- the present invention relates to an improvement made to the installations used for carrying out the control and packaging in the form of a winding of determined length of material in strips, such as fabrics which, during their production, are stored in the form of a very long winding.
- the material is generally in the form of a roll which may include several hundred meters of material.
- Such operations therefore involve controlling, measuring, rewinding, cutting and finally packaging the material.
- the present invention relates to an improvement made to the installations making it possible to carry out these operations, an improvement which not only makes it possible to carry out the operations of unwinding, transferring and rewinding the fabric presented in a roll, but also can be combined with additional means making it possible to continuously carry out weighing and / or packaging operations.
- the machines proposed to date generally comprise, for carrying out the unwinding operation, an assembly comprising two cylinders or drums which tangentially support the roll of material and ensure its rotation, and consequently the unwinding of the material.
- the material thus unrolled is then engaged on return cylinders (motorized or not), and / or a widening system which makes it possible to convey it on a flat surface, often inclined, so that it can scroll opposite an operator. responsible for checking it in order to detect any faults it may have (holes, stains, differences in shade, etc.), this surface possibly consisting of a conveyor belt enabling the material to be held over its entire width, as is apparent from FR- A-2160 452.
- the length of the fabric delivered is controlled by means of a simple calibrated wheel, in direct contact with the material and which controls, by scrolling the latter, a counter.
- the fabric is received around a support (cardboard tube or other), the rotary drive of which is ensured by means of tangential cylinders or drums driven in rotation.
- the driving of the fabric both at the unwinding station and in the winding station is therefore done by friction, which generally involves covering the motorized drums with a layer of suitable material. to increase the adhesion of the fabric on said drums.
- Such an axial drive makes it possible to reduce the defects caused by a friction drive, but involves controlling the drive torque to obtain a constant tension, and complicates the enslavement of the actuators.
- the present invention not only eliminates the drawbacks of tangential or axial entrainment of the material both in unwinding and in winding, and also makes it possible to carry out the shortest and direct course of the fabric between the unwinding station and the winding station, facilitating the implementation of the fabric and also making it possible to eliminate the deformations produced by the return systems.
- the conveyor conveyors are as said previously inclined, their inclination being relatively strong (of the order of 20 to 30 °), and being inverted by a station relative to the 'other.
- the two cylinders associated with said belts make it possible to retain the rolls of fabric (supply and reception), ensuring good rotation of the rolls of material, regardless of their weight or their diameter; such an embodiment also eliminates any risk of seeing the roll of material "dancing" on the conveyor belt during its unwinding (or winding), even if the roll of fabric is not perfectly cylindrical.
- the conveyor belts have a voluntarily reduced tension, thus making it possible to increase the surface in contact on the rolls of fabric, eliminating any risk of slipping; in addition, additional return rollers are preferably associated with the supply and reception belts (either above the latter or in their extension), so that the material is positively supported on the surface of said belts.
- the intermediate belt which makes it possible to present the fabric in a planar manner in order to carry out the control thereof, may be slightly inclined or not; such a mat provides accompanied (or positive) transfer, which has the advantage of not allowing the fabric to change randomly and allows good control of the tension of said fabric between the unwinding and winding stations. These conditions also make it possible to obtain a very precise length measurement.
- such an assembly can be associated with means allowing lateral guidance of the material both as unwinding station and in winding station, which improves the presentation of the roll to be shipped.
- a control of the lateral positioning of the strip of material can be obtained by means of a sensor which observes an edge or edge of the fabric and controls an actuator, causing a lateral displacement of the station equipped during the scrolling of the fabric, so as to align the edge or edge of the observed fabric and, consequently, to align the edge of the fabric on itself.
- Such an assembly in accordance with the invention can be associated with means allowing the packaging and packaging of the roll of controlled material to be carried out automatically.
- the feeding (2) and receiving (5) stations are constituted by two endless moving belts (7,8) (or conveyor belts), which support the rolls of material ( 3,6) over the entire width.
- the belts (7,8) are preferably inclined, their inclination being relatively strong of the order of 20 to 30 °, and being inverted from one station relative to the other.

- additional deflection rollers (21,20) are associated with the feed (7) and reception (8) belts, so that the material is positively supported by said mats and that the fabric is not subjected to mechanical stresses (tension, pinching, etc.) during its course.
