Description

The invention relates to a piece of furniture with spring-loaded, coupled backrest-seat adjustment, the seat and backrest of which are fastened to a support, the support being connected to a support arm connected to a standpipe, on which the seat is mounted so that it can be swiveled up and down, and a fixed to the Backrest and back support connected to the support arm via a sliding pivot bearing, the sliding pivot bearing having on the one hand a guide slot or similar guide members and on the other hand a guide element engaging therein.

CH-A 659 179. Seating furniture with such backrest-seat adjustment mechanisms are known, see e.g. CH-A 659 179. Gas pressure springs are used for the adjustment, which guide the chair parts into the desired position when the locking mechanism is released. The return movement is damped due to the use of these gas pressure springs. However, it has been found that gas pressure springs do not always have the desired reliability, above all because of wear and tear during prolonged use. For this reason, it is desirable to use "normal compression or tension springs". Here, however, there is a risk that when the locking mechanism is triggered, the backrest will snap forward from a rear position and hit the back of the user.

It is therefore the task of creating a piece of seating furniture of the type mentioned at the outset which has a locking mechanism with which the seat and / or backrest of the seating furniture can be fixed in different positions and which, at the same time, has the possibility, despite maintaining the system described above, of coupled backrests. Seat adjustment without using gas springs to achieve a soft adjustment, d. H. to prevent the backrest from jumping forward from a rear position.

The solution to the problem is, in particular, that the displaceable guide element is connected to a first latching part and the support arm to a second latching part of a latching device and that latching projections or latching recesses of the latching parts are oriented transversely to the direction of displacement and have stop surfaces acting in the direction of displacement, which are suitable for a the locking device locking adhesive tension of the stop surfaces 15 are formed when the seat is unloaded or only loaded from the front and at the same time the back is unloaded.

Due to this construction, the stop surfaces of the two latching parts are pressed so strongly against one another by the restoring force of the spring when the seat is relieved or only relieved from the front and the back is relieved that the two latching parts can no longer disengage. The backrest, which is firmly connected to the sliding rotary bearing, and thus the entire coupled backrest-seat adjustment mechanism are practically blocked. Only a significant reduction in the locking adhesive tension forces due to the seat or backrest pressure enables disengagement of the latching parts and thus a change in the backrest-seat adjustment. This results in the advantage that the backrest flies forward and thus also a possible impairment of the user of the seating furniture even when using simple springs, i.e. is excluded if gas pressure springs are not used. This combines the advantage of the reliability of conventional springs with essential functional advantages of the gas pressure springs, without the disadvantages of which would have to be accepted.

A system with normal springs is also known from EP 0 001 846 B1, in which an adjustment is only possible when the backrest is loaded. However, this system is practically not applicable to seating according to the application, inter alia because of the space requirements to be observed here.

In addition, the solution according to the invention is a blocking process based on another principle. The adhesive friction connection gives the advantage of a "soft solution" of the locking mechanism compared to the known construction. This is because the locking parts do not have to be guided past barb elements, as in the construction described above. The risk of undesired hooking of the locking elements is thus excluded from the outset.

If the first locking part connected to the displaceable guide element is designed as a comb-like locking element, in particular with a number of recesses corresponding to at least the number of intermediate positions, it is sufficient if the second locking part is a locking lever rotatably mounted on the support arm with at least one locking projection in it Locking element can be snapped in and if the stop surfaces of the locking points of the locking comb and locking lever with a seat that is relieved or only loaded from the front and at the same time relieved of the backrest by the seat return spring (s) lie against one another in such a way that the static friction forces are greater than the force required to unlock the locking lever. A major advantage of this construction is its great simplicity. In contrast to a conventional latching mechanism, which is also used in previous seating furniture of the type mentioned at the outset, the latching parts are skillfully loaded transversely to the disengaging direction in such a way that they jam each other solely due to the static friction. In this way, an effect which is undesirable per se in latching devices is used in an astounding manner for the problem solution sought here. No additional tensioning elements are necessary because the tensioning forces are applied by the seat return spring, which is already present anyway.

The realization of the locking condition that the blocking force caused by the static friction must be greater than the force required for unlocking the locking lever can be achieved in a simple manner without any design effort in that the stop surfaces of the detent le run approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the guide slot or the like. Since the seat return spring acts in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the guide slot, the latching parts are pressed against one another perpendicular to this force in this embodiment of the invention. This avoids mutual displacement forces caused by the seat return spring, which could cause the locking points to slide apart. The force of the seat return spring is thus effective for the static friction loss.

