Abstract

This counterweight (2, 3) is articulated, by its support (1), to the rear of the rotating platform (14) of the crane. In the transport configuration, it is turned down in a horizontal position and is thus placed approximately at the centre of gravity of the vehicle transporting the crane. In the working configuration, it is raised in a vertical position, at the rearmost part of the platform. Its front end (lugs 8) is articulated by connecting rods (10) to the lower segment (12) of the folding tower (4, 12) of the crane, such that the counterweight is turned down and raised automatically when the tower is folded up and opened out, under the action of a jack. In the folded-up position, the tower is placed between the two upper bodies (2) of the counterweight. <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to a crane as defined in the preamble of claim 1, and shown in the brochure of the company "Comanso" concerning the model crane "Hi-Tec HT1640".

The modern technology of foldable cranes allows for quick and automatic assembly of said cranes at the place of use as well as a convenient and simple transport to the desired place, an advantage that can only be fully obtained if the counterweight is part of the crane both in work and in transport.

However, because of the proper functions of the counterweight which are: on the one hand to balance the tilting torque of the boom and part of the useful torque, on the other hand, to provide the crane with the torque necessary to ensure its stability , this requires placing this counterweight on the rear part of the turntable, which means that, on many occasions, the transport conditions are unsatisfactory, due to the position in which the center of gravity of the folded crane.

Since this position of the counterweight in turn prevents the use of all the space available with the folded crane in transport, which results in a limitation of the volume of transportable ballast, so that in cranes large dimensions, all the counterweight necessary for operation cannot be incorporated into the crane during transport; with the consequence that the assembly and disassembly of the unincorporated counterweight complicates the assembly process, which obviously deprives rapid assembly technologies of their maximum impact.

To overcome these drawbacks, according to the object of the present invention, there is provided a mobile counterweight system in which the counterweight can be placed alternately in working or transport positions by an appropriate tilting of the latter tilting. by which, in the working position, it is placed in its effective position behind the crane while in the transport position it is folded forward, thus being able to occupy all the space available between the folded structures of the crane and in turn advancing the center of gravity of the folded assembly, so that a better distribution of the load on the crane transport vehicle is obtained.

This object is achieved by the characteristics defined in the characterizing part of claim 1.

In this way, the automation of the crane stationing remains fully preserved, at the same time that the counterweight can remain whole in the transport position. This gives great rapidity in setting up and, on the other hand, very good conditions for transport, since the counterweight is entirely housed within the limits of the folded assembly of the tower and the boom, and with the center of gravity moved towards the center.

According to a practical embodiment, it is further provided that the corresponding folding actuation and unfolding cylinder of the crane is located between the counterweight support and the rotating platform, with articulated couplings at its ends, so that the weight of said actuating cylinder is added to that of the counterweight, increasing the effect of the latter in the working position while, in the transport position, said weight of the cylinder remains above the center of gravity of the assembly, thereby reducing the unfavorable weight of the folded assembly on the platform of the transport vehicle. At the same time, the front part of the tower remains free to accommodate an access ladder.

The object of the invention consists of a tilting counterweight system for foldable cranes according to which the counterweight consists of a support (1) in the form of an "L" on which the constituent bodies (2) and (3) are located. the actual counterweight. These bodies (2 and 3) are designed so that between the upper bodies (2), there remains a suitable vacuum to accommodate the upper segment (4) of the articulated tower of the crane in the transport position.

The lower body (3) of the counterweight, which can be formed in one piece or in several pieces, is directly supported on the longitudinal beams of the support (1) in "L" shape; said body (3) being fitted (see FIG. 5) on rings (5) integral with the above-mentioned longitudinal beams of the support (1), so that thus said body (3) is well centered, the fixing of this body, at the same time as that of the upper bodies (2), effected by means of bars (6) which are assembled by screwing, by one of their ends, to the above-mentioned rings (5) while, on their other end, are mounted nuts (7), so that it establishes a one-piece assembly in mounting between the support (1) and the respective counterweight bodies (2) and (3).

The longitudinal beams of the support (1) terminate at their free end by ears (8) by means of which they are articulated, on the axis (9) to connecting rods (10) which, by their other end, s' articulate by means of the axis (11) to the lower segment (12) of the articulated tower of the crane.

And on the other hand, the aforementioned support (1) is articulated in turn, by means of the axis (15), and in a more remote area, to uprights (13) located in the rear part of the plate - rotating form (14) of the crane.

C'est par l'intermédiaire de cet axe (16) que le segment inférieur (12) de la tour articulée s'assemble à la plate-forme tournante (14).With all of this thus arranged, the lower segment (12) of the articulated tower, the connecting rods (10), the longitudinal beams of the support (1) of the counterweight and the rotating platform (14) constitute a deformable quadrilateral with vertices articulated at right of the axes (9), (11) and (15) above and of the axis (16). It is via this axis (16) that the lower segment (12) of the articulated tower is assembled to the platform. rotating (14).