- the material viewing area (4) is, in the machine according to the invention, also constituted by a conveyor belt (11) disposed between the feeding (2) and receiving (5) stations.
- FIG. 2 schematically illustrates the kinematic chain for controlling the drive of the different belts (7,8,11) and rollers (9,10) that an installation according to the invention comprises.
- the control of the unwinding (7), display (11) and rewinding (5) stations is obtained by means of motors (M1, M2, M3) positively driving one of the rollers around which conveyor belts pass through.
- the two holding rollers (9,10) can be mounted to rotate freely, according to a preferred form according to the invention, the holding roller (10) provided at the rewinding station is positively driven in rotation, and this slightly faster than the endless belt or belt (8) associated therewith, which makes it possible to obtain compaction (hardness) of the roller (6) in formation.
- Such compaction can be obtained simply by controlling the roller (10) via an independent motor (M4) (assembly shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2), and this via a pulley (10 ′ ) of adjustable diameter allowing a speed of rotation of the roller (10) slightly higher (of the order of 2 to 3%) than the speed of the conveyor belt (8) associated therewith.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an improvement made to the installations used for carrying out the control and packaging in the form of a winding of determined length of material in strips, such as fabrics which, during their production, are stored in the form of a very long winding.
In the following description, the invention will be described for a machine for unwinding, checking (visiting), measuring, winding, cutting and wrapping fabrics, but it is obvious that this is not limiting and that such a installation could be used in other sectors where similar problems arise, such as for example in the paper industry.
It is well known that in the textile industry, during the entire production phase of the fabric (whether it is a fabric or a knitted fabric), the material is generally in the form of a roll which may include several hundred meters of material.
At the end of the manufacturing stage, it is necessary to carry out a control operation (visit) to, on the one hand, detect the defects that the product may present, and on the other hand and above all, condition the fabric produced so as to to have determined lengths corresponding to demand.
Such operations therefore involve controlling, measuring, rewinding, cutting and finally packaging the material.
The present invention relates to an improvement made to the installations making it possible to carry out these operations, an improvement which not only makes it possible to carry out the operations of unwinding, transferring and rewinding the fabric presented in a roll, but also can be combined with additional means making it possible to continuously carry out weighing and / or packaging operations.
- unroll the material from a roll,
- bring the said fabric onto a panel, inclined or not, to allow its viewing in order to control it,
- winding said fabric so as to again form a roll comprising a determined length of variable material as a function of the need expressed.
The machines proposed to date generally comprise, for carrying out the unwinding operation, an assembly comprising two cylinders or drums which tangentially support the roll of material and ensure its rotation, and consequently the unwinding of the material.
The material thus unrolled is then engaged on return cylinders (motorized or not), and / or a widening system which makes it possible to convey it on a flat surface, often inclined, so that it can scroll opposite an operator. responsible for checking it in order to detect any faults it may have (holes, stains, differences in shade, etc.), this surface possibly consisting of a conveyor belt enabling the material to be held over its entire width, as is apparent from FR- A-2160 452.
The length of the fabric delivered is controlled by means of a simple calibrated wheel, in direct contact with the material and which controls, by scrolling the latter, a counter.
At the exit from the control surface, the fabric is received around a support (cardboard tube or other), the rotary drive of which is ensured by means of tangential cylinders or drums driven in rotation.
In these types of installations, the driving of the fabric both at the unwinding station and in the winding station is therefore done by friction, which generally involves covering the motorized drums with a layer of suitable material. to increase the adhesion of the fabric on said drums.
These systems require perfect synchronization in speed of all the drive drums, so as not to create tension on the fabric which would cause thereon not only geometric deformations, but also errors in the measurement of the length. .
These various constraints therefore lead to producing assemblies in which the number of return cylinders is multiplied between the winding and unwinding stations, as well as unfolding systems (widening screws, curved bars, slatted cylinders), and this in order obtain good winding arcs to minimize slippage; moreover, it is necessary to synchronize the speed of the different actuators by suitable systems.
Consequently, such installations lead to a course of the fabric between the unwinding station and the very winding winding station, which has the consequence of subjecting it to stresses which, on the one hand, geometrically deform it, and on the other hand, as said previously, distort the measurement of length.
Furthermore, such a design of machines causes great difficulty in re-engaging the fabric in its course with each replacement of the food roll of material and, consequently, a significant immobilization detrimental to good productivity by greater downtime. in most cases during operating time.
