Definitions
- the present invention relates to a watch case with an attached decorative element.
- Document CH-A-654,973 relates to a watch case in which the part of the lateral face of the middle situated between the horns has a groove intended to receive a rib for fixing a decorative element.
- This decorative element has a semi-cylindrical face centered on the axis of the strap fixing bar which holds the fixing rib of the decorative element engaged in the groove of the middle.
- Such a method of attachment cannot guarantee high precision, the thickness of the bracelet, in this case apparently made of leather, being capable of varying by several tenths of mm, so that the position of the decorative element is not attached with precision and the latter may move or, on the contrary, prevent the bracelet from rotating around the fixing bar.
- the document CH-A-355,094 does not relate to the fixing of a decorative element but to that of attached horns.
- the middle part has two diametrically opposite cuts each receiving a lip projecting from a transverse block at the two ends of which the horns project away from the lip. It engages in one of the notches and is held by two ankles engaged in coincident holes in the middle and the lip.
- the bezel conceals the holes appearing on the upper face of the middle.
- the object of the present invention is to allow the attachment of a decorative element to a watch case, in particular an element capable of concealing the attachment of the bracelet to a wrist watch box.
- the subject of this invention is a watch case with an attached decorative element according to claim 1.
- the main advantage of the proposed solution lies in its simplicity, insofar as the added decorative element does not requires no particular fastening part, but is retained on the middle, either by the bezel or by the bottom.
- the present invention makes it possible in particular to give a surface finish to the decoration thus added, different from that of the top and bottom faces of the horns and to provide different levels between the surface of the horns and that of the decorative element.
- the attached drawing illustrates, schematically and by way of example, various variants of the watch case which is the subject of the present invention.
- Figure 1 is a partial top view of a watch case according to a first variant.
- Figure 2 is a sectional view along line II-II of Figure 1.
- Figure 3 is a partial top view of a watch case according to a second variant.
- FIG. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3.
- Figure 5 is a partial top view of a third variant.
- Figures 1 and 2 illustrate a wristwatch box, the part of the middle 1 located between the horns 2 has a clearance in an arc 3 formed in the external lateral face and concentric in the center of the box.
- Another elongated clearance 4 also in an arc is formed on the face of the middle part 1 adjacent to the bezel 5.
- this elongated clearance 4 extends angularly beyond the first clearance 3 and on either side of it.
- the edge of this second elongated clearance 4 is located at a distance from the outer edge of the middle part 1 thus providing two retaining ears 4a at the ends of this elongated clearance 4.
- the recesses 3 and 4 receive a decorative element 6 whose surface adjacent to the middle part 1 is complementary to those of the recesses 3 and 4.
- the upper face of this decorative element 6 is adjacent to the lower face of the bezel 5 which thus prevents it from leaving the second elongated release 4 and the two retaining ears 4a.
- this decorative element which extends towards the outside of the middle part in the space situated between the horns 2, has a clearance 8 constituted by a portion of cylindrical surface centered on the axis of the strap 9 for fixing the bracelet (not shown).
- this clearance 8 allows the passage of the end of the bracelet without there being any visible space from above the box between the latter and the bracelet.
- Figures 1 and 2 show that the decorative surface of the decorative element 6 can have different levels. It is noted in particular that the two decorative surfaces 6a adjacent to the horns 2 are at a lower level than that of the central surface 6b as well as that of the upper surface of the horns. Therefore, it is possible to give the decorative surfaces a different finish than that of the horns. Thus, for example, if the horns 2 are polished, the surfaces 6a can be matt and the surface 6b polished. Let's specify still that, in order not to hinder the spitting of the bezel 5 on the middle part 1, the thickness of the part of the decorative element 6 housed in the second elongated clearance 4 is less by a few hundredths of a millimeter than the depth of this clearance lying down 4.
- the middle part 10 has an elongated recess 11 formed on its lower face, adjacent to the abutment face 12 of the bottom 13.