In this way, in the folded or transport position, as can be seen in FIG. 7, the upper segment (4) of the articulated tower rests on the lower body (3) of the counterweight, being housed between the upper bodies (2) of the latter; however that the aforesaid lower body (3) of the counterweight is housed between the upper segment (4) of the articulated tower and the rotating platform (14) and that the bodies (2) occupy the free spaces located on the sides of the segment upper (4) above of the tower.

Under these conditions, when the crane is unfolded, by actuation of the assembly (17) of tie rods and connecting rods intended to perform this operation, that is to say at the time when the elevation of the lower segment (12) of the tower, by turning on the axis (16), by means of the connecting rods (10), this causes a simultaneous tilting of the whole of the counterweight, by turning on the axis (15) corresponding, as seen in Figure 6.

Pour obtenir ce résultat, on a prévu ce que doit être la dimension longitudinale des bielles (10).And, when the unfolding process continues to its end, when the crane tower reaches its fully vertical position, as seen in Figure 9, the entire counterweight is in its correct working position, behind the crane, position which corresponds to a vertical situation of the aforementioned set of counterweights. To obtain this result, provision has been made for what must be the longitudinal dimension of the connecting rods (10).

According to a practical embodiment, it is provided that the cylinder (20), the actuation of which produces the folding and unfolding of the crane, is, as can be seen in FIGS. 10 and 11, between the platform rotating (14) and the support (1) of the counterweight, with articulation of one of its ends on the structure of the aforementioned rotating platform (14) by means of an axis (21) and with articulated mounting of its other end on the front crosspiece of the aforementioned support (1) of the counterweight by means of an axis (22).

And, on the other hand, the aforementioned front crosspiece of the support (1) of the counterweight assembles, for its part, using connecting rods (23) which are articulated to the actuating assembly (17) which is designed to ensure the simultaneous mobility of the two articulated segments (4 and 12) of the foldable tower.

With all of this, the actuation of the cylinder (20) causes the counterweight to tilt, in folding or lifting to place it in its respective positions, for transport or work, while said tilting of the counterweight causes, using the connecting rods ( 10), the simultaneous possibility of folding or lifting the lower segment (12) of the tower and, using the connecting rods (23), it in turn actuates the assembly (17) of actuation between the two segments (4 and 12) of the tower, so that, together with this possibility of folding and lifting the counterweight, the tower is automatically folded or unfolded.

In this way, the same effect is obtained as with the embodiment described above, in which the actuating cylinder (20) was located between the lower segment (12) of the tower and the actuating assembly (17) between the two articulated parts (4 and 12) of the tower. This amounts to saying that, by the sole actuation of the aforementioned actuating cylinder (20), the positioning of the counterweight in its respective working or transport positions is simultaneously produced, and the unfolding or folding resulting from the structure of the tower, for these work or transportation situations; by further obtaining with this new embodiment a more advantageous positioning of the aforementioned actuating cylinder (20) so that its weight is not detrimental in these positions of the crane, however that thus, in addition, the interior part of the crane remains free, for example to accommodate an access ladder.

The entire practical mechanism for producing the recommended system has been described in accordance with the above, by way of example of an application, in the case of a folding crane of the scissor type, but, of course, it is absolutely not an application. limiting since the system in question can likewise be applied to any type of folding crane in general, where it is capable of establishing a correlation of synchronized mobility between the whole of the counterweight disposed in tilting assembly and the own folding structure -ment called crane, which ultimately constitutes the essence of the recommended system.

And in any case, with this object of the invention system, what we get is that all the bodies (2) and (3) of the counterweight of the crane occupies all the space available between the foldable structure of the crane and the corresponding rotating platform (14), which allows that all the counterweight necessary for the effective operation of the crane remains incorporated in this transport position; however, on the other hand, the load of the assembly is appropriately distributed between the front and rear wheels (18) of the carrying carrying structure.

In this way, the drawbacks presented by these aspects of cranes fitted with a conventional counterweight (19), such as that shown in FIG. 1, in which, as can be seen in FIG. 8, are avoided ( 19) located in an immovable manner in its working location, overloads the front wheels (18) of the transport structure, leaving a large part of the free space between the foldable structure and the rotating platform (14) unoccupied, which does not only imply bad conditions for transport since, in addition, in the case of large cranes, the obligation to dismantle at least part of the counterweight (19) can be included so that transport is possible, which, in this case, assumes great prejudice for the simplicity and speed of assembly and disassembly of the crane.
