Definitions
- the invention relates to an openable folding sliding wall with a number of optionally glass panes, which are hinged at their vertically extending joints apart from the joint delimiting the free end of a door by hinges, and at least every second joint by hinges connected frame guided by articulated carriages and pins or guide rollers mounted on pins in floor rails and supported on them and guided in ceiling rails, and in which in the areas of the other joints at least one of the frames with slots or grooves formed in between profile legs of the rails is equipped with locking pin that can be inserted by vertical lifting or lowering movement.
- folding sliding walls are widely used if, on the one hand, rooms are to be sealed in a weatherproof and thermally insulated manner, without denying the light, and on the other hand can be opened by easy adjustment so that the walls practically disappear and the previously fully delimited room is now closed the opening that can be closed by the folding sliding wall is connected to the surroundings.
- folding sliding walls have so far only been available for installation in rectangular soffits. In the case of attic rooms in particular, it is therefore necessary to either make the opening closed by the folding sliding wall only relatively short or to provide it with a very limited height.
- the invention is based on the object of developing the known folding sliding walls in such a way that they can also be used to cover trapezoidal openings, such as can be formed over a large area, for example, in the gable walls of mansard rooms.
- this means showing a construction for folding sliding walls, in which the ceiling and floor rails are not arranged parallel to one another, but rather are inclined at a predetermined angle to one another.
- the guide carriages engaging in the ceiling rail run along the rising ceiling rail, and as the guide carriage rises, the telescopic rod connected to it also becomes within the bore of one with the hinges connected profile bar raised.
- the length of the telescopic rod and the vertical profile rod or of its bore are dimensioned here so that even after the folding sliding wall has been completely pushed together, the telescopic rod engages in the bore with such a length that lateral tilting is excluded and, if necessary, acting on it Horizontal forces are absorbed.
- the height of the carriage is determined solely by its position within the sloping ceiling rail.
- the guide carriage must either run on profile areas of the ceiling rail that can at least absorb its weight and support it vertically; it is also possible, however, to use guide rollers instead of vertically standing on profile parts, which encompass profile areas with superimposed wheel flanges, whereby separate guide rollers are expediently used on both sides for easy displacement.
- guide rollers that run around in a horizontal plane and are equipped with two superimposed wheel flanges use that encompass profile parts on both sides.
- increased running resistance must be accepted under certain conditions.
- the reveal 2 is arranged with a horizontal bottom rail 6 and an incline corresponding to the top of the reveal 2 Ceiling rail 7 equipped.
- the elements here each consist of two mutually opposite vertical profiles 8 and horizontal profiles 9 connecting them, and sheet metal, wood or plastic sheets, but preferably glass panes 10, are inserted into the resulting frames.
- the elements are connected to one another by hinges 11, and the element 3 is also connected to the reveal or a profile inserted therein by means of hinges.
- FIG. 2 After opening the folding sliding wall or pushing it together, the image shown in FIG. 2 results.
- the carriage 20 has run horizontally to the left with the connection point supported by it.
- the guide carriage 24 arranged above this has not only run to the left, but has also been raised in relation to the connection point in accordance with the slope of the ceiling rail 7.
- the guide carriage 24 is equipped with a telescopic rod 23 which is able to slide in a vertical bore in the profiled rod 14.
- FIG. 3 A side view of the folding sliding wall of FIGS. 1 and 2 is shown in FIG. 3. It can be seen here that the hinges 11 connecting the elements 4 and 5 are each gripped over and under by one of the arms 15 to 18 and the arms project laterally from a vertical profile bar 14 connecting them. The lower end of this profile bar 14 is supported on the carriage 20 guided in the bottom rail 6, which thus also transfers the proportionate weight of the folding sliding wall to the bottom rail 6.
- the guide carriage 24 running in the ceiling rail is also raised from its initial position close to the arm 15 by the rising profile, and the telescopic rod 23 connected to it is partially pulled out of a vertical bore in the profile rod 14 receiving it. The rest of the hole remains so long, even in the extreme position of the folding sliding door, that a clear lateral guidance is achieved.
- a support cheek 20 is supported by support rollers 21 and is additionally equipped with guide rollers 13.
- the profile bar 14, which is equipped with a vertical bore, is supported on the carriage 20. It is expediently designed as an extruded profile, and the vertical bore that runs through it does not have to be laboriously drilled, but has already been taken into account in the manufacture of the profile.
- the carriage 20 can Establish the connection with a vertical pin, not shown in the figure, which engages in this bore.
- the arms 15 to 18 of the profile bar 14 encompass the hinges 11, of which here in particular the hinge plates 12 are shown, which are connected to the vertical profile 8 of the element 5.
- the bolt 19 penetrates not only the hinge plates which are expediently equipped with bushings, but also also the holes 15 to 18 which pass through the axes with the same axis.
- a telescopic rod 23 is inserted from above into the bore of the profile rod 14, which is thus encompassed both rotatably and longitudinally displaceably, and which is connected at its upper end to a guide carriage 24.
- two support rollers 26 are used, which are provided with superimposed wheel flanges in such a way that these wheel flanges grip profile areas of the ceiling rail 7 vertically, so that not only a guide secured against lateral deflections is achieved, but also the guide carriage in the vertical direction through the Profile areas of the ceiling rail is worn or supported. This makes it possible, when folding and pushing back the folding sliding wall with rising ceiling rail, to also let the guide carriage 24, which essentially guides the side, rise with the ceiling rail.
