Abstract

A rotating cylindrical snow brush (4) on a road maintenance vehicle is suspended on the underside of the vehicle rotatably and vertically pivotably about a horizontal longitudinal axis which is angularly adjustable in relation to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. To avoid damage to the gutter-side bearing (2) of the rotating cylindrical snow brush (4), the bearing (2) is provided with a protective cap (10), the outside of which has an approach cone (11) which converges towards the bearing axis. The protective cap (10) is centrally rotatably mounted on a bearing cover (35) of the bearing (2) of the rotating cylindrical snow brush (4). <IMAGE>

Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kehrwalze gem. Oberbegriff von Patentanspruch 1.The invention relates to a sweeper roller. Preamble of claim 1.

Such a sweeping roller is described in German Patent 35 26 883. Since such sweeping rollers are usually arranged obliquely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle on the underside, the front or rear side of the road service vehicle, a start-up of the gutter-side end of the sweeping roller end projecting slightly beyond the vehicle outline against the gutter edge can often be observed in work. The consequence of this is damage to the associated bearing of the broom and / or the holder by means of which the broom is suspended on the vehicle.

In contrast, the present invention has for its object to reduce the risk of damage to the generic broom when starting against a gutter edge.

This object is achieved in accordance with the characterizing part of patent claim 1. The start-up cone causes the assigned roller end to climb onto the gutter edge as soon as the protective cap hits the edge. The interaction of the starting cone with the holder of the sweeping roller, which can be pivoted vertically about an approximately horizontal axis, is essential. This is the only way to avoid hard impacts and constraints on the end of the sweeper roller towards the gutter. As a result of the rotatable mounting of the protective cap, a sliding start-up movement is avoided. At the moment of starting, the point of contact remains to a certain extent, with the protective cap rotating in accordance with the movement of the vehicle and at the same time the sweeping roller with its holder being raised by the action of the starting cone. Wear of the protective cap due to friction at the edge of the gutter or a comparable obstacle is thereby largely avoided or greatly reduced.

Within the scope of the invention both ends of the sweeping roller can of course also be provided with a protective cap.

With regard to further advantageous embodiments of the proposed invention, reference is made to the subclaims.

Die Schneekehrwalze (4) rotiert, bezogen auf die gezeichnete Ansicht im Uhrzeigersinn gemäß Pfeil P 1, also entgegengesetzt zu Drehung der Fahrzeugräder gemäß Pfeil P 2 bei Vorwärtsfahrt des Fahrzeugs (1).1 and 2 show a road service vehicle with a road salt container (2) on the loading platform (3). The front axle of the vehicle (1) is not shown. One can imagine that a snow plow is attached to the front of the vehicle (1). The snow residue not removed from the snow plow is thrown out of the vehicle area to the side by a snow sweeper roller (4) attached to the underside of the vehicle's wheel axles. A salt spreader (5) connected to the rear of the vehicle (1) ensures an ice-free, non-slip road surface. The snow brush roller (4) rotates clockwise according to arrow P 1 in relation to the drawn view, that is, opposite to the rotation of the vehicle wheels according to arrow P 2 when the vehicle (1) is moving forward.

The snow brush roller (4) is hydraulically driven by means of a hydraulic pump (6) which is flanged to the rear of a gearbox (7) which is driven by a motor PTO (8). A hydraulic motor (9) (Fig.2) for driving the snow roller (4) is placed axially on the left bearing as seen in the direction of travel. The hydraulic motor (9) is driven by the hydraulic pump (6) via a hydraulic connection, not shown.

The snow brush roller (4) is rotatably mounted in a frame made of lateral bearing arms (13) and a cross bar (14) connecting them. A U-bracket (15) made of box sections is welded to the cross member (14) and is pivotably suspended about a horizontal axis (16) for raising or lowering the snow roller (4). In Fig. 1 the snow roller (4) is shown in the lowered position; their raised position is indicated by the dash-dotted line (17). Two hydraulic cylinders (18), which are on the one hand on the cross bar (14) and on the other hand on a support, are used to raise or lower the snow brush roller (4) arm (19) of a vehicle-side suspension device is articulated. This suspension device comprises brackets (20) which are fixed to the vehicle and are flanged to the opposite longitudinal frame supports (21) of the vehicle (1). Holding struts (23) for a vertical pivot bearing (24) are fastened to the brackets (20) by means of a fastening flange (22).

Gem. Fig. 2 ist die Schneekehrwalze (4) in Draufsicht auf das Fahrzeug (1) mit Darstellung der wesentlichen Fahrzeugumrisse in der rechten Schwenklage gezeichnet, wobei ein Schwenkzylinder (30) ausgefahren ist.2, the snow brush roller (4) is drawn in a top view of the vehicle (1) with a representation of the essential vehicle outline in the right swivel position, with a swivel cylinder (30) being extended.

The right end of the snow-sweeping roller (4) seen in the direction of travel is moved parallel to the gutter edge (25) of the roadway to be cleared when the vehicle is in use, as shown in FIG. 2. The corresponding bearing of the snow brush roller (4) is covered on the outside by a protective edge (10) placed axially on the bearing and on which a starting cone (11) is formed.

In Fig. 3, the protective cap (10) is shown enlarged, in a position in which the starting cone (11) provided on the protective cap (10) just touches the gutter cap (25), ie sits on it. The associated bearing (12) of the broom roller sits in the bearing arm (13); the inner bearing ring is seated on a bearing pin (26) which is rotatably received in the center of the shaft (27) of the snow brush roller (4) equipped with bristle tufts (28).

In Fig. 4, the point of contact between the starting cone (11) and the gutter edge (25) is indicated by a mark (29). Characterized in that the protective cap (10) is rotatably mounted, it moves up to the gutter edge (25) with the starting cone (11), the entire snow roller (4) being raised by the amount H via the lever arm (30). In this way, damage to the end of the snow brush roller (4) associated with the gutter edge is largely avoided. The rotatable mounting of the protective cap (10) also largely prevents abrasion between it and the gutter edge. The outline of the snow brush (4) is indicated by a dash-dotted line (31).

Fig. 5 shows an enlarged view of an axial section through the gutter-side bearing (12) of the snow roller, which is flanged by means of screws (32) in the bearing arm (13). The bearing pin (26) is rotatably received in the bearing (12) via a roller bearing (34); a sealing ring (33) prevents water, salt, dirt, etc. from entering the rolling bearing (34). On the outside of the bearing arm (13), a bearing cover (35) is also fastened by means of the screws (32), on which a hub (36) is formed in the center of the bearing axis. The protective cap (10) is rotatably mounted on the hub (36) by means of a ball bearing (41). The protective cap (10) is formed in two parts from an outer ring (37) and an insert ring (40). The outer ring (37) overlaps the bearing cover (35) both radially and axially. In the area of the axial overlap, a sealing ring (38) is provided, which seals the bearing point against the ingress of water and salt. With the The outer ring (37) of the protective cap (10) is connected to the insert ring (40) by means of the screws (39). The insert ring (40) is also seated on the ball bearing (41) and is on its inner circumference by means of a further sealing ring (42) opposite the Sealed hub (36). Thus, the outer ring (37) and the insert ring (40) together form the starting cone (11), the function of which is described above.
