Definitions
- the present invention relates to a digital - analog display device for a timepiece comprising a floor, consisting of an analog disc mounted on the floor and having a window through which appears a figure carried by a digital disc and comprising means for ensuring the rotation of the digital disc relative to the analog disc at each turn of the analog disc.
- Such a display device is known from document CH-A-119 761.
- the position of the window displays the minutes in an analog manner, while the time is displayed digitally in the window.
- the hours disc is constituted by a disc mounted in satellite on the minutes disc.
- the diameter of the hour disc is therefore less than half the diameter of the minute disc and the hour digits are therefore relatively small, less than 1/24 of the surface of the dial being used for displaying the hour. If the size of the hour digit can still be sufficient for a pocket watch, it becomes totally insufficient for a wristwatch.
- the document CH-A-30 760 describes a construction analogous to the difference that the minute disc is constituted here by a minute hand in the form of a pallet in the center of which the hour disc is mounted. This device therefore has the same drawbacks as the previous device.
- the present invention aims to provide easy reading of the time, also for a wristwatch.
- the digital - analog display device is characterized in that the digital disc is constituted by a disc coaxial with the analog disc and rotated by the roadway by jumper means, and that the means for ensuring the rotation of the digital disc relative to the analog disc are constituted by an eccentric mobile ensuring, at each turn, the shift of the digital disc relative to the analog disc.
- the analog disc will generally, but not necessarily, be a minute disc, while the digital disc will be an hour disc.
- the drawing schematically represents a clockwork movement 15, provided with a roadway 1 on which is fat mounted a minute disc 2 provided with a window 3 the outline of which has a point 3a playing the role of the minute hand for the analog display of the minutes.
- a pinion 4 On the roadway 1 is further riveted a pinion 4 having a triangular toothing with twelve teeth.
- the roadway also carries an hour disc 5, the same diameter as the minute disc 2 and bearing the hour numbers appearing in turn in the window 3.
- the hour disc 5 is freely mounted on the roadway 1. It is integral with a wheel 6 provided with twelve teeth 7 and a pinion 8 with a toothing similar to the pinion 4 and meshing with this pinion 4 under the thrust of a spring 9 mounted between the minute disc 2 and the hour disc 5.
- the hour disc 5, the toothed wheel 6 and the pinion 8 therefore constitute a monobloc assembly which could consist of a single piece.
- the pinion 4 is provided with a peripheral toothing 10 meshing with a reference 11 mounted on the plate of the movement and driving a pinion 12 mounted eccentrically on the plate and provided with a finger 13.
- the pinion 12 therefore rotates at the same speed as the minutes record 2 and the hours record 5, but in the opposite direction to these records.
- the spring 9 and the pinion 8 constitute a jumper device.
- the operation of the display device is as follows:
- the hour disc 5 is driven in synchronous rotation with the minute disc 2, so that during the rotation of the minute disc 2 the hour digit remains displayed in the window 3.
- the finger 13 of the pinion 12 abuts against one of the teeth 7 of the wheel 6.
- the pinion 8 being prevented from turning, it moves away from the pinion 4 by compressing the spring 9 and its teeth mount on the teeth of the pinion 4.
- the wheel 6 is moving axially with the hour wheel 5, its tooth 7 in engagement with the finger 13 finally escapes the finger 13, but not before the teeth of the pinion 8 have passed over the teeth of the pinion 4.
- the teeth of the pinion 8 are then reengage in the teeth of the pinion 4 under the thrust of the spring 9 and the hour disc 5 is again positioned relative to the minute disc 2 with an offset of 30 ° showing the following hour figure in the window 3.
- the jumper mechanism constituted by the spring 9 and the pinion 8 could of course be replaced by any other jumper mechanism, for example by a jumper spring mounted on the hour wheel 5 and cooperating with a star wheel fixed on the roadway 1 This construction eliminates the spring 9 and reduces the height of the road.
- the number of teeth of the pinions 4 and 8 and of the wheel 6 can of course be different from 12 to obtain a 24-hour display or other divisions than hourly divisions.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a digital - analog display device for a timepiece comprising a floor, consisting of an analog disc mounted on the floor and having a window through which appears a figure carried by a digital disc and comprising means for ensuring the rotation of the digital disc relative to the analog disc at each turn of the analog disc.
Such a display device is known from document CH-A-119 761. The position of the window displays the minutes in an analog manner, while the time is displayed digitally in the window. In this execution, the hours disc is constituted by a disc mounted in satellite on the minutes disc. The diameter of the hour disc is therefore less than half the diameter of the minute disc and the hour digits are therefore relatively small, less than 1/24 of the surface of the dial being used for displaying the hour. If the size of the hour digit can still be sufficient for a pocket watch, it becomes totally insufficient for a wristwatch. The document CH-A-30 760 describes a construction analogous to the difference that the minute disc is constituted here by a minute hand in the form of a pallet in the center of which the hour disc is mounted. This device therefore has the same drawbacks as the previous device.
The present invention aims to provide easy reading of the time, also for a wristwatch.
The digital - analog display device according to the invention is characterized in that the digital disc is constituted by a disc coaxial with the analog disc and rotated by the roadway by jumper means, and that the means for ensuring the rotation of the digital disc relative to the analog disc are constituted by an eccentric mobile ensuring, at each turn, the shift of the digital disc relative to the analog disc.
The analog disc will generally, but not necessarily, be a minute disc, while the digital disc will be an hour disc.
Particularly interesting embodiments of the invention are defined by
- Figure 1 is a plan view of the display device.
- Figure 2 is a sectional view along II-II of Figure 1.
The drawing schematically represents a
The operation of the display device is as follows: The
An important advantage of the construction described above resides in the fact that the
The jumper mechanism constituted by the
The number of teeth of the
