Abstract

The casing of a roller shutter consists at least partially of box- type slats (12) which are fitted at the top and at the bottom with longitudinal slots (32, 34), are made of extruded aluminium and are interconnected by connecting rods (14) which engage in the slots displaceably and in a hooking manner and are essentially of C-shaped cross-section. The connecting rods (14) consist of transparent plastic. Ventilation openings (48) are arranged in the inner side walls (24) of the box-type slats (12) in such a way that they communicate with the top and/or bottom slots (32, 34) of the slats (12). By this means, with the casing raised in the ventilation position, on the one hand adequate ventilation is achieved and, on the other hand, excessive darkening of the room behind it is avoided. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a roller shutter, the armor of which consists at least in part of box-shaped roller shutter bars made of extruded aluminum which are provided with longitudinal slots at the top and bottom and which are connected to one another by connecting bars of essentially C-shaped cross section which can be moved and hooked into the slots, the Tanks have successive ventilation openings at horizontal intervals, which are closed in the tank's deflation end position.

Shutters designed in this way are known in various designs and from various materials. In a first known version (DE-GM 74 41 951), both the roller shutter rods and the connecting rods provided with ventilation openings are made of plastic, resulting in a very light roller shutter armor which offers little security against burglary and also against shots in the event of attempted attacks. In addition, only a little light penetrates through the ventilation openings formed as narrow gaps in the connecting rods when the shell is raised into the ventilation position of the rods, which considerably limits the use of the roller shutter as sun protection during the day.

A more recent known proposal for a roller shutter of the shape mentioned at the outset (DE-GM 79 16 727) therefore provides for the connecting rods to be made from a fine-meshed wire mesh or mesh made of stainless steel, aluminum or galvanized metal, while the box-shaped roller shutter rods as in the aforementioned version are made of plastic. This does improve the light transmission of the raised tank and also the ventilation; Theft security and bullet security still leave something to be desired.

Yet another known roller shutter of the type mentioned Gestalt uses box-shaped roller shutter slats made of extruded aluminum, which results in a relatively heavy and stiff roller shutter curtain that is both secure against theft and attempted assassinations. At the same time, however, because of the weakening through these openings, the connecting rods provided with ventilation openings must also be made of aluminum so that they do not break under the weight of the roller shutter rods, which not only increases the cost of the roller shutters, but also causes excessive darkening even when the roller shutter curtain is raised in the ventilation position brings itself.

The object of the invention is therefore to design a roller shutter curtain of the type mentioned in such a way that, in addition to adequate ventilation, excessive darkening of the space behind it is avoided when the curtain is raised into the ventilation position.

According to the invention this object is achieved in that the connecting rods are made of translucent plastic and the ventilation openings in the inner side walls of the box-shaped roller shutter slats are arranged so that they communicate with the upper and / or lower slots of the roller shutter slats.

Due to the inventive displacement of the ventilation openings in the box-shaped roller shutter bars, there is no weakening of the connecting bars, and despite the armor weight determined by the metal roller shutter bars, they can be produced from a translucent plastic without risk of breakage, which ensures the desired passage of light. Adequate ventilation is nevertheless ensured since the ventilation openings arranged in the inner profile side walls of the box-shaped roller shutter slats via the upper and / or lower longitudinal slots on the roller shutter slats, the width of which is greater than the thickness of the ver tie rods is open to the atmosphere. The ventilation openings can even be of any size because, on the one hand, they practically do not adversely affect the strength of the metal roller shutter slats and, on the other hand, the risk of insects and dust penetrating over the long ventilation path is considerably reduced.

The connecting rods advantageously consist of a polycarbonate, which can be colorless or colored.

In order to avoid an undamped transmission of the penetrating sun rays into the interior with full transparency of the material forming the connecting rods, a feature of the advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the connecting rods between the hook-shaped profile ends are provided on at least one side with a refractive surface structure. This is expediently formed by an obtuse-angled zigzag profile of the structured surface.

According to another feature of the advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least the outer side wall of each box-shaped roller shutter bar is provided at one profile end with a protruding narrow profile tongue which, when the roller shutter is closed, overlaps in a corresponding profile recess on the other profile end of the side wall of the next roller shutter bar.

Otherwise, the box profile of the roller shutter slats can be symmetrical or asymmetrical, in the former case the box profile is divided by a transverse wall connecting the side walls into two equal-sized chambers, each of which has a longitudinal slot that is open upwards or downwards, into which, when the roller shutter is completely closed, the Retract the connecting rods halfway. This allows a further embodiment in that the inner side wall of each roller shutter bar is provided with two rows of ventilation openings, each leading to one of the two chambers.

In the case of the asymmetrical design of the box profile of the roller shutter slats, this is divided by a transverse wall connecting the side walls into a long chamber for the displaceable and pivotable reception of the connecting rod attached thereto and a short chamber for the mere pivotable reception of the hook on the connecting rod there. In this case, the inner side wall of each box-shaped roller shutter bar is then expediently provided with only one row of ventilation openings which lead to the long chamber.

Darin zeigen:

The invention is explained in more detail below using two exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing. In it show:
  • 1 is a schematic representation of the front view of a first embodiment of the roller shutter curtain according to the invention in the fully lowered or closed state,
  • 2 shows the same end view as in FIG. 1 in the raised ventilation position of the tank,
  • 3 on a larger scale a section of FIG. 2 according to the dash-dotted frame there,
  • Fig. 4 is a side view of part of the shutter curtain according to Fig. 1 to 3 in the ventilation position and
  • 5 and 6 end views corresponding to the representations in FIGS. 1 and 2 of a modified embodiment of the roller shutter curtain.

