Abstract

The externally insulated window mounting is employed in the sidewall frame of a railway passenger carriage. This carriage frame comprises sidewall sections and post sections (10), an exchangeable outer skin and in between an insulating material. The window mounting is releasably secured to the sidewall sections and post sections. The inner frame, made up of at least four extrusion pieces spaced from the region of the window corners, features a lip which serves as a sealing surface for the outer skin and holds in place an outer, peripheral frame with undercut groove. A lip on the outer frame pointing away from the window opening, clamps the outer skin securely and holds in place a mounting strip of weather resistant, elastic material to retain the window glazing in place.

Description

The invention relates to an externally insulated window frame in a side car body structure for railroad cars for passenger transport, the car body structure consisting of side wall or post profiles, a replaceable outer skin and insulation material arranged therebetween.

On the one hand, these are loosely fastened in grooves of spacers, on the other hand they are detachably attached to holders.

Such an arrangement has the advantage that the body of the car body can be covered with insulation independently of an interior device to be fitted later, and this means that it subsequently does not experience any breakthroughs. Cold bridges created later are thus avoided. In the case of minor accidents, the actual supporting structure of the car body is not affected, but only the insulation and the replaceable protective skin covering it. In such a minor accident, only the damaged outer skin panels need to be removed and replaced with new ones.

A customary material, such as glass wool, can be selected for the insulation. However, there are also firmer materials that can better absorb lighter shocks from the outside. Since the entire insulating material is arranged outside the passenger compartment, the safety of the passengers is increased in the event of a vehicle fire. The built support structure is cheaper.

Finally, the design of the entire body structure can be influenced favorably by the choice of the material of the outer skin.

The inventor has set himself the task of creating an externally insulated window frame which on the one hand fits the structure and design of EP-OS 0 148 123 and on the other hand fulfills the requirements placed on the body structure.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that the window frame consists of an inner frame detachably fastened to the side wall and to the post profiles and formed from at least four profile pieces arranged outside the area of the window corners, with a profile tab as a support surface for the outer skin, a circumferential outer frame with an undercut Groove for receiving the detachable fastening nuts on the inner frame and an outwardly extending profile tab angled away from the window opening for clamping the outer skin, a surrounding frame strip made of a weather-resistant, elastic material to hold the window glazing and one between the two Inside and outside frame clamped elastic sealing element with a slot for receiving the outer skin.

The window frame is located outside the supporting structure of the car body structure and can be dismantled in stages. This also applies to the cover plates of the outer skin fastened in the window frame.

  • - Fig. 2 einen Vertikalschnitt durch die Fensterbrüstung.
The invention is explained in more detail using the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing. The schematic sections show in
  • - Fig. 1 is a horizontal section through a window post with window frames arranged on both sides, and
  • - Fig. 2 is a vertical section through the window parapet.

The extruded post profile 10 made of a conventional aluminum alloy has two undercut grooves 12 on each of the two end faces 10 for receiving detachable fastening means. In the area of the crossbar 14 forming a plane of symmetry, two outwardly facing grooves 16, 18 are also arranged. The inwardly open, undercut groove 16 is used to fasten seats, luggage racks, electrical equipment and the like. The outward-facing undercut groove 18 receives insulating nuts 20, which are fastened by means of a screw 22 to secure the two cover plates in the area of the post profile 10 serve outer skin 24 formed from an aluminum-plastic composite. The plates pushed one above the other are pulled from the head of the screw 22 into the cup-shaped opening of a counter-holder piece 28 which is designed with an O-ring 26. The superimposed plates of the outer skin 24 are provided with an adhesive layer 30 which prevents the penetration of moisture.

The mechanical fastening means of the inner frame 32 on the end faces of the post profile 10 are not visible in the section of FIG. 1. Two longitudinally extending lugs 34 of the inner frame 32 are in positive engagement with correspondingly designed inner walls of the undercut grooves 12. The mechanical fastening means used in FIG undercut groove inserted screw heads or parallelogram-shaped clamping plate, as described for example in DE-PS 27 51 753. Also not visible are those in the Inner frame drilled holes between the lugs 34, which serve to carry out a threaded pin.

The inner frame 32 has two profile legs which have angled profile ends 36, 38 in such a way that the inner cover 40, lying thereon, runs beveled in the direction of the window glazing 42.

The angled profile tab 44 of the outwardly pointing leg of the inner frame 32 forms an indirect support surface for the outer skin 24, which is arranged parallel to the window glazing 42.

The outer frame 46 is fastened to the inner frame 32 by means of insulating nuts 50, which are inserted into an undercut groove 48 and consist of a threaded bushing and a plastic jacket, and a set screw 52 with a screw head 54. Holes for the threaded pin 52 are left in this. A washer 56 is arranged between the screw head 54 and the inner frame 32.

The angled profile tab 58 of the outer frame 46 extends, pointing away from the window opening, over the edge of the outer skin 24. When the threaded pin 52 is tightened, the outer frame 46 is not fastened to the inner frame 32, but the profile tab 58 clamps it into the slot of an elastic sealing element 60 inserted outer skin 24 against the profile tab 44 of the inner frame 32. The gap 62 allows the necessary freedom of movement.

The frame ledge 64 made of rubber, like the outer frame 46, accommodates the window glazing 42 in an easily replaceable manner. This consists of double glazing with insulating plates 66 of known design at the end. In a in the longitudinal direction of the socket strip 64, adj Beard of the glazing 42, which is circular in cross-section, a rubber cord 68 of likewise circular cross-section is inserted by means of a special tool. According to embodiments not shown, the groove and the rubber cord 68 can have other geometric cross-sectional shapes, for example square, rectangular, trapezoidal or elliptical. For the assembly or disassembly of the window glazing 42, the rubber cord 68 is removed, whereupon the elastic tab 70 of the socket strip 64 can be folded up.

Ein weiterer, von der Fassungsleiste 64 abkragender Lappen 72 drückt die Innenabdeckung 40 im Fensterbereich gegen den Innenrahmen 32.Another tab 72 protruding from the socket strip 64 presses the inner cover 40 in the window area against the inner frame 32.

The socket strip 64 made of rubber is placed on both sides over a profile tab 74 which projects from the outer frame parallel to the window glazing and is thus secured against displacement to the outside.

Both in the case of the sealing element 60 and also of the mounting strip 64, the inner surfaces which come into contact with the outwardly facing surfaces of the outer skin 24 or the outer frame 46 have grooves 76 which extend in the longitudinal direction.

The window parapet shown in Fig. 2 corresponds essentially to the left or right side of Fig. 1, because the window installation on the side wall and on the post profiles is largely the same.

Side wall, post, inner frame and outer frame are preferably extruded aluminum profiles made of alloys known to those skilled in the art.

The outer skin preferably consists of an aluminum or steel sheet, but it can also consist of a composite material, in particular an aluminum-plastic composite.

It does not appear from the drawing that the inner frame 32 is not designed as a closed peripheral frame, but preferably consists of four pieces which do not touch in the round window corners. An inner frame 32 made of more than four profile pieces is possible, but less practical for manufacturing reasons.

The insulation material attached in the area of the mullion profile 10 and the side wall profile 78 is designated by 80.
