Description

The present invention relates to a tool holder system for tools with cylindrical and taper shanks according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

Tool holder systems of the type mentioned are known for example from EP-A-0104866. The European patent EP-A-0152374 describes a tool holder in which inserts which hold the individual, differently sized tools are inserted into specially provided recesses in a carrier plate. The carrier plate can be designed as a portable element with three, four or more tool carriers; it can also be designed as the bottom of a drawer or a tool box.

Tool carriers are also known which can be hung in parallel rails of a carrier or in a cabinet (see, for example, the publication EP-A-0104866).
Both known systems have the disadvantage that transport boxes or racks which are especially suitable for this purpose must be used both for storage and for transport to the machine tool.

Hier will die Erfindung Abhilfe schaffen.
The invention seeks to remedy this.
The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a tool holder system for tools with cylindrical and taper shanks of the generic type, in which the tool holder carriers can be set up, transported or stored individually or in groups without the aid of a transport frame.

This object is achieved by the features in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The connecting means attached to the side surfaces of the supports make it possible to connect an essentially arbitrary number of supports to one another, both in series and in planar fashion, so that they can be carried or stored without further aids.
The two guide edges, which run together or parallel at an acute angle, on the side faces of the carriers, together with the connecting element, enable the carriers to be securely connected to one another. The guide edges formed by the corner pillars of the support enable simple and inexpensive production and also save weight and material. The handling of the carrier, which can be very heavy depending on the size of the inserted tools, is made much easier by the rounded edges on the recess formed by the corner pillars.
The pull rod attached to the connecting elements ensures that the beams that are connected to each other cannot come loose.

The tool carrier 1 according to the invention according to FIGS. 1 and 2 essentially consists of a cuboid base 3, the outline of which according to FIG. 2 is preferably rectangular is. In the embodiment shown in the example, the cuboid base body 3 is formed by a tool receiving part 5 and a base part 7, which consists of four corner pillars 9 attached to the underside of the tool receiving part 5. On the side surfaces of the tool carrier 1, the corner pillars 9, the inner edges 11 of which are inclined to the vertical, produce trapezoidal recesses 13 which are open at the bottom. The recesses 13 are identical on all four sides of the tool carrier 1.
The upper surface of the tool receiving part 5 has a recess 15 with a central opening and four peripherally arranged extensions 6 for inserting inserts which can be adapted to the tool shanks, as described, for example, in EP-A-0152374. Instead of the changeable opening 15, which can be adapted to the tools to be stored, a receiving opening with an unchangeable cross section adapted to a specific tool type or an opening for inserting adapters can of course be provided. The formation of the recess in the tool holder part 5 is not the subject of this invention; a detailed description is therefore omitted.
FIGS. 3 and 4 show a connecting element 17 for connecting two tool carriers 1 arranged next to one another. This consists of a trapezoidal plate 19, the sides of which have the same angle of inclination to the vertical as the side edges 11 of the tool carrier 1. Instead of a trapezoidal plate 19, a rectangular one can of course also occur if the edges 11 in the carrier 1 run parallel.
In each of the two side edges 21 and possibly also on the upper edge 27 of the connecting element 17 there is a groove 23, the width b of which corresponds to twice the wall thickness a of the edges 11 of the corner pillars 9. On the upper edge 27 there is also a pull rod 29 provided with a thread 28, the diameter of which can also be greater than the thickness of the plate 19 of the connecting element 17.
In the center of the plate 19 there is an essentially circular recess 25 with peripherally arranged rectangular cutouts 31 is attached, into which a support pin 33 with a congruent cross section to the recess 25 according to FIGS. 5 and 6 can be inserted. The support pin 33 is arranged on a base plate 35, which can have one or more fastening cams 37 on the side facing away from the support pin 33. Fastening holes 39 are also provided on the base plate 35. The tool carrier 1, the connecting element 17 and the support pin 33 are preferably made of plastic.

7, the tool carrier system according to the invention is explained in more detail using the example of storage in a cabinet 47.
Three tool carriers 1 - there may also be more or fewer - are connected in series by connecting elements 17. For this purpose, two connecting elements 17 have been inserted from below into the recesses 13 on the central tool holder 1, which are in contact with the adjacent tool holders 1. The two tool carriers 1 arranged on the outside are then pushed into the connecting elements 17 from above and thereby connected to the central tool carrier 1. The rods 29 attached to the top of the connecting elements 17 come to lie in semicircular indentations 41 in the side surfaces of the tool carrier 1 and slightly protrude beyond the surface of the tool holding part 5 with the threaded section 28. A nut 43 can be screwed onto the thread 28 on the pull rod 29, through which the connecting element 17 is drawn into the recesses 13, so that the two adjacent tool carriers 1 are inseparably connected. This inseparable connection enables two or more carriers 1 to be carried away from a box, a drawer or from the place of use on the machine without the aid of a receiving or transport device.
Advantageously, the upper edge 45 of the recesses 13 is rounded so that the assembled tool carrier 1 can be easily gripped and carried by hand. The tool carrier 1 can of course not only be put together in a row, as shown in FIG. 7, but it can be added to the side of a row of additional tool holders 1 in an analogous manner, for example to a group of six. The tool carriers 1 can be placed on the corner pillars 9 standing on each table top or in drawers and cupboards, or, as shown in an exploded view in FIG. 7, can be hung inclined in a cupboard 47 or a trolley by means of the support pins 33.
In a cabinet or transport trolley 47, of which only the right side wall 48 and the bottom 49 are indicated, a trunnion 33 is fastened to the side with its base plate 35. A connecting element 17 is then pushed onto each of the two trunnions 33, the axes of which are aligned and run horizontally. The connecting elements 17 can be pushed on in such a way that the tool carriers 1 come to lie vertically; but they can also be plugged into the recesses 25 in the plates 19 of the connecting elements 17 by a predetermined angle to the vertical, thanks to the incisions 31 made at regular intervals. The tool carrier 1 pushed onto the connecting elements 17 on the side walls of the cabinet 47 can in this way be attached inclined forward so that the tools inserted therein are easily accessible. The tool carriers 1 can therefore not only be stored in the cabinets 47 without a special receiving device, but can also be removed without a transport device and carried to the machine tool.
The edges 11 formed by the corner pillars 9 for inserting the connecting elements 17 can also consist of guide rails (not shown) which are placed or sprayed on the side surfaces of the cuboids and into which the connecting elements 17 are inserted.
Instead of separate connecting elements 17, two of the side surfaces can be provided on the supports 1 with guide edges 11 and two with correspondingly arranged grooves 23. In this embodiment of the invention, the carriers 1 can be joined together without the interposition of a connecting element 11. To secure the assembled carrier 1 is analogous to the tie rod on the connecting elements 11 on the upper edge 27 of the side surface having the guide edges 11 has a means for preventing the carriers 1 from sliding apart. The fuse can consist of a threaded bolt on which a nut pressing the adjacent carrier 1 down can be placed.

In a further embodiment of the invention according to FIG. 8, the connecting elements 17 can also be designed as spacers 51, which enable two adjacent tool carriers 1 to be connected at a distance c, so that tools whose diameter is larger than the width can also be stored therein of the tool holder parts 5. The connecting element designed as a spacer 51 consists essentially of two connecting elements 17 which are connected to one another by an intermediate piece 53. The intermediate piece 53 can have a fixed length c or consist of two telescoping tubes (inner tube 55 shown in broken lines) so that the distance c can be adjusted.
