Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a sanitary appliance for the forced evacuation of wastewater by means of a pumping and grinding device, more particularly intended to be installed in lavatories.
  • a sanitary appliance comprising a bowl connected, at its lower part, to a siphon and having, at its upper part, a pipe for supplying rinsing water.
  • a device for pumping and grinding the waste water is connected, on the one hand to the bowl and, on the other hand to the inlet of a waste water discharge pipe.
  • This device comprises a motor integral with a pump body in which are housed blades mounted on the motor drive shaft.
  • the motor-pump assembly is suspended elastically at the rear of the bowl, and the pump is arranged horizontally below the motor.
  • the purpose of suspending said assembly is to eliminate vibrations and noises from the engine during the operation of the sanitary appliance.
  • the pump body after actuation of the appliance, can be partially emptied of its liquid, which would cause defusing of the pump since the blades are located in the upper part of the pump body. And, at the same time, it would cause the emptying of the bowl which, being deprived of its water guard, would cause rising odors.
  • the object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks.
  • the sanitary appliance for the forced evacuation of waste water of the type comprising a bowl having, at its lower part, a siphon and, at its upper part, a pipe for supplying rinsing water, and a device for pumping and grinding the waste water, connected, on the one hand to the outlet of the siphon and, on the other hand to the inlet of a pipe for discharging the waste water, said device comprising an integral motor a pump body, in which is housed a rotor mounted on the drive shaft of said motor, is remarkable, according to the invention, in that said pumping and grinding device is arranged below the outlet of said siphon, on the side of the discharge of waste water, said pump body being disposed above said motor 'training.
  • the arrangement of the pumping and grinding device below the outlet of the siphon, and of the pump body above the drive motor ensures an ideal position for the rotor which is, therefore, constantly submerged because it is at the "bottom" of the pump body.
  • the air possibly sucked in with the wastewater always remains at a level higher than that of the rotor and therefore does not affect the operation of the pump.
  • the appearance of any cavitation phenomenon and / or the risk of defusing the pump are avoided.
  • said siphon is an integral part of said bowl and a flexible bent connector connects, with sealing, the outlet of said siphon to the inlet of said pump body. This ensures the elastic attachment of the grinding device to the bowl.
  • the outlet of the siphon extends horizontally at the rear of said bowl and the motor-pump assembly is arranged vertically below said outlet.
  • said rotor comprises a plurality of blades for grinding the organic and fibrous materials contained in the wastewater.
  • said pump body has a lateral outlet horizontal and said waste water evacuation pipe, connected to said outlet, rises vertically.
  • the bottom of the motor advantageously cooperates with the base of the base of the bowl by a tongue-groove connection.
  • said groove can be made in the bottom of said motor while the tongue then projects from said base of said base.
  • between the groove and the tongue can be arranged a strip of elastic material.
  • the device is of the type comprising, at the upper part of said bowl, a chamber for dispensing rinse water.
  • a wall of said distribution chamber has an opening for the connection of the rinsing water pipe, the geometry of which is such that, once the pipe is in place, at least one passage for air remains between said duct and the edge of said opening.
  • said opening is defined by a central mounting hole of said conduit and two crescent-shaped air passages, disposed respectively on either side of said central hole.
  • said opening is defined by a central hole for mounting said duct and an air passage connected to said central hole and opening into the ceiling of said distribution chamber.
  • the device comprises a contactless control device for its operating cycle.
  • said contactless control device comprises at least one photoelectric cell which opens onto a side wall of the upper part of said device.
  • Figure 1 is a longitudinal section of an embodiment of the sanitary appliance according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is an enlarged view, along arrow F of Figure 1, of the rear wall of the rinsing water distribution chamber of said device.
  • FIG. 3 is a partial section along line III-III of FIG. 2.
  • Figure 4 is a view, similar to Figure 2, of an alternative embodiment of said rear wall.
  • FIG. 5 is a top view of the wall shown in FIG. 4.
  • FIG. 6 schematically illustrates a sanitary appliance of the invention with a contactless control device for the operating cycle thereof.
  • Figure 7 is an enlarged view of said control device associated with the device.
  • the sanitary appliance 1 for the forced evacuation of wastewater comprises a bowl 2 having, at its lower part, a siphon 3.
  • the siphon 3 can be an integral part of the bowl 2 and be made, like the latter, ceramic, stoneware or the like.
  • This siphon 3 has, at the rear of the bowl 2, a horizontal outlet 4 below which is arranged, according to the invention, a device for pumping and grinding 5 of the wastewater.
  • This device 5 comprises a motor 6 integral with a pump body 7, in the lower part of which is housed a rotor 8, provided with blades 9 and mounted on the drive shaft 10 of the motor 6.
  • the body pump 7 is arranged above the drive motor 6 and, advantageously, the motor-pump assembly is arranged vertically below the horizontal outlet 4 of the siphon 3.
  • an elbow fitting 11 connects, with sealing , the outlet 4 of the siphon 3 at the inlet 12 of said pump body 7.
  • a horizontal lateral outlet 13 is provided in the pump body 7, outlet to which is connected one end of a discharge pipe 14 for waste water .
  • This discharge duct 14 is bent and rises vertically to be put in communication, by its other end, with the pipe 15 of the network.
  • the arrangement of the device 5 below the outlet 4 of the siphon 3, and of the pump body 7 above the drive motor 6 ensures a ideal position for rotor 8 which is constantly submerged.
  • a groove 17 which cooperates with a tongue 18 projecting from the base 19 of the base 20 of the bowl 2, so as to wedge the pumping and grinding device 5.
  • This tongue can be the bar connecting the two walls of the base.
  • a strip of elastic material 21 is provided between the groove 17 and the tongue 18.
  • the bowl 2 has at its upper part a chamber 22 for dispensing rinse water, the rear wall 23 of which is traversed by a conduit 24 for supplying this rinse water.
  • This chamber 22 feeds an annular chamber 25 which opens out through orifices 26 inside the bowl 2.
  • the rear wall 23 is provided with an opening 27 for the connection of the conduit 24 by means of a flexible ring 28.
  • the geometry of the opening 27 is such that, a once the duct 24 has been put in place thanks to the ring 28, at least one air passage 29 remains between the duct 24 and the edge 30 of the opening 27. More particularly, in FIG. 2, two air passages 29 opposites, each in crescent-shaped, are provided on either side of a central hole 36 for the conduit 24.
  • a single air passage 29 is provided, which opens into the ceiling 35 of the distribution chamber 22, and is connected to a central hole 36.
  • Said passages 29, on the one hand facilitate the introduction of the ring 28 and thus the establishment of the conduit 24 and, on the other hand, constitute, after the fixation of the conduit, air intakes, which participate in avoid any phenomenon of siphoning of waste water in the water supply in the event of obstruction or overflow of the bowl.
  • the sanitary appliance 1 comprises a contactless control device 31 for its operating cycle, for example provided with a photoelectric cell 32 which opens onto a side wall 33 of the rear upper part of the device.
  • This photoelectric cell 32 detects the presence of the user's hand 34, or of any other object crossing its field of action, at a certain distance from the sanitary appliance 1.
