The sealing film (1s) is placed over the base film (1b), forming cavities (H) in which portions of ice cream (4) are packaged. The sealing film (1s) is bonded to the base film (1b), but can be easily detached to allow the ice cream (4) to be removed intact from the packaging. The strip-like packaging passes through a freezing region (6) and is then introduced into a magazine (7) in which it can be stored in either roll or zigzag form. A device for dispensing the portions of ice cream comprises a cooling container (8) with at least one magazine (7), a dispensing mechanism with means (10) for stepwise removal of the packagings (1), means (10, 11) for tearing open and disposing of the packagings (1), and a dispensing opening (13) through which the portions of ice cream (4) can be dispersed, without being touched, into a bowl (14). The disposal means can be flattening means (11) or coiling means (12) or can include means for shredding and collecting the used films (1b, 1s).

Description

The present invention relates to a device for dispensing portions of ice cream packaged in strips from their strip-shaped packaging with a container with at least one magazine for strip-shaped packaging of portions and an output mechanism with means for gradually removing the strip-shaped packages from the magazine, means for tearing open the strip-shaped packages Packages for removing a portion from their packaging, which means comprise at least one demoulding roller and a pair of disposal rollers, and means for disposing of the used films resulting from the tearing open.

In a context other than with ice cream, such a device is known from US-A-3686820. This device, known from US-A-3686820, is unsuitable for dispensing portions of ice cream packaged in strips from their strip-shaped packaging insofar as it does not allow open portions of ice cream for open desserts, in particular self-service, in a simple and easy manner in a technologically and hygienically clean manner to obtain a hygienically perfect type and in particular to dispense it in a provided bowl.

In gastronomy, ice cream in open form is basically drawn from containers by the operating personnel, which are supplied by the ice cream manufacturer and then arranged in freezers or open refrigerated buffets. From a food technology and hygienic point of view, this form of dispensing has always been questionable; it is particularly unsuitable for purchasing ice cream through self-service. Ready-made ice cream products offered for self-service (ice cream cornets, ice cream cones etc.), on the other hand, cannot be presented or obtained in an appealing manner as a dessert, or even arranged as "coupes". The Providing even simple ice cream desserts in an open form, not to mention seductively designed coupes, is also very labor-intensive, so that any relief in this regard is of great benefit.

The invention has for its object to enable the purchase of open portions of ice cream for open desserts, in particular in self-service in a simple and hygienically flawless way.

With a view to solving this problem, portions of ice cream packed in strip-shaped packaging are available. Such a strip-shaped packaging is known per se and is produced from two strip-shaped films provided with formations. In the case of each film, the inside of the formations forms a concave shape without an undercut, and the formations are arranged in rows in the longitudinal direction of the film at a distance from one another and from the edges of the film thereon. The foils are placed on top of one another and connected to one another in such a way that the inner sides of their formations correspond to one another and in pairs each form a closed spherical or tetrahedral cavity. A correspondingly spherical or tetrahedral portion of ice cream is packed in each cavity formed in this way. The connection of the foils to one another is so easy to separate that each portion of ice cream can be removed undamaged from its packaging after the connection has been broken. This strip-shaped packaging of portions of ice cream is then stored in a cooled magazine and is stored in a roll or zigzag form. The strip-shaped packaging can be provided with predetermined kinks in order to facilitate rolling or zigzagging.

To achieve the stated object, a device of the type specified at the outset is characterized by an embodiment of the container as a cooling container and an embodiment of the dispensing mechanism for the purpose of non-contact dispensing of a portion of ice cream that has been removed into the bowl a dispensing opening and an underlying receptacle for a tray provided directly under the dispensing opening, and an arrangement of a pair of demoulding rollers in the vicinity of the dispensing opening and essentially vertically one above the other for tearing open the strip-shaped packaging while at the same time redirecting the resulting from the tearing and from the disposal Rolls of used foils placed under tension, such that a portion of ice cream released by the tearing advances with the used foil attached to the lower demoulding roller during the dispensing process until it falls off this foil and then through the dispensing opening, whereupon it falls into a bowl provided directly underneath can get there.

Such a device is particularly suitable for the purchase of portions of ice cream from output refrigerators or from refrigerated buffets for self-service.

