Definitions

  • the invention relates to a pack for lumpy packaged goods with a casing, which is formed from a flat, foldable and multilayer packaging material, of which two strip-shaped edge zones for forming the casing in a connection area are connected to one another by a seal, preferably a cold seal, a strip-shaped one Tear-open area of the packaging envelope starts from one of the two strip-shaped edge zones and extends essentially perpendicular to this edge zone.
  • a pack of this type is known from the applicant's published PCT application WO 80/02827 (application no. PCT / AT 80/00017).
  • this known package which is advantageously produced from a two-layer packaging material and / or is designed as a tubular bag package, the lateral edges of the tear are formed by lines of weakness in the packaging material, along which the material tears when the package is opened.
  • the beginning of the strip-shaped tear-open aid lies in a doubling area of the packaging material, i.e. in a tubular bag pack e.g. at one of their fin-shaped sealing points.
  • DE-U-8 425 417 shows a package made of multilayer film with incisions in the edge zones.
  • the paper layer is on the outside of the package; a strip-shaped tear area is not achieved.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a pack of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the packaging material used to produce the pack has no or only a very small number of lines of weakness and which can nevertheless be easily opened by pulling off a strip-shaped tear-open area.
  • the packaging material is composed of several layers, selected from the series paper, unstretched polyolefin film or layer, aluminum film, film made of biaxially oriented polypropylene, film made of biaxial stretched polyamide, film made of biaxially stretched polyethylene terephthalate and subcomplex of two or three layers of optionally the above materials, whereby of all neighboring different layers in the packaging material the one mentioned earlier in the series and for adjacent layers of the same or similar material the thinner of the packaged goods is closer, and one of the sub-complexes is considered to have bondings between the layers which are considerably stronger than the bondings of the sub-complex and the other layers of the packaging material to one another, that the packaging material ial along the two lateral boundaries of the tear-open area, only indentations or line-shaped punchings and possibly weakening lines within the strip-shaped edge zone, but without any weakening lines or material weakenings outside this edge
  • the bond strengths between the individual layers of the sub-complex peel strength values which are at least 50%, but preferably at least 70% higher than the bond strength values of the bond strengths of the sub-complex and the other layers of the packaging material with one another.
  • the packaging material starts from the ends of the indentations or line-shaped punchings even without the presence of weakening lines along more or less parallel lines, i.e. tears along the imaginary side edges of the tear area.
  • the notches or line-shaped punchings extend at least as far as or into the connection area.
  • the pack according to the invention is characterized in that the beginning of the tear-open area between the connection area and the free edge of one of the packaging material edge zones forms the grip tab.
  • the pack according to the invention is characterized in that at the edge zone from which the tear-open area starts, the free packaging material edge is turned over at least within the tear-open area to form a fold.
  • This pack is characterized in that the indentations or punchings start from the free edge of the packaging material or from the edge of the fold at the edge of the packaging material.
  • the package according to the invention is characterized in that the sealing layer of the connection area has a recess at at least one of the two interconnected packaging material edge zones at the location of the tear-open area for the purpose of forming or widening the grip tab.
  • edge zone from which the tear-open area does not start has a cutout starting from the free edge of this edge zone at the location of the grip tab.
  • the package according to the invention is characterized in that within the tear-open area the sealing connection has a lower peel strength than in its other areas.
  • the grip tab is formed by the beginning of the strip-shaped tear-open area.
  • the seal of the two interconnected edge zones in the tear-open area is peeled off.
  • the package according to the invention is characterized in that on both packaging material edge zones connected to one another by the strip-shaped connecting region from the packaging material edges or notches or line-shaped punchings starting from the edge of the fold on the packaging material edge are provided, as a result of which material from both edge zones forms the grip tab.
  • the locations of the two indentations or punchings are advantageously connected to one another in the edge zone from which the tear-open area does not originate, by means of a linear weakening of the material in the packaging material, this linear weakening of material preferably lying within the connection area of the two strip-like edge zones.
  • the pack according to the invention is characterized in that it is a tubular bag pack in which the two packaging material edge zones are connected to one another on their inner sides and thereby form the tubular bag longitudinal sealing seam, which is folded over onto the surface of the packaging sleeve, the tear-open area from the edge zone lying outwards at the folded longitudinal sealing seam.
  • This packaging material consists of the outside of the pack - made of a 0.007 to 0.009 mm thick, printed aluminum foil, a paper with a grammage of 30 to 100 g / m2 and a latex-based cold adhesive coating applied in the profile (2 to 7 g / m2 solid).
  • the paper forms the mechanical carrier layer of the composite material and the aluminum foil the layer that the Ensures gas tightness of the composite.
  • FIG. 1 now schematically shows a perspective view of a tubular bag pack for waffles produced in this way.
  • the stamped incisions 4, which extend from the edge 5 of the edge zone 2 and extend into the connection area 1, can be seen on the edge zone 2 of the packaging material, which is located outward. Between these two incisions 4, the material of the edge zone 2 forms a grip tab 6, which extends from the edge 5 to the connection area 1 and is large enough to be able to be handled to open the package.