The roller shutter curtain 10 shown in Figures 1 to 4 consists of a lower part 12 with alternating successive box-shaped roller shutter bars 12 and connecting bars 14 and an upper part with conventional profile bars 16 and is at the lower end by a hollow end bar 18 of substantially larger cross section than the aforementioned Rods completed. The upper end (not shown) of the tank is fixed in a conventional manner to an armored shaft within a roller shutter box and can be wound onto it by an electric motor or by hand to lift the tank into the ventilation position shown in FIG. 2 or to pull the tank up completely. In the completely unwound state, the bars 12, 14, 16 of the roller shutter curtain assume the position shown in FIG. 1, in which, depending on the application, the end bar 18 is intercepted by a window sill or a door sill, so that all of the bars 12 located thereover , 14, 16 slide into one another and the connecting rods 14 are completely accommodated in the box-shaped roller shutter rods 12.

The box-shaped roller shutter slats 12 consist of extruded aluminum with a mainly H-shaped profile 20 and thereby have an outer side wall 22 and an inner side wall 24 parallel thereto, which are connected to one another in the middle of the profile by a transverse wall 26.

As a result, the inside of each box-shaped roller shutter bar 12 is divided into an upper chamber 28 and a lower chamber 30 of the same size, which are opened towards the profile ends via longitudinal slots 32, 34, which are formed by the outer side wall 22 and in each case by a fold 36 and 38 the inner side wall 24 are limited. Furthermore, a profile tongue 40 is formed on the outer side wall 22 at the lower end of the profile, which is about half as wide as the wall thickness there, which in the fully lowered position of the roller shutter curtain according to FIG. 1 into a correspondingly wide profile recess 42 at the other profile end of the outer side wall 22 of the next roller shutter bar 18 engages overlapping.

The connecting rods 14 are made of a translucent plastic, such as in particular a polycarbonate, which can be colorless or colored, and have an elongated, symmetrical C cross section with a straight central wall part 44 and adjoining hook-shaped ends 46, which pass through the slots 32, 34 engage in the hollow chambers 28, 30 of the subsequent roller shutter slats 12 and hook behind the folds 36 and 38 of the inner side wall 24, respectively, whereby the connecting bars 14 can be pivoted relative to the box-shaped roller shutter slats 12, which enables the roller shutter curtain to be wound up. By suitably long design of the hollow chambers 28, 30 and the straight wall part 44 of the connecting rods 14, these can also each be inserted in half into the hollow chambers 28, 30 when the end strip 18 is placed on the window sill or the threshold of the door opening to be closed, in order to To get the fully closed position of the shutter curtain shown in Fig. 1.

The longitudinal slots 32, 34 in the box-shaped roller shutter slats 12 are wider than the thickness of the connector extension bars 14 so that the hollow chambers 28, 30 are in constant communication with the surrounding atmosphere in front of the roller shutter curtain. Furthermore, there are two rows of ventilation openings in the inner side wall 24, each of which leads to one of the two hollow chambers 28, 30 in the box-shaped roller shutter slats 12. As a result, in the ventilation position of the roller shutter curtain, in which the profile tongues 40 are disengaged from the profile recesses 42 of the roller shutter slats 12, a continuous ventilation path is obtained from the outside of the roller shutter curtain to the inside thereof, which runs through one or the other hollow chamber 28 or 30 and is so long that the passage of dust or insects is largely avoided. At the same time, the displacement of the ventilation openings in the box-shaped roller shutter profiles means that the armor does not only provide effective sound insulation not only in the fully lowered state but also in the raised position in which daylight can pass through the translucent connecting rods.

The modified embodiment shown in Figures 5 and 6, for the explanation of which the same reference numerals are used as in Figures 1 to 4 for the corresponding parts, differs from the previously described embodiment only in that there designated 26 'transverse wall of the box-shaped Roller shutter slats 12 is shifted asymmetrically, so that the upper chamber 28 'is significantly longer than in the previously described embodiment and the lower chamber 30' is correspondingly shorter. The profile length of the roller shutter slats 12 as well as the profile length of the connecting rods 14, however, are the same as in the embodiment according to Figures 1 to 4, so that in the embodiment according to Figures 5 and 6, the box-shaped roller shutter slats 12, this time with displacement of the connecting rods 14 only in the upper chamber 28 'can be moved completely into the engagement position of the profile tongues 40 with the profile recesses 42 according to FIG. 5. In contrast, the lower chamber 30 is kept so short that the engaging upper hook-shaped end 46 of the connecting rod 14 which adjoins the bottom can only be pivoted relative to the box-shaped roller shutter rod 12.

Anstelle der gezeigten einen Reihe von Belüftungsöffnungen können selbstverständlich auch zwei oder mehrere derartige Reihen vorgesehen seien, die jedoch sämtliche zur oberen Kammer 28′ führen.5 and 6, the inner side walls 24 'therein contain only one row of ventilation openings 48 which lead to the upper chamber 28' and via this and the upper longitudinal slots 32 'there is a ventilation path to the outside form the roller shutter curtain. Instead of the one row of ventilation openings shown, two or more such rows can of course also be provided, but all of them lead to the upper chamber 28 '.

As already mentioned, the connecting rods 14 consist of a translucent plastic which can be completely transparent. In this case, since the sun's rays would enter the interior of the building uninterrupted, at least when the sun was low, it is advisable to ensure that the light refracts. As shown in FIG. 2, this is expediently obtained by providing either the outside of the straight wall part 44 of the hook-shaped connecting rods 14 or the inside thereof or both sides with a refractive surface structure, preferably in the form of an obtuse-angled zigzag profile 50.
