Definitions

  • the invention relates to a lock for a wheelchair-compatible door, with a first lock part with a first handle, a first link that can be actuated by this handle against the force of a first spring and a latch bolt coupled with this link, and a second lock part with a second handle, one by this pusher against the force of a second spring actuatable second link, and a connecting link to the latch bolt in the first lock part.
  • CH-A-593 411 describes a door in which the door leaf has an extremely small swiveling area.
  • the door can therefore be opened and closed without stepping forward or backward. Even a person in a wheelchair can open and close the door without having to maneuver with the wheelchair.
  • the handling of the door is particularly simplified in that the door leaf is provided with a handle on both the left and right, and the latch bolt can be actuated with each of these handles.
  • the pushers are coupled to the latch bolt via a connecting link.
  • the door can be operated with one or the other handle. Since the opening movement of the door is different from that of a normal door, the handles are arranged vertically in the known wheelchair-compatible door.
  • the disadvantage here is that, depending on whether the user is on the front or rear side of the door, the handle must be moved clockwise or counterclockwise to open the door.
  • the known door also has the disadvantage that it closes poorly. A relatively small pressure on the door leaf of the closed door is sufficient to swing the arms to which the door leaf is articulated a little. On the side of the axis of rotation of the arms, there is a gap between the door leaf and frame.
  • Another disadvantage is that the door when opening and closing leaves an unstable impression. The user gets the impression that something is wrong with the door and after closing the door is also unsure whether the latch bolt has actually clicked in or not. This is particularly disruptive for people with disabilities, for whom the known door was primarily created. Such people very often have a battered self-esteem and tend to attribute their door experience to their own clumsiness and disability.
  • the direction of rotation of the handle to open the door should always be the same, regardless of the location of the user.
  • the lock should also allow the door opening to be securely closed.
  • a lock of the type mentioned at the outset is characterized in that the first link is biased opposite to the direction of rotation of the second link.
  • the first link advantageously has a locking arm which locks the latch bolt when the first handle is rotated in the locking position.
  • no special latch is necessary. Accordingly, only one opening has to be provided on the door frame.
  • the first link expediently has a curve which, in the locking position, uncouples the connecting member from the latch bolt against the force of a spring. This ensures that the latch bolt can only be locked and unlocked by the one handle.
  • the curve has a latching surface for the locking position and a latching surface for the latching position and that a latching member is biased against the curve by a spring. This ensures clearly defined positions of the handle.
  • An intermediate piece is expediently arranged between the first link and the first spring.
  • the intermediate piece is advantageously U-shaped, a closing spring for the latch bolt being arranged between a driver of the latch bolt and an arm of the intermediate piece.
  • the latch bolt is expediently reversible.
  • the same lock can therefore be used for left- or right-closing doors.
  • the extension length of the latch bolt can be adjusted by an adjusting screw. This allows easy adjustment of the locking function on the building.
  • the first and the second lock part are expediently arranged in a U-shaped rail. This has the advantage that only a simple channel has to be provided for installing the lock in the door. It is possible to form the first and the second lock part in mirror symmetry. In this case, the door is closed on both sides by means of a latch bolt.
  • the invention also relates to a door according to claim 11. It is expedient that the Latch latch of the lock is arranged on the same side as the axis of rotation of the arms.
  • This arrangement has the advantage that it allows the door to be closed properly. As soon as the latch bolt has snapped into the latch opening, there is no longer any danger that the arms to which the door wing is hinged will be pivoted by pressure on the door wing and that there will be a gap between the door wing and the frame on the link side. The door closes well because the door leaf is held on one side by the latch bolt and on the other side by the guide element arranged in a guideway. Since the door leaf is stiff, the position of the arms with which the door leaf is articulated is also determined by the latch bolt falling into the latch opening. This also contributes to the stable mounting of the door leaf.
  • the arms expediently have a length which corresponds to approximately one third of the width of the door leaf. This results in an appropriate geometry of the door leaf movement when opening and closing.
  • the guide member is advantageously arranged about two thirds of the width of the door wing away from the axis of rotation of the arms. This distance of the guide member from the axis of rotation of the arms ensures on the one hand that the door closes tightly on the side opposite the latch bolt, and on the other hand there is a favorable and space-saving geometry of the door leaf movement when opening and closing.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 Before the two exemplary embodiments of the lock according to the invention are described, a description is given with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4 of a wheelchair-compatible door in which the lock can be used.
  • the door according to Figures 1 to 4 has a door leaf 1 which is hinged to a lower arm 3 and an upper arm 4.
  • the arms 3, 4 are synchronously pivotable about an axis of rotation to the side of the door opening.
  • a pivotable gallows 2 which has arms 3 and 4, is provided on the side of door leaf 1.
  • These arms 3, 4 are connected via joints 5 and 6 to the lower end face 7 and the upper end face 8 of the door leaf 1.
  • a guide piece 9 e.g. a pivot, attached, which is guided in a parallel to the closed door leaf 1 guide 10.
