside of the lock case base plate 50. A gear 51 is located opposite the gear 47. Both gears 47, 51 are identical in their teeth and adapted to the inner teeth of the coupling sleeve 46. The gear 51 in turn is, however, firmly connected to the external turning handle 4. A central pin 52 is used to stabilize the position of the gear wheels 47, 51, but does not influence the rotatability of the gear wheels 47, 51. The length of the gear 47 corresponds approximately to that of the coupling sleeve 46. In the uncoupled position, the inner end of the coupling sleeve 46 ends in front of the facing end of the gear 51. A rotational displacement of the external turning handle therefore does not lead to entrainment of the gear 47 and thus the square pin 49.

The slider 17 can be locked in its forward position (release position). Resilient locking cams 70, which are formed by locking hooks 41, serve for locking transversely to the slide displacement. The latter are rotatably mounted about an axis 39 in the slide 17.

For the purpose of actuating the lock from the outside by means of the external turning handle 4, it is necessary to insert the correspondingly coded key card 8 into the insertion slot 7. It displaces the anchor plate 24 acted upon by the compression springs in the transverse direction. The key card 8 inserted up to the first stop position comes with its end edge 8 'in front of the driver projection 69 of the slide 17. Furthermore, the magnetic tumbler pins 22 have been displaced by the magnetized areas such that they leave the holes 20 of the perforated plate 18. Then the latching hooks 41 projecting into the card insertion path have been applied during the insertion movement, whereby they are correspondingly displaced in the transverse direction such that the latching nocks 70 then protrude into openings in the cover 13. During the subsequent further movement of the key card 8 by the actuation path into the release position, the slide 17 is displaced against the force of the tension spring 33. The locking cams 70 undercut the resilient stop of a leaf spring 71. As soon as the locking cams 70 have completely undercut the spring 71, these are fixed (FIG. 8). The slide 17 is thereby locked against relocation.

Along with the forward displacement of the slide 17, the beveled surface 40 of the web 42 is displaced by the bevel 38 of the nose 36. The coupling sleeve 46 is shifted into the driving position shown in FIG. 8. Both gear wheels 47, 51 are encompassed by the coupling sleeve 46. A door lock can be actuated by means of the external turning handle 4.

Uncoupling requires the key card 8 to be withdrawn. After a partial displacement, the key card releases the latching hook 41 so that it can withdraw under the spring 71, the latching being released. The return spring 33 tensioned during the forward displacement pulls the slide 17 back into its basic position. This is also associated with a displacement of the coupling sleeve 46 into the decoupling position.
