Claims (3)

1. Equipment for apparatus handling loads disposed on shelves on either side of a gangway, the equipment comprising a load-carrying tray (30) and a transfer device displacing a load (60) along the tray, said transfer device including two flexible mechanical connections (46) placed on either side of the tray (30), with each of the connections having catches (49, 50) disposed thereon, the equipment being characterized in that a portion of the tray (30) is brought beneath a load (60), said portion then being raised and returned to the gangway, the catches (49, 50) which are situated beneath the tray while the load is being grasped or delivered, urge the load from one end of the tray to the other when the load is to be delivered from the side opposite to that from which it was grasped.
2. Equipment according to claim 1, characterized in that the two mechanical connections (46) are mounted on two shafts (44, 48), at least one of which (44) is. motorized.
3. Equipment according to any preceding claim, characterized in that it includes a carriage (20) for driving the tray (30) longitudinally, said carriage being provided with two shafts (25), with four pinions (23, 24) being mounted thereon and engaging two racks (26) fixed beneath the tray.