A wide range of ice cream flavors can be permanently available and offered in a food-safe manner. Depending on the operation and area of application, the customer or the operating staff can obtain the desired ice cream units from the dispenser and thus compile complete ice cream desserts. By providing various ingredients, even anyone can easily compose their own, individual "coupe", which, in addition to relieving the strain on staff and the company, also results in a sales-boosting pleasure gain for consumers based on their own creativity.

The disposal means can comprise means for flat pressing the used films resulting from the tearing and means for winding up the flat pressed used films. Such means are known from US-A-3686820, but not in connection with the inventive solution to the stated object.

In another variant, the means for disposal can include means for chopping up the used films resulting from the tearing and means for collecting the chopped up include used slides. Such agents are known from US-A-4008657, but not in connection with the inventive solution to the stated problem.

The cooling container can be a commercially available freezer, onto or onto which the dispensing mechanism with the dispensing opening is mounted as a superstructure or front-end unit.

The dispensing mechanism can be coupled to a cash dispenser to block or release the dispensing of portions of ice cream.

The device according to the invention is suitable for use in output cooling apparatus. The consumer can place a dessert bowl under the opening of the desired aroma and then press the corresponding reference button. The packaging is removed by a repeat and at the same time redirected and torn open so that the content falls directly into the bowl underneath. When the consumer has obtained the desired ice cream flavors, he can continue at the dessert buffet and, for example, supplement his ice cream with ingredients of his choice (fruits, berries, biscuits, cream, etc.).

With the device according to the invention, a dosage form of ice cream is made possible to provide the popular fresh ice cream desserts in a versatile, hygienic and consumer-friendly manner practically anywhere and at any time for immediate reference without the need for operating personnel to be ready or otherwise stressed. Post-magazines can be taken care of by unskilled assistants, hygiene problems do not arise during this process, and the maintenance and cleaning work on the delivery mechanism are kept to a minimum.

Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with the aid of schematic drawings. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 is a schematic sagittal section of an example of a device according to the invention in an output cooling device with packaging of portions of ice cream arranged therein, and
  • FIG. 2 shows a schematic detailed view of a dispensing mechanism in the device of FIG. 1.

In the following, reference is made to both FIGS. 1 and 2.

In a compartment or magazine 7 of the cooling container 8 there is a packaging 1 equipped with portions of ice cream 4. In the example shown, this packaging 1 is stored in a zigzag shape in the magazine 7, in a variant it could be stored in the magazine 7 as a roll.

The packaging 1 comprises two films 1b and 1s which are connected to one another. These foils are provided with formations M and K, the inner sides of which have a concave shape without an undercut and correspond to one another in such a way that they each form a closed cavity H in pairs, in which a portion of ice cream 4 is received.

The inside of the formations M or K of the foils 1b and 1s can be hemispherical as shown or have the shape of a half of a tetrahedron. Corresponding to the spherical or tetrahedral cavity H thus formed, a spherical or tetrahedral portion of ice cream 4 is accommodated therein.

The consumer places a dessert bowl 14 under the opening 13, which corresponds, for example, to a desired ice cream aroma, and then actuates a reference button (not shown). The packaging 1 is then pulled off by a repeat by means of the dispensing mechanism 9 and in particular by pulling the demolding rolls 10 in order to gradually remove the strip-shaped packaging 1 from the magazine 7. The output mechanism 9 consists essentially of two demoulding rollers 10 with recesses which correspond to the formations M and K, the interaction of the recesses of the demolding rolls 10 with the formations of the foils, for example, an interaction of gear and rack is comparable.

The strip-shaped packaging 1 is torn open in order to remove a portion of ice cream 4 by deflecting the foils 1b and 1s around the demoulding rollers 10 and by pulling disposal rollers 11 in such a way that the portion of ice cream 4 gets directly into the underlying dessert bowl 14 . The used foils 1b and 1s resulting from the tearing are then pressed flat by the disposal rollers 11 and wound onto the collecting rollers 12.

In another variant, not shown, the disposal rollers 11 can be provided with blades for chopping the used foils 1b and 1s resulting from the tearing open. Means for collecting the chopped used foils 1b and 1s are then provided, for example exchangeable waste containers into which the chopped foil parts are collected.

In a further variant, not shown, the dispensing mechanism can be coupled to an automatic cash dispenser. The cash dispenser blocks the dispensing of portions of ice cream or releases them after inserting a coin.

Otherwise, the dispensing mechanism can be provided with or without an automatic cash dispenser so that it can be operated manually, or it can also be operated by an electric motor by means of a pushbutton control.
