Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for forming portions or stacks having a predeterminable weight from sliced food products, in particular sausage, ham, bacon, meat, cheese and the like, in which, depending on the desired target weight of the respective portion or the respective stack of the product piece to be sliced Number of slices or pieces separated, the stack or a corresponding portion having a certain slice or piece weight is weighed and the feed of the product piece to be cut is changed depending on the measurement result.
- the invention is also directed to a device for carrying out this method.
- the object of the present invention is to create a method of the type mentioned at the outset which makes it possible, at least substantially, for the accuracy of the target weight of the respective portion or of the respective stack to increase, in particular to achieve this target weight as exactly as possible, without affecting the working speed when forming portions or stacks.
- This object is achieved according to the invention essentially in that the actual weight is already detected during the portion or stack formation and the feed of the respective product piece is changed as a function of the deviation of the actual weight from the associated target weight.
- the immediate recording of the actual weight during the slicing process creates the prerequisites for corrective intervention during the portion or stack formation process and for the required target weight to be achieved exactly or at least so precisely that the required target weight is achieved by changing the feed of the product piece to be sliced any remaining deviation from the target weight is completely irrelevant in practice.
- Each target weight is preferably assigned a specific number of discs and the target and actual weight comparison of the disc tray is carried out discontinuously. It can be freely chosen whether the target and actual weight comparison is carried out after each individual disc has been deposited or whether such a comparison is carried out after several individual discs have been deposited. With this selection, the respective product and the desired degree of accuracy can be taken into account.
- the current actual weight can also be recorded continuously and with an empirically determined or arithmetically determined the portion or stack formation corresponding target weight increase are compared.
- care is taken to filter out brief weight fluctuations which occur during the actual weight measurement and which result from the movement or impact effects of the individual disks.
- This filtering can take place both via analog electrical circuits and via an appropriate computer program. Since it is possible to determine the respective actual weight within a very short sampling period, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the weight sampling time is set so that the settling or overshoot effect of the scales that occurs after each disk comes out is sufficient has subsided and of course the following disc has not yet been encountered.
- the feed and thus the individual slice thickness can be changed depending on the deviation of the current actual weight extrapolated up to the stack target weight, which enables a smooth correction and minimizes the changes in movement in the feed.
- the deviation from the target weight that is found within a stack formation and at least partially compensated for during this stack formation is taken into account at the beginning of the subsequent new stack formation, i.e. the learning effect resulting from one stack formation is exploited during the next stack formation.
- an immediate lower one Return stroke is carried out in order to enable at least one empty cut, which does not lead to any separation of chips and the like, as would normally be expected without this return stroke movement due to the elasticity and relaxation of the product.
- This return stroke can be brought about in that either the entire feed device or parts thereof, together with the respective product, are or are set back with respect to the cutting plane.
- a device for carrying out the method according to the invention comprises a cutting device, a device for feeding the respective product and a weighing device, and is characterized in that the weighing device consists of an electronic device, which is directly loaded with the separated slices or pieces, mechanically from the cutting device separate and vibrationally decoupled from this cutting device, the output signals of which are fed to a computer, the product feed being controlled by computer signals which are obtained as a result of a plurality of target and actual weight comparisons.
- An endless conveyor belt forming a component of the scale is preferably arranged on the scale, which can be accelerated very quickly for the further transport of a deposited stack, but can also be driven very slowly in the opposite direction and without influencing the weighing process in order to form an exact stack instead of a shingle aligned to allow superimposed discs.
- the scale is automatically re-tared after every acceleration to avoid errors to exclude any remaining particles that may have remained on the endless belt.
- Products to be sliced can also be fed to the cutting device in multiple tracks, in particular in three tracks, each track having its own scale and the feed of each track being controlled or regulated by the associated scale in the manner already explained.
- the feed device is preferably driven by a ball screw connected to a disc motor, but in principle other feed devices are also available, e.g. Tapes can be used.
- the angle between the cutting plane and the feed path can preferably be adjusted in order to be able to influence or predefine the size of the disks that are separated.
- a cutting knife 2 which can be configured as desired is driven, it being advantageous that the drive unit is arranged on the side of the knife opposite the product placement side.
- a product to be sliced for example ham, salami, cheese and the like is provided with the reference number 3 and can be moved in the direction of the cutting knife 2 by means of a feed device 10.
- a weighing device 4 which is mechanically decoupled from the cutting device, but is electrically connected to it.