In addition, with such machines, it is difficult to eliminate any slippage and to obtain a perfectly constant speed, taking into account that the fabrics have a variable adhesion according to their texture.
Other types of machines, which make it possible to fulfill the same functions, use to drive the feed roll of material and the winding roll, an axial drive and not a tangential drive. Such a solution further complicates the implementation since it is necessary to introduce a mandrel inside the support tubes of the fabric, both at the unwinding station and in the winding station, to ensure their training in rotation.
Such an axial drive makes it possible to reduce the defects caused by a friction drive, but involves controlling the drive torque to obtain a constant tension, and complicates the enslavement of the actuators.
The present invention not only eliminates the drawbacks of tangential or axial entrainment of the material both in unwinding and in winding, and also makes it possible to carry out the shortest and direct course of the fabric between the unwinding station and the winding station, facilitating the implementation of the fabric and also making it possible to eliminate the deformations produced by the return systems.
- un poste de déroulage (ou d'alimentation) de la matière stockée sous la forme d'un rouleau ;
- un poste de visualisation sur lequel ladite matière défile à plat et qui est constitué par un tapis transporteur permettant de maintenir la matière sur toute sa largeur ;
- un poste de réenroulement (ou de réception) permettant de former un nouveau rouleau de longueur déterminée ;
- a station for unwinding (or feeding) the material stored in the form of a roll;
- a viewing station on which said material runs flat and which is constituted by a conveyor belt making it possible to hold the material over its entire width;
- a rewinding (or receiving) station for forming a new roll of determined length;
- means making it possible to measure the length of controlled material and to cut it to a determined length,
Thanks to such an assembly therefore comprising three conveyor belts (or bands), a perfectly distributed support of the fabric is obtained throughout its journey.
In the assemblies constituting the unrolling and receiving stations, the conveyor conveyors are as said previously inclined, their inclination being relatively strong (of the order of 20 to 30 °), and being inverted by a station relative to the 'other. The two cylinders associated with said belts make it possible to retain the rolls of fabric (supply and reception), ensuring good rotation of the rolls of material, regardless of their weight or their diameter; such an embodiment also eliminates any risk of seeing the roll of material "dancing" on the conveyor belt during its unwinding (or winding), even if the roll of fabric is not perfectly cylindrical.
Advantageously, the conveyor belts have a voluntarily reduced tension, thus making it possible to increase the surface in contact on the rolls of fabric, eliminating any risk of slipping; in addition, additional return rollers are preferably associated with the supply and reception belts (either above the latter or in their extension), so that the material is positively supported on the surface of said belts.
The intermediate belt, which makes it possible to present the fabric in a planar manner in order to carry out the control thereof, may be slightly inclined or not; such a mat provides accompanied (or positive) transfer, which has the advantage of not allowing the fabric to change randomly and allows good control of the tension of said fabric between the unwinding and winding stations. These conditions also make it possible to obtain a very precise length measurement.
Thanks to such an assembly in which the fabric is, throughout its course, always positively accompanied, it is possible to obtain a very short and direct path impossible to achieve with the previous solutions.
Furthermore, such an assembly can be associated with means allowing lateral guidance of the material both as unwinding station and in winding station, which improves the presentation of the roll to be shipped. According to one embodiment, such a control of the lateral positioning of the strip of material can be obtained by means of a sensor which observes an edge or edge of the fabric and controls an actuator, causing a lateral displacement of the station equipped during the scrolling of the fabric, so as to align the edge or edge of the observed fabric and, consequently, to align the edge of the fabric on itself.
Furthermore, such an assembly in accordance with the invention can be associated with means allowing the packaging and packaging of the roll of controlled material to be carried out automatically.

The belts (7,8) are preferably inclined, their inclination being relatively strong of the order of 20 to 30 °, and being inverted from one station relative to the other.
To maintain the rolls of fabric (3,6) against the surface of the belts (7,8), the latter are associated with two cylinders (9,10), arranged above the belts, transversely to the latter, and which therefore make it possible to retain the rolls of fabric (3,6) while ensuring good rotation of said rollers, regardless of their weight or their diameter. Such an embodiment also eliminates any risk of the rolls of material "dancing" on the conveyor belts (7,8) during their unwinding or winding, even if the roll is not perfectly cylindrical. In addition, additional deflection rollers (21,20) are associated with the feed (7) and reception (8) belts, so that the material is positively supported by said mats and that the fabric is not subjected to mechanical stresses (tension, pinching, etc.) during its course.