- the carriage Due to the telescopic rod 23 sliding in the vertical bore of the profile bar 14, the carriage is here decoupled in the vertical direction on the one hand and can be pulled out as desired in accordance with the incline of the ceiling rail. At the same time, however, it is rotatable and extendable in the vertical direction, but is fixed in the horizontal direction by the profile bar 14 added, so that despite the vertical lifting when pushing together the folding sliding wall, the desired or required side guide is secured.
- Carriage 20 and guide carriage 24 can be designed differently.
- the support rollers 21 there is no need for wheel flanges as long as guide rollers 13 or corresponding guide pins secure guidance within the floor rail. It is also possible, when using two rollers, to equip them with wheel flanges on one side only.
- the weight-bearing support rollers can be provided corresponding to the support rollers 25 of FIGS. 1 and 2, which can optionally be supplemented by a guide pin or guide rollers.
- guide rollers according to FIG. 4 in which the vertical guidance within the rail is effected by wheel flanges, while the horizontal guidance is achieved by applying one of the leading profiles to the middle part.
- rollers are expediently used, and in order to keep the elements easily displaceable, especially the heavily loaded supporting rollers 21 will be equipped with roller bearings.
- folding sliding walls as a result of the vertically displaceable telescopic rod where soffits, for example in attic rooms, are designed trapezoidal and the ceiling rail is arranged at an incline.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an openable folding sliding wall with a number of optionally glass panes, which are hinged at their vertically extending joints apart from the joint delimiting the free end of a door by hinges, and at least every second joint by hinges connected frame guided by articulated carriages and pins or guide rollers mounted on pins in floor rails and supported on them and guided in ceiling rails, and in which in the areas of the other joints at least one of the frames with slots or grooves formed in between profile legs of the rails is equipped with locking pin that can be inserted by vertical lifting or lowering movement.
Such folding sliding walls are widely used if, on the one hand, rooms are to be sealed in a weatherproof and thermally insulated manner, without denying the light, and on the other hand can be opened by easy adjustment so that the walls practically disappear and the previously fully delimited room is now closed the opening that can be closed by the folding sliding wall is connected to the surroundings. In addition, it is also possible to close such a folding sliding wall only slightly open, so that the weather protection is largely preserved, but narrow in the head and foot areas of the elements forming the folding sliding wall, creating a ventilation gap.
Such folding sliding walls have so far only been available for installation in rectangular soffits. In the case of attic rooms in particular, it is therefore necessary to either make the opening closed by the folding sliding wall only relatively short or to provide it with a very limited height.
The invention is based on the object of developing the known folding sliding walls in such a way that they can also be used to cover trapezoidal openings, such as can be formed over a large area, for example, in the gable walls of mansard rooms. Ultimately, this means showing a construction for folding sliding walls, in which the ceiling and floor rails are not arranged parallel to one another, but rather are inclined at a predetermined angle to one another.
This object is achieved with the features of the patent claim. It is assumed here that it is fundamentally no difficulty to construct the folding sliding wall from elements whose upper profiles are inclined according to the contours of the inclination in order to complete a reveal with an inclined upper contour. However, it turns out that the usual guides, which are brought about in connection with the ceiling rail, are not to be used. The features of the patent claim provide a remedy here. As usual, the elements are supported by carriages on the floor rail. However, a guide carriage is used in the ceiling rail, which is not fixed with the elements whose hinges or the like is connected, but rather carries a telescopic rod that is able to slide vertically in a bore of a vertical profile rod. If a folding sliding wall is now pushed together to the side of the reveal that has the higher flank, the guide carriages engaging in the ceiling rail run along the rising ceiling rail, and as the guide carriage rises, the telescopic rod connected to it also becomes within the bore of one with the hinges connected profile bar raised. The length of the telescopic rod and the vertical profile rod or of its bore are dimensioned here so that even after the folding sliding wall has been completely pushed together, the telescopic rod engages in the bore with such a length that lateral tilting is excluded and, if necessary, acting on it Horizontal forces are absorbed. The height of the carriage is determined solely by its position within the sloping ceiling rail. It is therefore not sufficient to have simple, cylindrical, vertically directed rollers that engage between the profile legs of the ceiling rail: The guide carriage must either run on profile areas of the ceiling rail that can at least absorb its weight and support it vertically; it is also possible, however, to use guide rollers instead of vertically standing on profile parts, which encompass profile areas with superimposed wheel flanges, whereby separate guide rollers are expediently used on both sides for easy displacement. In the interest of a simpler construction, it is possible to use guide rollers that run around in a horizontal plane and are equipped with two superimposed wheel flanges use that encompass profile parts on both sides. However, increased running resistance must be accepted under certain conditions.
Advantageous and expedient developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.

After opening the folding sliding wall or pushing it together, the image shown in FIG. 2 results. A side view of the folding sliding wall of FIGS. 1 and 2 is shown in FIG. 3. It can be seen here that the
To illustrate the situation here, a joint point corresponding to that of
In the
In the figure it is clearly shown how the
In order to achieve low noise, plastic, in particular polyamide, rollers are expediently used, and in order to keep the elements easily displaceable, especially the heavily loaded supporting