- This weighing device 4 is mounted in such a way that vibrations resulting from the working movements of the cutting device cannot be transmitted to the weighing device 4 or are so strongly damped that the accuracy of the weighing device is no longer impaired.
- the product receiving surface of the scale 4 is formed by an endless belt 5 which is integrated in the scale 4.
- This endless belt 5 can - driven by a disc rotor motor - be accelerated very quickly in order to transfer finished product stacks 6 from the scale 4 to a subsequent conveyor 9.
- the belt 5 can also be driven slowly in the opposite direction, namely during the stack formation.
- the scale 4 which is designed as an electronic scale, is connected to a computing unit 7, which in turn is connected to a control drive 8 for the feed device 10 of the product pieces.
- the computing unit 7 is designed to be programmable and is provided with an input unit which makes it possible, for example, to input the desired weight, the number of discs, the thickness of the disc, the cutting speed and the like.
- an input unit which makes it possible, for example, to input the desired weight, the number of discs, the thickness of the disc, the cutting speed and the like.
- a large number of product-related data can be stored in this computing unit, and it can also be used to monitor the function of the cutting device.
- the scale 4 is an electronic device with a very high working speed, i.e. the weight of the products resting on the scale 4 can be queried or retrieved electronically within a very short period of time. This also makes it possible to always select the time of retrieval in such a way that the weighing system is practically at rest despite the fast functioning of the overall device and thus disturbance variables which can result from the impinging disks are already switched off.
- the comparison value formation between actual and target weights takes place in the computing unit 7, and control variables for the unit 8 are formed.
- a fully automatic mode of operation can be achieved, which corresponds to the highest accuracy requirements with regard to the required total weight of a stack or a portion and yet allows a high working speed, so that the device according to the invention can be combined with known, fast-working packaging lines. It is advantageous to work with a multi-lane product feed and a corresponding number of scales 4, a single cutting knife 2 also being sufficient in a multi-lane embodiment.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for forming portions or stacks having a predeterminable weight from sliced food products, in particular sausage, ham, bacon, meat, cheese and the like, in which, depending on the desired target weight of the respective portion or the respective stack of the product piece to be sliced Number of slices or pieces separated, the stack or a corresponding portion having a certain slice or piece weight is weighed and the feed of the product piece to be cut is changed depending on the measurement result. The invention is also directed to a device for carrying out this method.
Known methods of this type have the fundamental disadvantage that the portions or stacks formed are only measured or weighed when a weight correction of the stack in question is no longer possible, at least automatically.
In addition to the fact that in order to avoid inadmissible minimum weight in these known methods, a safety margin must always be used which has an extremely negative economic impact, it is also unfavorable that the necessary correction can only be carried out with a considerable delay after the determination of excessive weight deviations is. This in turn either leads to a corresponding loss of the product to be sliced or requires the removal of less important portions or stacks.
The object of the present invention is to create a method of the type mentioned at the outset which makes it possible, at least substantially, for the accuracy of the target weight of the respective portion or of the respective stack to increase, in particular to achieve this target weight as exactly as possible, without affecting the working speed when forming portions or stacks.
This object is achieved according to the invention essentially in that the actual weight is already detected during the portion or stack formation and the feed of the respective product piece is changed as a function of the deviation of the actual weight from the associated target weight.
The immediate recording of the actual weight during the slicing process creates the prerequisites for corrective intervention during the portion or stack formation process and for the required target weight to be achieved exactly or at least so precisely that the required target weight is achieved by changing the feed of the product piece to be sliced any remaining deviation from the target weight is completely irrelevant in practice.
Each target weight is preferably assigned a specific number of discs and the target and actual weight comparison of the disc tray is carried out discontinuously. It can be freely chosen whether the target and actual weight comparison is carried out after each individual disc has been deposited or whether such a comparison is carried out after several individual discs have been deposited. With this selection, the respective product and the desired degree of accuracy can be taken into account.
According to an alternative embodiment variant, the current actual weight can also be recorded continuously and with an empirically determined or arithmetically determined the portion or stack formation corresponding target weight increase are compared.
According to a further special feature of the invention, care is taken to filter out brief weight fluctuations which occur during the actual weight measurement and which result from the movement or impact effects of the individual disks. This filtering can take place both via analog electrical circuits and via an appropriate computer program. Since it is possible to determine the respective actual weight within a very short sampling period, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the weight sampling time is set so that the settling or overshoot effect of the scales that occurs after each disk comes out is sufficient has subsided and of course the following disc has not yet been encountered.