  • the packaging envelope now has a strip-like shape Tear-open area 7, the lateral boundaries of which are imaginary lines 8 on the packaging envelope, which form continuations of the incisions 4.
  • Fig. 2 shows the pack in an analogous representation as in Fig. 1, but now in the half-opened state.
  • the two zones 10 of the separated cold sealing can now be seen.
  • the opening in the packaging envelope is enlarged to such an extent that the packaged goods can be removed without the structure of the packaging envelope being destroyed by the opening of the package.
  • the two-layer packaging material used according to this example which - starting from the outside of the pack - essentially consists of an aluminum foil and a paper layer (the thin adhesive layers are not considered a special layer here) approximately along the imaginary parallel lines 8, which form the imaginary lateral edges of the tear area, tears.
  • this is not the case if you use packaging material in which the paper layer on the outside of the pack and the aluminum foil on the inside of the pack are used: when the otherwise identical pack is opened, the packing material tears from the incisions 4 along two lines, that meet at a more or less acute angle; this creates an inadequate opening in the packaging envelope.
  • a sub-complex is considered to be one with bond layers between the layers that are significantly stronger than the bond between the sub-complex and the other layers of the packaging material.
  • the first three materials are bonded with a peel strength of 5.3 N / 15 mm and form a sub-complex, which in turn is bonded to the innermost OPP film with a peel strength of 2.6 N / 15 mm.
  • the peel strength values mentioned in each case mean the mean tear strength in N / 15 mm, carried out according to a measuring method as described in the "Packaging Review" 9/1978 (pages 72 and 73).
  • FIG. 3 shows a variant of the package according to FIG. 1 in a partial representation in a top view, the package cover being shown broken away at the location of the tear-open area 7.
  • the sealing layer 11 of the connecting area 1 has a cutout 12 through which the sealing layer 11 narrows here and thereby the peeling of the tear-open area 7 during the opening process is facilitated. This measure also widens the grip tab.
  • FIG. 4 shows, in a representation similar to that in FIG. 3, another packaging variant in which the sealing connection has a weakened zone 13 at the location of the tear-open area 7, as a result of which the tear-open area is peeled off during the opening process is facilitated.
  • This weakened zone 13 can preferably be realized in that the cold adhesive coating has at least one of the two edge zones 2 or 3, for example arranged according to a regular grid, adhesive-free points, whereby the peel strength of the sealing connection is reduced.
  • FIG. 5 A further packaging variant is shown in FIG. 5, likewise in a representation analogous to that in FIG. 3.
  • a cutout 14 extending from its edge 5 'is provided in the lower edge zone 3 below it. These cutouts 14 are preferably punched out on the packaging machine at the same time as the cuts 4 are made from the edge of the incoming packaging material web.
  • notches 4 can also be provided in the packaging material instead of the incisions 4 starting from the packaging material edge 5. Because of the punching waste that occurs, the creation of such notches is usually more complex than in the case of pure punchings, but the handling of the grip tab is generally made easier by the notches.
  • FIG. 6 shows, for a variant of the pack according to FIG. 1, the two packaging material edges in a partial representation in section along one of the two incisions.
  • the upper edge zone 15, from which the tear-open area starts, is longer than the underlying edge zone 16 and has a fold 17 fixed at its free packaging material edge by a cold seal.
  • the incisions 18 extend over the entire fold 17 and on the upper edge zone 15 into the connection area 19.
  • the fold 17 now forms a particularly easy-to-use grip tab in the area between the two incisions 18.
  • the fold 17 is continuously folded over and fixed by sealing immediately in front of the packaging machine at one of the edges of the packaging material web pulled off the roll, after which the two incisions 18 are made.
  • the further production of the pack is then carried out analogously to that described in connection with FIG. 1.
  • Fig. 7 shows in section or in a perspective partial representation of a wrapping package, as it is mainly used for baked goods such as waffles.
  • This pack has a packing envelope made of flat, foldable packaging material, on which two edge zones 20 and 21 overlap and are connected to one another in a connection area 22 by an adhesive layer 23.
  • two incisions 24 are provided, which extend from the packaging material edge 25 into the connection area 22, a grip tab 26 being formed between the two incisions 24.
  • the package is opened - analogously to that described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2 - by pulling off the grip tab 26 in the direction of arrow 27.
  • FIGS. 8 to 10 A last advantageous variant of the pack according to the invention in the form of a tubular bag pack will now be described with reference to FIGS. 8 to 10.
  • the two incisions 28 are made on the two edge zones 29 and 30 connected to one another.
  • FIG. 8 shows the pack in a partial representation in the top view
  • FIG. 9 shows a representation analogous to this, however, the pack envelope is shown broken away at the location of the tear-open area.
  • the lower edge zone 30 has a weakening line 32 which runs between the locations of the two incisions within the sealing layer 31 and runs parallel to this, for example by means of several short, material bridges Punchings that are separate from one another can be realized in the packaging material.
  • the incisions 28 and the weakening line 32 are punched into the packaging material web immediately before it is fed to the packaging machine.
  • the essentially gas-tight and easy-to-open package according to the invention can be used advantageously for packaging chocolate, waffles or the like, preferably in the form of a tubular bag package.