  • a plate 13 is attached to the top of the door leaf 1 by means of screws 12.
  • This plate 13 has a pin 14 on which a ball bearing 15 is arranged.
  • This ball bearing 15 thus forms a pivot which can run with little friction in the guide 10 of the upper part of the frame 11.
  • an upper arm 19 and a lower arm 20 are arranged at the top, which carry a steel tube 23 via an upper bearing 21 and a lower bearing 22, which forms the vertical pivot axis of the boom 2.
  • the upper arm 4 consists of a hollow profile which is firmly connected to the steel tube 23.
  • a bolt 25 is mounted via an axial thrust bearing 24, which is provided with a thread 26 at its lower end and is screwed into the threaded opening of an upper extension 27 of the door leaf 1.
  • the door leaf 1 can be adjusted in height by screwing the bolt 25 into the thread of the extension to a greater or lesser extent.
  • a mother 28 secures the bolt 25 in the final position.
  • a lower extension 29 is arranged corresponding to the upper extension 27, in which a screw 30 is rotatably mounted and is screwed into a threaded bore 31 of the lower arm 3. The thread of the threaded bore 31 is clamped to prevent loosening of the screw 30.
  • a washer 32 which facilitates pivoting is arranged between the lower arm 3 and the upper extension 29, a washer 32 which facilitates pivoting is arranged.
  • a corresponding pivot pin with guide could also be arranged on the lower end face of the door leaf 1.
  • the lower pivot and the lower guide could be provided in addition to or instead of the upper guide and the upper pivot. Because of the risk of contamination, however, it is advisable to provide a guide 10 only at the top.
  • FIG. 4 shows the door in the closed state.
  • the door leaf 1 is shown in a middle opening position.
  • Curves A and B represent the trajectories of the front and rear edges of door leaf 1.
  • These path profiles clearly show that the swiveling range of the door leaf 1 is extremely small, so that a change of location is practically no longer necessary for the person operating the door.
  • the operation of the door is further facilitated by the lock 36 (Fig. 5), which has a handle 37 on the y side and a handle 37 'on the x side of the door leaf 1 (Fig. 2).
  • a person who wants to open or close the door from the side X uses the handle 37 'remote from the gallows 2'.
  • a person who wants to open or close the door leaf from the Y side uses the lever 37 adjacent to the gallows 2.
  • the door closes very well with the described door construction.
  • the latch bolt 41 falls into the latch opening 47 (FIG. 1)
  • the door leaf 1 is practically held firmly at half the height. Since the door leaf 1 is relatively rigid, the arms 3 and 4 also remain in the position shown in FIG. 2, so that the door leaf 1 is also held well at 5 and 6.
  • the door leaf 1 is also held by the guide member 9, which is arranged on the guide track 10.
  • the door leaf 1 is provided with a door lock 36 with two lock parts 36 'and 36' '. Exemplary embodiments of the door lock according to the invention will be described in more detail later with reference to FIGS. 5 to 10.
  • the door lock 36 has both on the left and on the right side of the door leaf 1 a handle 37, 37 '.
  • a pusher 37 is located on the front and a pusher 37 'is located on the rear of the door leaf 1.
  • the left 37 and the right pusher 37' are coupled via a connecting member 39, such as a connecting rod, a rack or a connecting cable . This means that the door can be operated equally well on both the left and right sides.
  • the pusher 37, 37 ' can be arranged in both a horizontal and vertical position. However, they are expediently vertically upward, so that they can also be operated, for example, with the handle of a stick.
  • FIGS. 5 to 8 A first exemplary embodiment of the lock 36 according to the invention is shown in more detail in FIGS. 5 to 8.
  • a standard lock mechanism 40 can be used for a lock part 36 ', in which by a Pusher 37 of the latch bolt 41 can be actuated.
  • a connecting rod 39 is provided, via which the latch bolt 41 can also be actuated via the lever 37 'of the other lock part 36''.
  • the lock 36 is designed so that the push buttons 37, 37 'can be actuated in the same direction of rotation to open and close the door.
  • the person standing on the X side (Fig. 2) can open the door by turning the handle 37 clockwise
  • the person standing on the Y side can also open the door by turning the handle Open 37 'clockwise.
  • This is a great relief for a disabled door user.
  • the lock 36 of FIG. 5 created for this purpose, it is found that this causes the axis 43 to rotate clockwise (arrow 51), but the axis 45 in the Must be moved counterclockwise (arrow 53) in order to pull back the latch bolt 41 by means of the connecting rod 39 and thus release the door leaf 1.
  • Figures 7 and 8 the left and right lock parts 36 'and 36' 'are now shown. It should be noted that Figure 7 is a rear view.
  • the lock part 36 ' can have a standard lock mechanism 40.
  • This has in a housing 42 the latch bolt 41, which is normally held in the position shown by a spring 46. If the pusher 37 (FIG. 5) rotates (arrow 51) against the force of the spring 48, the link 49 with the driver 50 pulls the latch bolt 41 into the housing.
