Description

The invention relates to a device for tightening and closing a ski boot made of plastic; it also relates to rear entry ski boots so equipped.

  • . une coque rigide, destinée à recevoir un chausson qui reçoit à son tour un pied du skieur, et qui comporte une semelle et un talon ;
  • . un collier, destiné à enserrer le bas de la jambe, constitué éventuellement de deux manchettes articulées en flexion par rapport à la coque, le plus généralement sur la coque elle-même, reliées entre elles par des crochets, boucles ou analogues ;
As is known, a ski boot essentially comprises:
  • . a rigid shell, intended to receive a liner which in turn receives a foot from the skier, and which comprises a sole and a heel;
  • . a collar, intended to grip the bottom of the leg, possibly consisting of two cuffs articulated in flexion relative to the shell, most generally on the shell itself, connected together by hooks, loops or the like;
  • . finally, means for clamping and holding the foot in the shell and for clamping the collar on the leg, such as hooks, racks, loops, knurls, cables or the like.

D'autre part, l'utilisation est également rendue difficile par la complexité du mode d'emploi (plusieurs leviers, boutons..).Although widely distributed, these ski boots have the disadvantage of not always being easy to use, in particular by children or women, more particularly in the cold, due to the difficult grip of the tightening means. On the other hand, use is also made difficult by the complexity of the manual (several levers, buttons, etc.).

We have recently known a shoe with rear entry of the type in question having good lateral rigidity and which comprises a rigid lateral reinforcement rider in the shape of a U, the two branches of which are arranged on each lateral face of the shell and are in position locked, oriented in a general direction substantially parallel to that of the tibia, the top of the lateral branches being connected by a connecting portion in the form of a gutter, in order to marry part of the lower leg. In an advantageous embodiment, the free lower end of the two lateral branches of the rider is articulated on the bottom of the rear collar.

The invention relates to a device for closing and tightening this type of ski boot with a rider acting as a loop, which is easy to actuate, reliable, and makes it possible to ensure progressive tightening in a single movement through of a simplified cable circuit.

  • . une coque, destinée à recevoir un chausson qui reçoit à son tour un pied du skieur et qui comporte une semelle et un talon, et qui présente au niveau de ce talon une rampe d'appui ;
  • . un collier destiné à enserrer le bas de la jambe, articulé par rapport à la coque et susceptible de basculer vers l'arrière ;
This device for closing and tightening a ski boot comprises:
  • . a shell, intended to receive a liner which in turn receives a foot from the skier and which comprises a sole and a heel, and which has at this heel a support ramp;
  • . a collar intended to enclose the lower leg, articulated relative to the shell and capable of tilting backwards;
  • . a rider articulated with respect to the collar, in the form of a gutter, acting as a loop, disposed in the position of use in a general direction substantially parallel to that of the tibia, conforming to the rear of the collar and surrounding the rear of the bottom of the leg and upper heel.

Cette chaussure de ski se caractérise :

  • en ce que le collier, articulé dans la semelle de la coque à hauteur de la voute plantaire, comprend à l'arrière un levier articulé dans lequel est ménagé une lumière ou vient se loger et coulisser l'extrémité d'un bras rigide fixé à son extrémité sur l'arrière de la coque ;
  • en ce que le cavalier articulé sur le collier, comprend à son extrémité inférieure un doigt qui prend appui sur la rampe ménagée dans la coque, et présente lui-même une autre rampe ménagée à l'intérieur de la portion de raccordement en forme de gouttière ;
This ski boot is characterized :
  • in that the collar, articulated in the sole of the shell at the height of the arch of the foot, comprises at the rear an articulated lever in which a light is provided or is housed and slides the end of a rigid arm fixed to its end on the back of the hull;
  • in that the rider articulated on the collar, comprises at its lower end a finger which bears on the ramp formed in the shell, and itself has another ramp formed inside the connection portion in the form of a gutter ;
  • and finally, in that the assembly comprises a flexible cable connecting the front of the shoe to the free end of the lever passing, in the collar, over angle references.

In this way, during the closing operation, by action on the rider, the collar rocks to be put in place by the action of the sliding finger on the ramp. Thanks to the rigid arm connecting the shell and lever, the characteristic lever swings around its axis downwards, thus keeping the cable taut, this ensures the closing operation. Continuing the movement, the lever then comes to bear on the ramp provided for this purpose inside the connecting portion of the arms of the rider to be thus completely tilted down and forward of the hull, which then ensures the tightening of the bottom of the collar on the bottom of the leg.

Avantageusement, en pratique :

  • la rampe ménagée dans le cavalier est, lorsque ce cavalier est en position haute, dite position d'utilisation, inclinée vers le bas et vers l'avant de la chaussure et se termine par un crochet où vient se loger, en position verrouillée, l'extrémité libre du levier pour assurer l'auto-verrouillage de l'ensemble et le maintien du cavalier ;
  • en position verrouillée, le câble passe devant l'axe d'articulation du levier sur le collier ;
  • le collier réalisé en deux parties distinctes, respectivement une manchette arrière articulée, comme déjà dit, dans la semelle à hauteur de la voute plantaire, et une manchette avant, articulée alors sur cette manchette arrière, en avant des malléoles ;
Advantageously, in practice:
  • the ramp formed in the rider is, when this rider is in the high position, called the position of use, inclined downward and towards the front of the shoe and ends with a hook where is housed, in the locked position, the free end of the lever for ensuring the self-locking of the assembly and the maintenance of the jumper;
  • in the locked position, the cable passes in front of the hinge pin of the lever on the collar;
  • the collar produced in two distinct parts, respectively an articulated rear cuff, as already said, in the sole at the height of the arch of the foot, and a front cuff, articulated then on this rear cuff, in front of the malleoli;
  • the articulated rear cuff comprises two separate portions, respectively an upper portion forming a proper collar and enclosing the lower leg, connected to a lower portion, forming a stirrup and enclosing the rear of the heel, and which according to a characteristic of the invention is articulated in the sole.