In a further embodiment of the invention, it proves to be advantageous if the locking lever is spring-loaded in the disengaging direction and can be engaged and locked against the spring force by means of an operating mechanism. If the operating mechanism with the locking position also has a release position in which the force from the spring acting on the locking lever is greater than the force opposing this force from the adhesive connections of the locking point stop surfaces, the locking lever is released from the locking comb by the spring acting on it raised so that this locking comb and thus also the adjustment mechanism are free and the sitting position can now be adjusted as desired. The force from the spring acting on the locking lever only increases when the forces opposing this force from the static friction connections of the locking point stop surfaces are compensated by a seat or backrest load. A new locking of the now changed seating position is brought about in that the locking lever is brought back into engagement position by an external operating mechanism and is also held in this position by the operating mechanism. If the operating mechanism is brought into the release position, the above-described locking of the static friction connection of the locking point stop surfaces acts until a load is placed on the seat or backrest.

A simple and safe connection to the operating mechanism can be achieved in that the locking lever is angled in the area of its storage in such a way that one leg has at least one locking projection and the other leg is connected to a rod, the other end of which is connected to the operating mechanism. By pressing on the rod, the locking lever is rotated around its mounting in such a way that the locking projection or the locking projections engage in the locking points of the displacement element. In this way, the adjustment mechanism is blocked using the operating mechanism.

It proves to be useful if a spring, in particular a compression spring, is provided between the operating mechanism and the rod for actuation transmission and if the compression spring mounted on the rod rests against a stop collar of the rod and the actuating element of the operating mechanism engages at the other end of the spring . This is because the seat backrest adjustment is determined in the released position of the operating mechanism and with the sliding element released by the seating position assumed on the chair and maintained against the return spring. If the seat or the backrest are now to be locked in a desired position, the locking points of the locking comb or locking lever must interlock for this purpose. If the locking projections or bulges do not fit each other in a fitting manner, the operating mechanism could not be brought into the locking position due to a rigid connection to the locking lever. Due to the compression spring provided, the locking position can now be selected immediately after reaching the desired sitting position without paying attention to a possibly existing "tooth-on-tooth position" of the locking mechanism. When moving slightly from the seated position, the locking lever now automatically engages in the nearest rest area without the risk that the backrest will jump forward in an undesirable manner and the seat position will be changed uncontrollably.

The simplicity of the construction, which is also expressed in the embodiments described, and which makes do with very few additional structural elements, allows the entire latching device to be arranged in disguise within the support. The fact that gas springs are not used does not compromise the aesthetic design of the seating. This is precisely where an advantage of the solution according to the invention over the known constructions lies.

The invention is described in more detail below with the details that are essential to it using an exemplary embodiment and the drawing.

Fig. 1 shows the side view of a swivel chair, designated as a whole by 1, with spring-loaded, coupled backrest seat adjustment, the seat 2 and backrest 3 of which are attached to a support 4, the support 4 being a support arm 6 connected to a standpipe 5, on which the Seat 2 is pivotally mounted and pivoted, and has a back support 8 firmly connected to the backrest 3 and the support arm 6 via a sliding pivot bearing 7. The sliding pivot bearing 7 has, as can be seen in FIG. 2, a guide slot 9 and a guide engaging therein tion element 10. The displaceable guide element 10 is connected to a first latching part 11 and the support arm 6 to a second latching part 12 of a latching device, the latching projections 13 or latching recesses 14 of the latching parts 11, 12 being oriented transversely to the direction of displacement and acting in the direction of displacement Have stop surfaces 15.

In the exemplary embodiment, the first latching part 11 is designed as a latching comb 32, in particular with a number of recesses corresponding to at least the number of intermediate positions. The second locking part 12 is provided as a locking lever 30 rotatably mounted on the support arm with two locking projections 13, which are in the locking position in the illustrated embodiment.

On the axis 16 of the mounting of the locking lever 30 in the support arm 6, a spring 17 can be seen which, supported on an abutment 18, acts on the locking lever via a leg 19 in the disengaging direction. If no pressure is exerted on the leg 19 in the unlocked position via a rod 20, the force of the spring 17 essentially acts on the locking lever 30. In the unloaded seating position, the locking lever 30 remains in a toothed position, since the one in the drawing is not further Seat return spring shown exerts a displacement pressure in the direction of the guide slot, through which the stop surfaces 15 of the locking lever and locking comb are pressed against one another in a friction-locked manner. The spring 17 or the size of the stop surfaces 15 are dimensioned such that in this case the force necessary to overcome the static friction forces is not achieved.

