Description

The invention relates to a winding device with a binding unit for cables, hoses or the like, which are wound on a winding head, in which a strapping band is guided in a strapping channel around the ring-shaped winding material to be set and a channel section of the strapping channel is mounted in the winding core of the winding head. which connects to the remaining strapping channel running outside the winding head during strapping.

From DE-OS 34 38 179 a winding device is known with which cables, hoses or the like can be wound on a winding head to form a ring comprising a plurality of winding layers. After winding, the material to be wound is tied with a strapping band so that the finished rings can be handled without any problems.

From DE-OS 34 38 177 a tying unit is known which uses a strapping channel which is pushed through the core of the winding head for tying. The strapping tape is introduced into the channel by a tape feed device and is guided around the material to be wound into a ring. Then the strapping is held at its end and pulled back by the strap feed device, whereby the strap fits tightly around the material to be wound. The strapping is then welded and cut.

The known tying unit has the disadvantage that the strapping channel to be passed through the winding core requires a correspondingly large winding core, since otherwise the strapping channel could no longer be guided past the winding head bearings or the winding head drive unit. It is therefore not possible to use winding heads with particularly small winding cores with the known tying unit.

Another known possibility (BE-A-863 956) provides a guide for the strapping band on the winding head, which in the operating state connects to the ends of two band guides arranged outside the winding head, but these band guides are only along the side flanges of the winding head. An exact guidance of the strapping around the winding head is not possible in this way, the quality of the binding basically depends on the properties of the band itself and the setting speed.

Starting from the last-mentioned prior art, the invention is based on the one hand to provide a winding device with a binding unit that no longer has to be passed laterally through the winding core, and on the other hand to ensure that high setting speeds are achieved without impairing the quality.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that one of the channel sections adjoining the straight channel section arranged in the winding head is an L-shaped channel section which guides the strapping around the winding head and introduces it into the other channel section running along a side flange. The L-shaped channel section ensures that the strapping is easily passed through the entire strapping channel and is precisely fed to the connection point even at high setting speeds.

A preferred embodiment provides that a plurality of channel sections arranged in the winding core at equal angular intervals are provided. A winding core designed in this way can thus be connected to the external strapping channel in four different positions, as a result of which unnecessarily large angular rotations are avoided when positioning the winding head. This measure contributes in particular to a fast and therefore efficient way of working.

In order to make it easier to adapt the internal channel section to the external channel sections, it is particularly advantageous to slightly widen the channel sections arranged in the winding head at their ends. The channel sections, which are U-shaped in profile and face the winding material to be strapped with their open side, can also have slightly inclined side walls so that the strapping is securely held in the strapping channel. At high processing speeds, however, such an inclination of the inner walls is not necessary because the strapping band is pressed against the base of the strapping channel due to the considerable displacement speed.

In order to monitor the strapping process, the feed length of the inserted strapping band can be determined and the distance traveled by the band during the tensioning can be deducted therefrom. If a difference occurs that is equal to or approximately equal to zero, this means that strapping has not taken place and the strapping process can then be repeated. For this purpose, the transport rollers provided for the transport of the strapping band can be connected to a counter which monitors the rotation of the transport rollers.

In the conventional arrangement of a binding unit shown in FIG. 1, a C-shaped strapping channel 1 is pushed through the winding core 2 into the position shown here in the direction of the arrow a. Adjacent channel sections 3, 4 adjoin the strapping channel 1, so that a strapping band 7 fed by means of two transport rollers 5, 6 is guided around the winding material 9 stored on a winding head 8. The winding head 8, which is shown here only schematically and only in the upper region, is set in rotation via a drive shaft 10 for winding the winding material 9.

Figure 1 shows a clamping element 11 and a knife 12 and an ultrasonic element 13. The clamping element 11 holds the end of the strapping 7, so that the transport rollers 5, 6 can tighten the strapping 7 by reversing the direction, whereby this tightly around the winding 9th laying around. After the strapping band 7 is welded by means of the ultrasound element, the band can be cut off by means of the knife 12.

Zum Abwerfen des aufgewickelten Wickelguts 9 wird der rechte Seitenflansch 17 soweit abgezogen, daß genügend Platz zum Abwerfen des Wickelgutes ist.FIG. 2 shows a conventional winding head 8, the winding core 2 of which is formed by a plurality of pivotably attached segments 14. During the winding process, the segments 14 are in their outer position 15. The segments 14 only become Throw the finished strapped winding material 9 pivoted inwards. In FIG. 2, only the left side bottle 16 of the winding head 8 is shown in section, while the right side flange 17 is only indicated by a broken line. To eject the wound material 9, the right side flange 17 is pulled off so far that there is enough space to eject the material to be wound.

In the winding head shown in FIG. 3 there are four channel sections 20, which are arranged in a star shape, within the winding core 18, which is enclosed by four segments 19. The U-shaped channels 21 are slightly widened on their end faces. The channel sections 20 are connected to the winding core axis 23 via spacer elements 22.

Der Kanalgrund erhält dadurch in diesem Bereich eine nach unten geneigte Fläche 26, 27.FIG. 4 shows the partial view "X" (FIG. 3) of the channel sections 20. The channel section 20m is shown in section and has on its upper side the channel 21 running over its entire length. On the end faces 24, 25, the channel 21 is widened slightly in a funnel shape. As a result, the channel base receives a downwardly inclined surface 26, 27 in this area.

In Figure 4, the left side flange 28 (Figure 3) is only partially shown. A flange 29 formed on the winding head axis 23 is used for connection to a drive shaft, not shown here.

In Figur 5 wird der grundsätzliche Aufbau eines dreiteilig ausgebildeten Umreifungskanals 1 angegeben, der aus einem innerhalb des Wickelkerns 18 angeordneten Kanalabschnitt 20, einem L-förmigen zweiten Kanalabschnitt 30 und einem entlang einem Seitenflansch 31 entlanggeführten weiteren Kanalabschnitt 32 besteht.5 shows the basic structure of a three-part strapping channel 1, which consists of a channel section 20 arranged within the winding core 18, an L-shaped second channel section 30 and a further channel section 32 running along a side flange 31.

The course of the strapping 7 is shown with broken lines. The winding head 33 is drawn in a greatly simplified manner.