The manner in which the invention can be implemented and the advantages which ensue therefrom will emerge more clearly from the embodiment which follows, with the support of the appended figures.

Figure 1 is a summary sectional view of an open ski boot with rear entry according to the invention.

Figure 2 is a summary exploded representation of the essential parts of the shoe, excluding the specific closure assembly.

Figure 3 is a summary representation of this characteristic closure device.

Les figures 4,5 et 6 montrent la chaussure selon l'invention en position intermédiaire, respectivement basse (figure 4), haute (figure 5), fermée (figure 6).Figures 4,5 and 6 show the shoe according to the invention in the intermediate position, respectively low (Figure 4), high (Figure 5), closed (Figure 6).

The ski boot according to the invention essentially comprises (see FIG. 2):
  • first of all, a rigid plastic shell designated by the general reference (1) having in order a point (2), a instep (3), a notch (4), a rear face (5) starting at height (6) of the calcaneus and a sole (7) having at heel height, more precisely in the portion (8) between the arch of the foot and the heel, a ramp (10) formed first of a first portion (11) progressively increasing, connected to a rounded peak (12) forming a high point, then to a second portion (13) whose slope is less than the first portion (11). This characteristic ramp (10) is in one piece and is obtained during the molding of the shell (1) or of the wearing part protecting the shell.

In known manner, the shoe according to the invention comprises an articulated collar which can pivot towards the rear produced in two parts, respectively a front cuff (15) the bottom of the front face (16) of which is disposed above the neck of foot (3). This front cuff (15) cooperates in a known manner with a rear cuff (20) which, according to a characteristic of the invention, has on either side of the hull (1) an extension designated by the general reference (21) . According to another characteristic of the invention, the rear cuff (20) is articulated on either side of the level of its extension (21), and more precisely around an axis (22) disposed in the sole (7) of the hull up to the arch of the foot.

According to a third characteristic of the invention, the front cuff (15) is articulated at (23) on the extension (21) of the rear cuff (20), this axis (23) being disposed in front of the malleoli.

The shoe also includes a jumper designated by the general reference (30), articulated on the extension (21) of the rear cuff (20) around an axis (31) disposed behind the malleoli. According to a characteristic of the invention, the lower end (32) of each branch (33) of the rider, has on either side of the shell a finger (34) intended to bear on the characteristic ramp (10) . In addition, the interior of the rear U-shaped connection portion (35) of the rider (30) has a second ramp (36) inclined (37) downward and in front of the shoe, and is ending with a hook (38).

According to another essential characteristic of the invention (see FIG. 3), the rear cuff (20) has at the rear and in its middle (25) an axis (26) on which a lever designated by the reference is articulated general (40), in which is provided a light (41) in which is housed and slides the end (42) of a rigid arm (43), for example of steel, articulated at its other end (44) around 'an axis (45) disposed on the shell (1) at the level of the calcaneus (6).

A cable (50) commonly used for these applications is fixed by its ends at (51) and (51bis) on the front cuff (15), and passes at (52) at the free end of the lever (40) at passing over bevel gear (53) provided for this purpose in the rear cuff (20).

The shoe also comprises, in a known manner, bodies for holding the foot and the heel in the shell, not shown.

When the shoe is in the open position (Figure 1), the rider (30) is tilted down around the axis (31), the finger (34) is in the advanced position as far as possible towards the tip (2) on the ramp (10); the collar is in the tilted back position.

In doing so, the rider pivots on its axis (31) and the finger (34) rises on the first ramp portion (11) by leverage. This has the effect of pivoting the rear cuff (20) around the axis (22) due to the movement of the axis (31) upwards. During this movement, the rigid arm (43) of constant length exerts a force on the lever (40), which causes it to tilt down around its axis (26); which has the effect of keeping the cable (50) taut (see FIG. 4). When the collar (10) arrives in the high position, that is to say when the finger (34) arrives on the peak (12) of the ramp (10) the end (52) of the lever (40) by which pass the flexible cable (50), touch the connection portion (35), (see Figure 5).

It is important that the angle β (see FIG. 5) formed between the axis of the lever (40) and this connection portion (35) is less than 90 °, in order to exceed the point of equilibrium and be able to continue its movement.

Continuing the movement on the jumper (see Figure 6), the free end (54) of the lever (40) through which the cable (50) passes, slides along the ramp (36,37) until it comes place in the hook (38). It is important that in this position the cable (50) comes below the hinge pin (26) of the lever on the rear of the rear cuff (20), to ensure the irreversibility of this position.

When the end (46) of the lever (40) is in the characteristic hook (38), the jumper is self-locked and is held in this position.

If in the preferred embodiment described, the collar is produced in two parts, it goes without saying that without departing from the scope of the invention, this collar can also be produced in a single part articulated towards the rear. In this case, the cable (50) surrounds the bottom of the leg over the flaps of the collar.

The shoe is therefore perfectly closed and tightened on the bottom of the skier's leg.

This simple to manufacture arrangement is characterized by a larger opening, a simplified cable circuit (50) and above all, it allows, by a single movement, good closing and perfect tightening.
