Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure cap for closing a container mouth according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • closure caps have a guarantee function in that a first removal of the closure cap is indicated by tearing off the guarantee band.
  • the type mentioned are so-called mechanical guarantee bands, which automatically snap under the bulge at the bottle mouth when screwed on for the first time.
  • a problem with the guarantee bands provided with spring-back tongues is that the axial force component when opening them can become so large that the tongues spring back when unscrewed and slide over the bead again, so that the guarantee band does not tear off.
  • the caps are usually made of thermoplastic material by injection molding, whereby the material properties can change significantly depending on the ambient temperature.
  • the tongues can have a much greater flexibility in summer temperatures, which impairs their locking function.
  • a too massive formation of the tongues is not possible, since this would cause the guarantee band to stretch too much when the container mouth is closed for the first time.
  • US Pat. No. 4,550,843 and US Pat. No. 4,635,808 disclose comparable sealing caps in which the tongues can be supported on an underlying circumferential bead when the cap is opened, thus increasing the tear resistance.
  • the circumferential support bead below the tongues leads to a massive reinforcement of the guarantee band and thus to poor extensibility in the circumferential direction. This makes it difficult to put the screw cap on the bottle mouth for the first time.
  • the known screw caps are also rather disadvantageous with regard to the production technology, since the combination of tongues / support bead can only be removed from the mold with complex, radially opening slide tools.
  • This object is achieved according to the invention with a closure cap which has the features of patent claim 1.
  • the support cams under the tongues practically do not hinder the installation process, since the guarantee band can be stretched to a limited extent when it is first put on.
  • the tongues can be freely bent back upwards until they spring back under the bulge and thus reach under the bulge.
  • the cams support the tongues on their lower flanks, so that bending back down is only possible to a limited extent.
  • the forces acting in the axial direction increase in such a way that the guarantee band tears off before the guarantee band could slide over the bulge at the container mouth due to overstretching.
  • the latching action of the tongues can be increased further by a latching edge being arranged on the inside of the guarantee band approximately in the plane of the tongues.
  • this locking edge which is designed as a taper of the inside diameter, the tear-off forces can be adapted exactly to the respective conditions.
  • the guarantee band slides particularly easily over the bead on the container mouth when the support cams taper towards the lower edge of the guarantee band.
  • the support cams are arranged at a distance from the tongues, the flexibility of the tongues which is desired per se is in no way impaired when it is first put on.
  • the tongues are particularly advantageously designed such that they protrude inward in the radial direction beyond the support cams. In this way, the locking function of the tongues is increased, since in extreme cases the tongues wrap around the outer edges of the support cams and thus bring about a substantial reduction in diameter.
  • the tongues are advantageously arranged between the predetermined breaking bars.
  • the predetermined breaking bars are not subjected to excessive force when the cap is put on for the first time, since the guarantee band can expand radially better.
  • the guarantee band could also be connected to the lower edge of the cap via a thin material film.
  • a vertical predetermined breaking point is advantageously arranged on the guarantee band, so that the guarantee band does not remain under the bead on the bottle mouth after tearing off.
  • the tear-off process can be controlled particularly optimally if a tongue is arranged closer to the vertical predetermined breaking point in the unscrewing direction than in the unscrewing direction.
  • a closure cap 1 consists of a cap base 11 and a cylindrical cap side wall 12, which is provided with an internal thread 13.
  • Various mouth seals 14 can be arranged on the cap base or in the transition region between the cap base and the side wall of the cap.
  • a guarantee band 3 is arranged, which is connected to the cap via predetermined breaking webs 9.
  • the closure cap does not necessarily have to be a screw cap. A so-called snap lock could also be provided with a guarantee tape according to the invention.
  • tongues 6 projecting inwards are arranged on the inner wall 5 of the guarantee band at certain intervals.
  • the tongues taper slightly in cross-section towards their outer end and are inclined slightly downwards, which means that the demolding from an axially opening Tool is facilitated.
  • a support cam 7 is arranged at a certain distance, which tapers downwards.
  • Each support cam extends approximately the entire length of a tongue, but has an approximately crescent-shaped configuration when viewed from above.
  • a locking edge 8 runs over the entire circumference, which is designed as a tapering of the diameter of the inner wall 5. The locking edge improves the retention effect of the tongues 6.
  • the tongues do not have to be distributed over the circumference at regular intervals.
  • a vertical predetermined breaking point 10 is additionally provided on the guarantee band, it may be expedient to arrange the tongues at different distances.
  • a tongue 6a is provided in FIG. 2, which is closer to the vertical predetermined breaking point 10 in the unscrewing direction A than the tongue 6b in the unscrewing direction B.
  • no support cam 7 is provided on the tongue 6b, so that this tongue can bend back more than the other tongues .
  • the tongues with support cams are distributed over a section of 180 °, the tongue 6c being arranged approximately diametrically opposite the vertical predetermined breaking point 10.
  • an axially extending rim 15 can be provided on the outside, as it usually also has the cap side wall 12.
  • FIG. 3 shows the position of a tongue 6 when the closure cap is screwed on for the first time, the guarantee band 3 being pushed downward in the direction of the arrow C against the bead 4 at the container mouth 2.
  • container mouths are standardized in particular for bottles for soft drinks, so that they are always the same Dimensions and tolerances can be found.
  • the inside diameter of the guarantee band and the length of the tongues are dimensioned in such a way that the guarantee band can be pushed over the bead 4 with a slight stretch in the circumference without destroying the predetermined breaking webs 9.
  • FIG. 6 shows the position of the tongues when a force component acts on the guarantee band in the direction of arrow D when the closure cap is removed for the first time.
  • the tongues have the tendency to bend back downward, but are supported by the support cams 7. Overcoming the bead 4 would obviously only be possible by excessive stretching of the guarantee band, since the tongues are blocked towards the bottom.
  • the predetermined breaking webs 9 tear, as shown in FIG. 6.
  • the guarantee band is preferably connected to the lower edge of the cap via a single, reinforced growth web, so that it can be completely removed from the mouth of the container after the vertical predetermined breaking point has torn.