The material viewing area (4) is, in the machine according to the invention, also constituted by a conveyor belt (11) disposed between the feeding (2) and receiving (5) stations.
L'intérêt d'une telle motorisation indépendante permet également de pouvoir régler avec précision la vitesse, et ce par l'intermédiaire d'un potentiomètre actionné directement depuis le pupitre de commande.FIG. 2 schematically illustrates the kinematic chain for controlling the drive of the different belts (7,8,11) and rollers (9,10) that an installation according to the invention comprises. In general, the control of the unwinding (7), display (11) and rewinding (5) stations is obtained by means of motors (M1, M2, M3) positively driving one of the rollers around which conveyor belts pass through. Furthermore, if the two holding rollers (9,10) can be mounted to rotate freely, according to a preferred form according to the invention, the holding roller (10) provided at the rewinding station is positively driven in rotation, and this slightly faster than the endless belt or belt (8) associated therewith, which makes it possible to obtain compaction (hardness) of the roller (6) in formation. Such compaction can be obtained simply by controlling the roller (10) via an independent motor (M4) (assembly shown in dotted lines in FIG. 2), and this via a pulley (10 ′ ) of adjustable diameter allowing a speed of rotation of the roller (10) slightly higher (of the order of 2 to 3%) than the speed of the conveyor belt (8) associated therewith. The advantage of such an independent motorization also makes it possible to be able to precisely regulate the speed, and this by means of a potentiometer actuated directly from the control console.
Furthermore, such an assembly can be associated with means controlling the movement of a lateral edge of the material and allowing, by transverse displacement (represented by the dotted arrows in FIG. 2) unwinding and rewinding stations, d '' have a perfect alignment of the edge of the fabric on itself, allowing to obtain a very good presentation of the roll to be shipped.
Finally, the machine according to the invention can be associated with means making it possible to automatically condition, weigh and package the roll (6) of controlled material. Such means are shown only in FIGS. 3a to 3n which illustrate the material from which an installation according to the invention operates.
As is apparent from these Figures 3a to 3n, the implementation of such an installation is as follows.
First (Figure 3a), the operator, after positioning a roller (3) on the conveyor belt (7) forming the unwinding station (2), presents the end (13) of the fabric (E ) on the second conveyor belt (11) acting as a control table (FIG. 3b), either directly (as shown in solid lines), or indirectly (as shown in dotted lines), the fabric then passing around the deflection roller ( 21). In FIGS. 3c to 3i, these two possibilities of passage are shown (direct passage in solid lines, passage around the deflection roller (21) in dotted lines).
Cela étant fait, depuis un pupitre de commande placé devant la machine, l'opérateur commande la mise en route de l'installation, le tapis transporteur (11) véhiculant l'étoffe (E) jusqu'au poste de réception (5) (figure 3c).This being done, from a control console placed in front of the machine, the operator controls the start-up of the installation, the conveyor belt (11) conveying the fabric (E) to the reception station (5) ( Figure 3c).
The operator (FIG. 3d) then engages the end (13) of the fabric around a cardboard-type support (14), previously placed on the receiving mat (8), and whose maintenance is ensured by means of the roller ( 10). The material guided by the roller (20) being automatically engaged on the belt (8), the operator has only to advance the fabric on the cardboard tube, which significantly simplifies this operation which is very laborious on a machine conventional.
When a determined length of material has been rewound (Figure 3g), the fabric (E) is cut transversely by a knife (15). After cutting, the feed (2) and visit (4) zones are disengaged, and the winding continues (Figure 3h), this final rotation can be used by the operator to apply adhesive tapes (16) ( Figure 3h) to stop the last turn. The roll formed is then brought from the winding station (5) by a weighing system (17) (Figure 3i) provided at the front of the machine. During weighing (Figure 3j), the inspection (4) and supply (2) assembly is driven in the opposite direction so as to rewind the fabric on the supply spool (3). After weighing (Figure 3k), the roller (6) is brought to the packing station (Figure 31) where a film (18) is engaged on the material roll. The material roll is driven (Figure 3m) so that the film (18) completely surrounds it. The roll being wrapped, the film is cut (Figure 3n) and the assembly is removed.
