Ein Verfahren der in Rede stehenden Art zum Trocknen von Wäsche in einem programmgesteuerten Trommelwäschetrockner ist allgemein bekannt und bedarf keiner weiteren Erläuterung. Besteht nun eine Wäschetrommelcharge aus Wäschestücke unterschiedlicher Dicke, z. B. aus ein- und mehrlagigem Trockengut, so kann bei der nach dem bekannten Trocknungsverfahren getrockneten Wäsche unterschiedlicher Beschaffenheit keine gleichmäßige und damit befriedigende Trocknung sämtlicher Wäschestücke gleichzeitig erreicht werden. Dies ist darauf zurückzuführen, daß mehrlagige und damit voluminösere Wäschestücke eine größere Feuchtigkeitsmenge speichern als einlagige Wäschestücke. Einlagige Wäschestücke sind dann oftmals schon trocken, während mehrlagige Wäschestücke noch eine gewisse Restfeuchte enthalten. Wird hier dann der Trocknungsprozeß fortgesetzt, um auch bei den mehrlagigen Wäschestücken einen gewünschten Trocknungszustand zu erreichen, hat dies zur Folge, daß die bereits trockenen Wäschestücke übertrocknet werden. Daraus ergibt sich wieder der weitere Nachteil, daß solche übertrockneten Wäschestücke sich dann äußerst schwer bügeln lassen.A method of the type in question for drying laundry in a program-controlled tumble dryer is generally known and requires no further explanation. Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe gemäß der Erfindung besteht darin, daß während oder gegen Ende des Trocknungsprozesses eine oder mehrere aufeinander folgende Ruhezeitenphasen eingelegt werden, während einer solchen der Trocknungsluftstrom und/oder die elektrische Heizeinrichtung ganz oder teilweise ausgeschaltet wird. Dadurch wird erreicht, daß während der Ruhezeitphase Feuchtigkeit aus dickeren bzw. voluminöseren Wäschestücken in die dünneren und deshalb schon trockeneren Wäschestücke diffundieren kann, aus denen die Feuchtigkeit dann mit Fortsetzen des Trocknungsprozesses in der bekannten Weise wiederum abgeführt wird. Die Zeitdauer einer Ruhezeitphase kann zwischen einer und zehn Minuten liegen und kann auch mehrmals wiederholt werden. Zweckmäßig ist es dabei, während einer solchen Ruhezeitphase den Antrieb der Wäschetrommel abzustellen. Die Programmsteuereinrichtung des Wäschetrockners wird so ausgelegt, daß der Trocknungsprozeß mit einer Ruhezeitphase über eine entsprechende Wähltaste gesondert angewählt werden kann. Es wäre auch möglich, daß ein solcher Trocknungsprozeß in Abhängigkeit von den zu trocknenden Wäschestücken von unterschiedlicher Art und Zusammensetzung automatisch angewählt oder mit Erreichen eines bestimmten Wäschetrocknungsgrades in Betrieb gesetzt wird.The solution to this problem according to the invention is that one or more successive rest periods are inserted during or towards the end of the drying process, during which the drying air flow and / or the electric heating device is completely or partially switched off.