- the outer edge of the middle part of this elongated recess 11 located between the horns 15 open on the external face of the middle part 10 which, in this case, does not have any clearance, while the ends 11a of the elongated clearance 11 are surrounded by a rim.
- the decorative element 14 comprises a part 14a complementary to the elongated clearance 11, serving to retain this decorative element 14 once the base 13 is fixed on the middle part, and a surface in an arc 14b, adjacent to the part of the lateral face. external of the middle part 10, situated between the horns 15.
- the visible decorative surface of the decorative element 14 is of an aspect which may be identical to that of FIG. 1.
- the decorative element 16 also constitutes the last link of a link bracelet 17 and at the same time serves as a fastening member for this bracelet to the case 18 which, then, could no longer include horns as illustrated by this figure.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a watch case with an attached decorative element.
To attach a bracelet to a wristwatch case, there is generally a clearance between the middle and the bracelet. This play creates a separation between the watch and the bracelet, making it clear that these are two distinct bodies visibly fixed to each other. For a long time, solutions have been proposed which make it possible to make invisible the attachment of the bracelet to the watch, for example by providing a recess in the middle to conceal this attachment.
It has also been proposed in document CH-A-649 675 to fix two bars to the middle part to conceal the horns, these bars comprising ears crossed by a threaded hole, introduced into housings of the middle part and retained by fixing screws . These bars are also used to fix the glass on the middle. This solution is particularly suitable for a rectangular watch. While with such a watch, the fixing screws can take place in the corners of the case, it is not the same with a round watch, so this solution is not suitable for this type of watch .
In the case of round watches, it has been proposed, for bracelets with articulated metal links, to make the last links adjacent to the case with a shape exactly complementary to the space delimited by the horns and the middle part and to provide a passage for through each of these links for the strap for attaching the bracelet to the box so that, once fixed to the horns, this link is practically integral with the box and seems to be perfectly integrated into the latter. Such a solution is illustrated in particular by CH 483 214, but it is only applicable in this form for a bracelet with metal links and not for a leather strap for example.
Document CH-A-654,973 relates to a watch case in which the part of the lateral face of the middle situated between the horns has a groove intended to receive a rib for fixing a decorative element. This decorative element has a semi-cylindrical face centered on the axis of the strap fixing bar which holds the fixing rib of the decorative element engaged in the groove of the middle. Such a method of attachment cannot guarantee high precision, the thickness of the bracelet, in this case apparently made of leather, being capable of varying by several tenths of mm, so that the position of the decorative element is not attached with precision and the latter may move or, on the contrary, prevent the bracelet from rotating around the fixing bar.
The document CH-A-355,094 does not relate to the fixing of a decorative element but to that of attached horns. To this end, the middle part has two diametrically opposite cuts each receiving a lip projecting from a transverse block at the two ends of which the horns project away from the lip. It engages in one of the notches and is held by two ankles engaged in coincident holes in the middle and the lip. The bezel conceals the holes appearing on the upper face of the middle.
The object of the present invention is to allow the attachment of a decorative element to a watch case, in particular an element capable of concealing the attachment of the bracelet to a wrist watch box.
To this end, the subject of this invention is a watch case with an attached decorative element according to claim 1.
The main advantage of the proposed solution lies in its simplicity, insofar as the added decorative element does not requires no particular fastening part, but is retained on the middle, either by the bezel or by the bottom. Compared to solutions in which a clearance is provided in the middle part to conceal the attachment of the bracelet, the present invention makes it possible in particular to give a surface finish to the decoration thus added, different from that of the top and bottom faces of the horns and to provide different levels between the surface of the horns and that of the decorative element.
The attached drawing illustrates, schematically and by way of example, various variants of the watch case which is the subject of the present invention.
Figure 1 is a partial top view of a watch case according to a first variant.
Figure 3 is a partial top view of a watch case according to a second variant.
Figure 5 is a partial top view of a third variant.
In the variant illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4, the
With the third variant illustrated by FIG. 5, which, moreover, is identical to the previous variant, the