However, if at least part of the force of the seat return spring acting in the direction of displacement is compensated by the body counter pressure due to seat or backrest loading, the latching connection is released, so that the seat backrest adjustment mechanism is free. Thus, the seat back restoring force is used in a structurally simple manner to prevent undesired rushing of the backrest in the absence of spring damping means.

In order to create a sufficient frictional connection between the stop surfaces 15 and the locking projections 13, these run in the region of their flanks perpendicular to the direction of displacement, i. H. perpendicular to the longitudinal extent of the guide slot 9. Slipping out of the locking projections 13 from the locking recesses 14 by the displacement pressure of the seat return spring is thus avoided. The arrangement of locking comb 32 and locking lever 30 shown in FIG. 2 is not the only possible embodiment of the invention. B. possible to form the locking lever 30 as a locking comb, wherein the guide member 10 may have locking projections. Likewise, the number of adjustable locking positions as well as the displacement path can be designed differently depending on requirements. In addition to a static friction connection between the contact surfaces, for. B. also a latching or snagging of the contact surface by corresponding projections or bulges in the contact surfaces 15 possible.

In order to bring the locking lever 30 out of its release position into the detent position and thus also to lock the backrest or the seat in the desired position, an operating mechanism 21 (cf. for example Pat. DE-33 34 424 A1) is used to move the lever the rod 20 is pressed against the force of the spring 17 in the direction indicated by the arrow.

The rigidly connected to the leg 19 locking lever 12 is thus forcibly brought into the latching position in order to be able to bring the operating mechanism 21 into the locking position independently of the position of the latching projections 13 relative to the latching recesses 14, the rod 20 is provided with a compression spring 23 which is attached to abuts a stop collar 24 of the push rod and engages the lever 22 of the operating mechanism at the other end thereof. In the position "tooth-on-tooth" of the locking mechanism, the spring 23 is pressed by the lever 22 against the stop collar 24, so that the locking device with little seat back or seat adjustment, by slight changes in the, by the pressure thus built up on the rod 20 Seated position caused, snaps into the nearest rest area. The appropriate locking position does not need to be scanned with the help of the operating mechanism. The mechanism shown automatically searches for the right resting point.

In summary:
  • The seat only reacts in the desired manner to the setting of the operating mechanism to the 'seat adjustment' position when the seat load leads to a sufficient reduction in the clamping tension of the latching device due to the lever relationships of the support bearing. This is particularly the case when the seat is loaded centrally and / or the backrest is leaned in the leaning direction. A load on the front edge of the seat alone is not sufficient. A possible impairment or endangerment of the seated or other people by an unwanted rushing forward of the backrest is practically excluded.

Fig. 1.Since the entire mechanism described here can be kept very small due to its advantageously constructed structure, it is possible to accommodate the entire locking device within the support 4 cf. Fig. 1.

Die längs des Verschiebeweges verlaufenden Innenlängsseiten dieses Schlitzes 26 sind mit einer Zahnung 27 als Rastprofilierung versehen.FIGS. 4 and 5 also show a modified embodiment of a latching device according to the invention. The displaceable guide element 10 has a plate 25 with a slot 26 oriented in the direction of displacement as the latching part 11. The inner longitudinal sides of this slot 26, which run along the displacement path, are provided with teeth 27 as a locking profile.

The second latching part 12 located on the locking lever 30 has on its outer sides a counter-toothing 28 which matches the toothing 27, this latching part extending over some tooth regions in the direction of displacement. The thickness of that Only plate 25 forming locking part 11 in the exemplary embodiment, as can be seen in FIG. 4, is a few millimeters, the depth of engagement of the second locking part 12 also corresponding approximately to this plate thickness. A very short actuation travel or working stroke is thus obtained and nevertheless a secure adhesive frictional bracing, which avoids loosening of the latching device when the seat is not under load.

The number of interlocking teeth 27, 28 can be varied in accordance with the friction force required for this, the fineness of the teeth also playing a role. As a result, even with very fine toothing and a correspondingly fine adjustment option, e.g. B. by increasing the number of interlocking teeth, the required static friction can be achieved.