The feed and thus the individual slice thickness can be changed depending on the deviation of the current actual weight extrapolated up to the stack target weight, which enables a smooth correction and minimizes the changes in movement in the feed.
Preferably, the deviation from the target weight that is found within a stack formation and at least partially compensated for during this stack formation is taken into account at the beginning of the subsequent new stack formation, i.e. the learning effect resulting from one stack formation is exploited during the next stack formation.
Furthermore, it is advantageous within the scope of the invention if, after reaching the respectively required number of slices or pieces and thus after completion of the required portion or the required stack, an immediate lower one Return stroke is carried out in order to enable at least one empty cut, which does not lead to any separation of chips and the like, as would normally be expected without this return stroke movement due to the elasticity and relaxation of the product.
This return stroke can be brought about in that either the entire feed device or parts thereof, together with the respective product, are or are set back with respect to the cutting plane.
A device for carrying out the method according to the invention comprises a cutting device, a device for feeding the respective product and a weighing device, and is characterized in that the weighing device consists of an electronic device, which is directly loaded with the separated slices or pieces, mechanically from the cutting device separate and vibrationally decoupled from this cutting device, the output signals of which are fed to a computer, the product feed being controlled by computer signals which are obtained as a result of a plurality of target and actual weight comparisons.
An endless conveyor belt forming a component of the scale is preferably arranged on the scale, which can be accelerated very quickly for the further transport of a deposited stack, but can also be driven very slowly in the opposite direction and without influencing the weighing process in order to form an exact stack instead of a shingle aligned to allow superimposed discs.
During operation, the scale is automatically re-tared after every acceleration to avoid errors to exclude any remaining particles that may have remained on the endless belt.
Products to be sliced can also be fed to the cutting device in multiple tracks, in particular in three tracks, each track having its own scale and the feed of each track being controlled or regulated by the associated scale in the manner already explained.
The feed device is preferably driven by a ball screw connected to a disc motor, but in principle other feed devices are also available, e.g. Tapes can be used. The angle between the cutting plane and the feed path can preferably be adjusted in order to be able to influence or predefine the size of the disks that are separated.
An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing; the only figure of the drawing shows a highly schematic embodiment variant of a device for carrying out the method according to the invention.
By means of a drive unit 1, a cutting knife 2 which can be configured as desired is driven, it being advantageous that the drive unit is arranged on the side of the knife opposite the product placement side.
A product to be sliced, for example ham, salami, cheese and the like is provided with the reference number 3 and can be moved in the direction of the cutting knife 2 by means of a feed device 10.
Immediately afterwards and below the cutting knife 2 is a weighing device 4, which is mechanically decoupled from the cutting device, but is electrically connected to it. This weighing device 4 is mounted in such a way that vibrations resulting from the working movements of the cutting device cannot be transmitted to the weighing device 4 or are so strongly damped that the accuracy of the weighing device is no longer impaired.
The product receiving surface of the scale 4 is formed by an
The scale 4, which is designed as an electronic scale, is connected to a computing unit 7, which in turn is connected to a
The computing unit 7 is designed to be programmable and is provided with an input unit which makes it possible, for example, to input the desired weight, the number of discs, the thickness of the disc, the cutting speed and the like. In addition, a large number of product-related data can be stored in this computing unit, and it can also be used to monitor the function of the cutting device.
The scale 4 is an electronic device with a very high working speed, i.e. the weight of the products resting on the scale 4 can be queried or retrieved electronically within a very short period of time. This also makes it possible to always select the time of retrieval in such a way that the weighing system is practically at rest despite the fast functioning of the overall device and thus disturbance variables which can result from the impinging disks are already switched off. The comparison value formation between actual and target weights takes place in the computing unit 7, and control variables for the
Due to the closed control loop, a fully automatic mode of operation can be achieved, which corresponds to the highest accuracy requirements with regard to the required total weight of a stack or a portion and yet allows a high working speed, so that the device according to the invention can be combined with known, fast-working packaging lines. It is advantageous to work with a multi-lane product feed and a corresponding number of scales 4, a single cutting knife 2 also being sufficient in a multi-lane embodiment.
It is also advantageous, after reaching the respectively required number of slices or pieces - again controlled by the computer 7 - to carry out a short return stroke of the product 3, so that absolutely free empty cuts can be carried out and the problem of cutting off residues, which has so far been annoying or snippet is turned off. This is a further advantage with regard to the immediate weighing during stack formation, because falsifications by snippets and the like are thus eliminated.
