Description

The invention relates to a cerumen trap for hearing impaired devices according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such cerumen traps are already known. For example, DE - B 1 259 951 a hearing device with a protective device against the penetration of cerumen into the interior of the hearing device. For this purpose, a U-shaped component is inserted into the sound output channel of the hearing aid, which has two lateral sound passages. The component has a base into which the pin of a cover that covers the sound output to the outside is inserted in a snap-in manner. On its inner surface, the cover has four webs offset from one another, which, in conjunction with the passages, form the sound output of the device. With this arrangement, cerumen can still penetrate laterally into the sound outputs. If the wax pressure is too high, the lid is pressed so far against the elastic body of the hearing aid that the sound outlet is closed.

The object of the invention is to provide a cerumen catcher of the type mentioned at the outset, in which the penetration of cerumen is prevented with great certainty, and also closing the sound outlet at high cerumen pressure is avoided, while the still necessary cleaning of the cerumen trap is facilitated.

This object of the invention is achieved according to the features of claim 1.

Further features of the invention can be found in the further claims.

The invention will now be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment in conjunction with the accompanying figures.

The cerumen trap shown in the figures is shown on a very large scale. In reality, it has a diameter of almost 4 mm.

Selbstverständlich sind diese Maßangaben in keiner Weise als beschränkend aufzufassen.1 shows the cylindrical component 1 that can be inserted into a hearing aid or into an otoplastic and has a continuous sound channel 2, which carries an approximately 1.2 mm long connecting piece 3 at one end. Of course, these dimensions are in no way to be interpreted as restrictive.

As can be clearly seen from Fig. 1 in connection with Fig. 2, the component 1 has several, e.g. four elbows 4. Of course, there can only be 3 or more than 4. These angle pieces are arranged uniformly on the circumference of the component 1.

At their upper end, the elbows have latching noses 5, while a horizontally extending base section 6 is provided at the lower end, the meaning of which is explained below.

3 shows a sectional view through this component 1
The cap 7 shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 can be placed on this component. For this purpose, the cap 7 has on its inner vertical surface a preferably, but not necessarily, all-round locking groove.

Durch die in beiden Figuren eingezeichneten Pfeile ist der Verlauf des Schallaustritts deutlich dargestellt.FIGS. 6A and 6B show the new cerumen trap in a side view, partly in section, and in a view from above. It can now be clearly seen that a cavity 9 is formed between the upper edge of the component 1 and the underside of the cap 7. The course of the sound outlet is clearly shown by the arrows drawn in both figures.

If one chooses the distances between the individual angle pieces 4 and the size of the cavity 9 accordingly, a desired resonance behavior can be achieved in the output of the hearing aid.

One can also see that by choosing the dimensions of the elbows and the locking lugs or the location of the locking groove 8 in the cap 7, the size of the cavity 9 can be varied to a small extent.

It can also be seen that with this new arrangement, the penetration of cerumen is prevented with certainty by the side walls of the cap 7 which overlap the base parts 6 of the angle pieces.

This cerumen catcher is very easy to clean because the cap is easily removable. Nevertheless, the cap normally sits sufficiently firmly on the cylindrical component, since a locking effect is achieved by the locking lug 4 which is latched into the locking groove 8 of the cap 7 in conjunction with the support of the cap edge on the base part 6 of the angle pieces 4.

The invention can also be implemented by mechanical reversal. The component 1 would then be smooth on its surface facing the auditory canal and would have a locking groove on its outer surface. The cap 7 would then have a number of latching lugs in connection with an equal number of spacers on the inner wall. These would then not only prevent the cap from being inserted too deeply, but would also have a clamping effect.
