Das Kupplungssystem ist zwar für alle Arten der Axialverschiebung von Walzen in Walzgerüsten verwendbar, insbesondere aber für nicht angetriebene Walzen. Darüberhinaus kann die Kupplung bei angetriebenen Walzen eingesetzt werden, wobei die Welle für die Axiallager dann als Hohlwelle ausgebildet ist. Die Zuleitung (32) befindet sich in dieser Ausführungsform im Deckel (33) des Klemmkopfes (10). Zwischen Klemmkopf (10) und Hohlzylinder (16) ist ferner die axial vorgespannte Druckfeder (13) angeordnet, bestehend aus fünf Tellerfedern, die auf die den Walzenzapfen (8) umgebenden Klemmkörper bzw. die Spannscheiben (14) einwirken und die längsgeschlitzte Spannhülse bzw. Büchse (15) mit dem Walzenzapfen (8) verklemmen. Die Büchse (15) hat an einem Ende einen Ringflansch (17), der mit dem Klemmkopf (10) fest verschraubt ist. Die Spannscheiben (14) werden (wie bei Fig. 1 beschrieben) mittels hydraulischem Druckmittel entgegen der Wirkung der Druckfeder (13) aus ihrer Klemmposition gelöst. Die Spannscheiben (14) stützen sich am Deckel (33) des Klemmkopfes (10) ab und sind über den axial verschiebbaren Hohlzylinder (16) bzw. eine dazwischen angeordnete gehärtete Scheibe (34) mit der Druckfeder (13) verspannt, die sich über die gehärtete Scheibe (35) am Klemmkopf (10) abstützt.
