Description
The invention relates to a cleaning device provided with a handle-like, hollow handpiece, for cleaning in particular window panes, with an exchangeable, approximately strip-shaped cleaning tool, which is held between two relatively adjustable clamping jaws, one of which has a jaw with an extension with the handpiece by means of a Joint screw is connected.
Such cleaning devices, which can be used with their handpiece in a preferably telescopic handle bar and whose jaws can be pivoted with the cleaning tool, are known. The clamping jaws are arranged at right angles to the handpiece or the handlebar in the event that the person handling the device is in front of the window pane to be cleaned. In this case, the person handling the device can rationally clean the window pane in lanes from top to bottom. If, on the other hand, the person handling the device is forced to relate its location laterally to the window pane to be cleaned, the oblique position of the handpiece or the handle bar, forced by the location, allows the jaws to be set at an angle to the former the window glass can also be cleaned in lanes from top to bottom. In the known cleaning devices, the clamping jaws can be clamped to a certain degree in the respective angular position with the cleaning tool by means of the hinge screw. However, the clamping is not sufficient to avoid unintentional displacement of the clamping jaws when cleaning the window pane.
In contrast, the invention has for its object to further develop a cleaning device of the type mentioned so that the clamping jaws with the cleaning tool in the respectively set position to the handle or the handle bar can be easily determined so that unintentional displacement of the jaws with certainty is avoided.
The solution to the problem is according to the invention that the extension of the one jaw is articulated to an extension of the handpiece and has on its broad side facing away from the extension a curved, relatively coarse toothing, which in a known manner with a guided in the handpiece as Slide trained, spring-loaded locking lever is in operative connection.
To lock the clamping jaws, the locking lever is pushed out of the front open end of the grip piece against the effect of the compression spring loading the locking lever by sliding pressure on its handle and is locked into a tooth gap of the coarse toothing corresponding to the position of the clamping jaws relative to the handpiece, in which it loosens when the grip decreases Pressure on the handle is secured in the locked position. The jaws with the cleaning body are thereby secured against unintentional movement while cleaning the window pane.
An advantageous development of the invention is that the teeth of the toothing have fine toothing on their blunt faces and the locking lever has a tooth-like projection at its front end with which it is in operative connection with the fine toothing.
In the event that it is not possible to lock the clamping jaws in the set position by means of the coarse toothing, the locking takes place with the help of the fine toothing.
- FIG. 1 shows the cleaning device without cleaning tool in a rear view, partially torn open,
- Figure 2 shows a section along the line AA of Figure 1 and
- Figure 3 shows the two jaws with cleaning tool in side view.
The cleaning device consists of a head 1, which is composed of two clamping jaws 2, 3. The clamping jaw 3 is connected to the clamping jaw 2 by means of screws 4 which pass through the clamping jaw 3 with play. Nuts 5, which secure the clamping jaw 3 on the screws 4, are screwed onto the threaded ends of the screws 4. The jaw 3 has at the rear end a resilient bend 6, which is supported on one side of the jaw 2. After loosening the nuts 5 the jaw 3 is pushed by the action of the previously tensioned and now relaxing bend 6 so far from the jaw 2 that the cleaning tool can be easily replaced. The turn 6 is not absolutely necessary and can also be omitted. 7 with an interchangeable cleaning tool in the form of a scraper made of rubber-elastic material, which is used in a socket 8 U-shaped cross section. The cleaning tool 7 is held with its socket 8 between the clamping jaws 2, 3 (FIG. 3). 9 with a handpiece is designated, which has at the front end with the handpiece 9 a
On the broad side of the
The clamping jaws 2, 3 of the cleaning device are usually arranged at right angles to the handpiece 9. To change the angular position of the clamping jaws 2, 3 or the cleaning tool 7 relative to the handpiece 9, the locking lever 2o is disengaged from the