  • the lock part 36 '' (Fig. 8), which is connected via the plate 52 to the housing 42 (Fig. 7), has a link 54th with a driver 55.
  • This driver 55 is normally held by the force of the spring 57 in the position shown, in which it strikes the pin 59. Is by the handle 37 '(Fig. 5) a rotation (arrow 53) against the force of the spring 57, the driver 55 moves the coupling rod 39 coupled to it.
  • the preferred embodiment of the lock 36 shown in Figures 9 and 10 also has two lock parts 36 ', 36' ', each with an axis of rotation 43, 45 for a handle 37, 37'.
  • the axes of rotation 43, 45 are arranged at the same height, which represents an aesthetic advantage.
  • This lock also has a simple and compact design.
  • the latch bolt 41 can be actuated by the pusher 37.
  • a link 39 e.g. a connecting rod, also enables the actuation of the latch bolt 41 by the handle 37 'of the other lock part 36' '.
  • axis 43 To open the door, axis 43 must be operated in a clockwise direction or axis 45 in a counterclockwise direction.
  • the lock 36 has a housing 42 consisting of a U-shaped rail 52 ', a cover plate 56 for the lock part 36' and a cover plate 58 for the lock part 36 '.
  • This has openings 68, 69, 70, into which the inserts 65, 66, 67 (FIG. 10) snap.
  • the rail 52 ' also has an insert 71 (Fig. 10) which engages in the opening 72 of the cover plate 58.
  • the bolts 74, 75, 76, 77, 78 and 59, which are provided with threaded holes, are also used to fasten the cover plates 56, 58 by means of screws 73.
  • Each cover plate 56, 58 has a bore 79, 80 for mounting a link 49, or 54, on.
  • the through openings 81 in the housing 42 are used for mounting the lock.
  • the lock mechanism in the lock part 36 ' has in the housing 42 a latch bolt 41, which is normally held in the position shown by a spring 46.
  • the latch bolt 41 has a slide plate 82 to which the bolt body 83 is fastened with a screw 84.
  • the latch body 83 is reversible so that the lock can be used for a left or right closing door.
  • Two slots 85, 86, into which the pin 74 or the pin 87 protrude, serve to guide the slide plate 82.
  • the extension length of the bolt body 83 of the latch bolt 41 can be adjusted with the screw 84.
  • the spring 88 serves to secure the screw 84 in the set position.
  • the slide plate 82 has three tabs 89, 90, 91.
  • a through hole 92 is provided in the tab 89 for the adjusting screw 84.
  • the spring 46 engages the tab 90.
  • the tab 91 serves to block the latch bolt 41 through the arm 93 of the link 49.
  • the link 49 has a curve 95.
  • the curve 95 has several functions. If the locking arm 93 is rotated from the position shown into the locking position, the curve 95 moves the connecting member 39 against the force of the spring 96 and thus disengages the driver 61 from the tab 91. The pusher 37 'with the member 54 can therefore can still be moved, but does not actuate the latch bolt 41.
  • the curve 95 has a locking surface 97 for the latching position and a locking surface 98 for the locking position. These latching surfaces 97, 98 thus precisely define these positions.
  • a locking member 99 which is guided by the pin 76 and the bush 100, is biased by a spring 101 against the curve 95 and holds the member 49 either in the position shown, in which the latch bolt 41 in the latch opening 47 (Fig. 1) can snap into place, or in the locking position in which the locking arm 93 blocks the latch bolt 41 and prevents the door from being opened by the handle 37 ''.
  • An intermediate piece 102 is arranged adjacent to the locking arm 93. This is guided between the wall of the housing 42 and the pin 75. The pin 75 also limits the movement of the intermediate piece 102.
  • the spring 48 is biased against the U-shaped intermediate piece 102. When the door is opened, the locking arm 93 is moved against the force of the springs 46, 48. The locking arm 93 also acts on the tab 90 serving as a driver via the intermediate piece 102 and therefore pulls the latch bolt 41 out of the latch opening 47 (FIG. 1).
  • the lock part 36 ' has a link 54 with two arms 55. Only one arm 55 would actually be required, but the symmetrical design shown simplifies the assembly.
  • the force of the spring 57 keeps the link 54 in the position shown, in which an arm 55 strikes the pin 59. If the handle 37 '(FIG. 5) rotates (arrow 53) against the force of the spring 57, the arm 55 moves the connecting rod 39 coupled via the tab 103. This has the driver 61 in the lock part 36' engages the tab 91, so that when the trigger 37 'is actuated, the latch bolt 41 is pulled into the housing 42.
  • the spring 48 does not have to be compressed in this case, so that the actuation with the pusher 37 'generally does not require more force than the actuation with the pusher 37.
  • the latch bolt 41 is not pulled into the housing, when the door has been locked by the handle 37 and the curve 95 has pivoted the connecting rod 39 against the force of the spring 96 and has thus brought the driver 61 out of engagement with the tab 63.
